Mocolo Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S4 mini
Bought this one and loved. Much better than the plastic ones while using the phone. (remove the spaces on the link)
www . amazon . com /gp/product/B00O1N7GZE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I actually ordered one yesterday. I hope it will do it's job
gonna take off my protective cover and rely on the glass
glass is so much better than plastic. The feel, the transparency and its longevity is amazing compare with plastic. Plus very easy to keep clean with either a tissue or cloth.
However, there is a downside. And it is its thickness. Plastics protectors are usually under 0.1mm thick. While glass ones are usually between 0.2 to 0.35mm.
Wich one is harder to install without air bubbles or imperfections? plastic or glass?

For me the plastic one is harder. It is very easy to remove the bubbles when installing the glass one.

Thanks, looks like it worth a try!
Tempered glass everytime, the plastic PET film ones are horrible. I got a Pureglas screen protector for my S4 Mini Plus from eBay for less than a fiver. Excellent screen protector, very easy to fit with no bubbles. The size is a few mm smaller than the actual screen and has all the cutouts including for the home button.
Tempered glass
The greatest difference is that tempered glass really protect your expensive screen of breaking it and plastic protectors, protects only from scratches.
Mocolo
Sorry guys but i can't recommence the mocolo tempered glass protector. thats simply caused by not exactly fitting on my s4 mini. material is really good and feels much more comfortable than other protectors made from plastics. but IT DOES NOT FIT THE DIMENSIONS of the i9195. there is a spacing of 1-2 mm on each site and around the menu button.

What the pros and cons of tempered glass screen protector vs a Film screen protector?
My concern about the Tempered glass is that :
--it's adhesive is only on the bezel area and since phones today have smaller bezel so it might get detached easily
--Tempered Glass might scratch the glass beneath it
--If adhesive of the Tempered glass became less sticky Dust might accumulate inside
So can you tell me your experience with tempered glass screen protector? I really want to hear from someone who used this screen protector for long time and not on these reviews on youtube since they only used it on the time they review it.
And also does anyone tried using combination of Film and T.glass protectors?
I also second this. Anyone that has this screen protector please respond.

I just found out that Spigen is selling a new type of tempered Glass screen protector it is "GLAS.T" it's different from the old one. This new one is all transparent and has adhesive all through-out the back part of the screen protector, unlike the old one which has paint on the borders and only adhesive on the painted area.
Spigen has GLAS.T for Note 1 Anyone that used the product for about 5-6 months now?

I have a tempered glass screen protector for my Note 3 and it fits and works perfectly. It's been on my phone for 2 months now. Not a single scratch to it and no peeling or dust accumulation at all. I would recommend one any time over a plastic protector. I got mine from a company called fasttech. They are very cheap compared to UK sellers and the company is very reliable even considering that they are Chinese.
Tempered glass has an adhesive throughout the whole surface, not only the bezel/perimeter area.
The difference is very simple. If you want scratch protection, get a film screen protector, but make sure to get quality PET 3H hardness film like the one sold by iSmooth and Spigen. Cheap ebay stuff is thin, will scratch, will bubble after some time, and will have rainbow effect under the florescent light. If you want ultimate shatter protection - get tempered glass. On impact the glass will shatter without affecting your display. Spigen and Seidio makes some of the best ones. I'm personally a big fan of Seidio VITREO and been using it on my Note 2 for a very long time.
for LG g2 temperate glass or we don't have to buy anything

i've really no bubbles, just use the type method to remove bubles cause by dust.
the cons is that film protector changes a bit the polarization of my glass so it has more strange effect on very high view angle

The advantages of T. glass over films are the following.
-. Scratch - (almost)free : sellers boast it is harder than stock display, but I don't agree with. Glass screen protector also gets scratch.
-. Superb feeling : yes. its feeling is real better even stock display including any premium film. http://vimeo.com/91463403
-. Bubble -Free : Yes. it is easy to install and you don't worry about bubble.
Disadvantages
-. Price : $5~40 : I have tried $5 and 40 as well. I don't recommend both $5 and $40. you can find good one between them.
-. Thickness :0.15~0.4mm : Compared to film, it is bulky. Sometimes it won't be compatible with certain cases. (I don't recommend too thin one, since it is easy to brake before doing its protection job)
i have used a glass screen protector for the last month until it broke when i dropped my phone from hip height. i am extremely satisfied by the product. as it is rigid, it is very easy to apply and in contrast with plastic film protectors, the tempered glass lets your fingers glide on the screen. i was also impressed by the fact that after 1 month's use my phone had zero scratches, even though i was kind of provoking scratches by the way i was handling the phone. never going back to plastic film, not a slight chance there.
I've run a gauntlet recently with screen protectors and cases with my galaxy s7 edge. I can definitely tell you the pros and cons between tempered glass and soft film screen protectors.
Tempered glass pros- much sturdier, better scratch resistance, looks better. Easier to install. Longer field life. Better phone protection all around.
Tempered glass cons: some cases won't work with tempered glass unless it has a top that fully covers the glass. Dust buildup under screen protector, less sensitivity- much less. Won't work with an otterbox symmetry because the sides and front push the glass up and out but does work with the defender because the defender covers the edge of the screen. If sand or dirt gets underneath glsss, it could scratch up your screen. Very thick too.
PET film pros- better sensitivity, will work with any phone case. Sturdy enough for the most part. No issues with dust buildup under the cover. Works with any case and has better adherence. Very thin.
PET cons- they look cheap and scratch more easily than tempered glass and you can tell that the phone has a screen protector. Harder to install. The protector scratches but the phone screen doesn't. Shorter field life.
Personally, I prefer PET film screen protectors to tempered glass but to be fair, I have an edge phone and glass screen protectors with edge phones can be more finicky than flat phones. Glass looks better, but aside from drop protection and looks, they don't keep the dirt out and can be a chore with the wrong kind of cases, or simply won't work.
I think film is much more versatile and I'm willing to trade some aesthetics in favor of usability. That's my 2 cents on both types of screen protectors based on recent experience.

And liquid bubbles with soft cases go away in a few days. Air must be popped and dust must be removed physically but moisture does dry out. You can tell a moisture bubble because it has rainbow swirls if you view the phone on a screen with a white background.
Don't try to iron out small moisture bubbles or press them out. They go away on their own within a week and if you mess with them you can bend your soft screen protector out of shape or get divot lines.
Also, if the soft screen protector has the oleophobic coating, it does work very well, in fact it's almost if not better about prints and crap on the screen than actual glass screens. Plus, tempered glass can be a problem on certain phones.
My friend has a note 5 with a tempered glass screen protector and he dropped his phone (no case) so instead of the screen shattering, the back of the phone did. Protectors work, but if you have a glass coated phone- better have a case on it.
I want to use my phone without any case. I'm not afraid of scratches, but I'm afraid of screen cracking if I drop my phone. So my question is: if I use tempered glass, will it protect my screen from cracking? Or they will both be cracked? And I also want that glass is the thinnest. So I was thinking about getting 0.15 mm tempered glass. Is it different from 0.3mm or 0.4mm in term of protection, or does only the hardness matter?
Thank you for your reply.
I've dropped mine many many times onto wood and concrete without a screen protector. The phone is a little chipped and scratched, but the screen is absolutely fine.
A nilkin tempered glass screen protector is a good investment as it feels brilliant although when I dropped mine with that on it smashed the corner of the protector.
The edges of the phone are slightly raised so without the screen protector on, a drop onto a flat surface will not damage the screen but will damage the screen protector.
A drop onto a raised surface like a stone would probably break the screen protector but don't know if it'd also damage the screen.
Question is, how often do you drop your phone, and how much do you want to spend on glass protectors?

I was thinking about Nillkin, but I think it would be too thick. So I'm considering those 0.15 mm protectors in this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...5mm-dot-view-friendly-tempered-glass-t2810825
I also thought about xtremeguard, since I use their normal protectors and they are great. It 50$, but with 85% off coupon it's just a few bucks. Only problem is that it's 0.4mm.
Which one would you recommend? I'm planning to spend 10-15$, because 40-50$ is really to much for a protector, in my opinion.

If your looking for it, but after putting on, I haven't paid much attention to it. I dropped my phone once, chipped away at the edges of the shield. The seller replaced it free. I like tempered glass, it is the only screen proctor I will put on my phones. The only bad thing is that it goes edge to edge with the glass. So if you have a case that touches the screen, that might cause a problem. I use a thin clear cars I got off ebay. Works for me.

The only annoying thing could be top edge, when I pull down notification bar.
Case wouldn't be a problem, because I'm planning to use phone without case, and that why I'm looking for a tempered glass, to protect screen from cracking.

Actually then it could be a benefit, because going edge to edge means you will probably not touch the edge. And the edge is not sharp, nice and smooth. The price is cheap enough to try it. I have tried several over the last few months, mostly from China. But this is US born and works and feels great.
Hello,
I am looking to purchase a new Samsung Galaxy S8+ screen protector. I was planning on getting this case but I had wanted a screen protector as well to protect such a device. Any suggestions? I've looked online and heard to find a good one is rare due to the fact of the curved edges as well as it being an expensive phone. Any help would be appreciated.
Side-Note: Any suggestions for another case would be nice as well, I like the one linked above but something with a slim factor would be nice too!

Works well with the Spigen Neo Hybrid too.
Idk I've gone through 3 screen protectors with the same case listed above for some reason the case grabs the side of the screen protectors and it bubbles up I tried two expensive tempered glass screen protectors and each one with that same case popped off my phone so irritated right now I'm using just my bro hybird case with no screen protection

So you guys recommend I get a glass screen protector? Or just leave the plastic one it already has?

I would use the plastic until it is no longer usable then switch to temp glass. I still have the plastic and and will keep it that way until it is too damaged.

If you plan the use the pen the plastic will not last much from my experience and it does scratch easy. Also the plastic does not have oleophobic coating and it will gather finger oils fast. On top of that the finger does not glide as smooth on it as it does on glass.

It depends on your usage patterns and how picky you are... you can use it as it is for a while and see how it fits you... if you are not happy get a glass for it...
Just make sure it's a good glass, meaning it needs to have rounded edges, oleophobic coating, cover the screen properly but fits fine with the case you are using...

Don't expect the glass to protect the screen much in case on an impact giving the big size of the screen... my glass is around 0.2-03mm thick...
Don't get me wrong It's definitely better to have one sheet of glass on it than a sheet of plastic when are talking about impact just don't expect miracles
I've put a glass on it because I am picky:
- the default sheet although is nice to have and protects from scratches but it does not have oleophobic coating so it smudges pretty bad
- when using a pen you need to push harder and the default plastic sheet gets scratched a lot and also gets some deep scratches fast, also the pen does not slide smoothly like it does on a glass
- the feel of smooth glass while scrolling is priceless... finger slides on glass so much better...
- I watch a lot of media on the phone so I hate having scratches on the screen and no matter how carefull you are, you will get scratches... some will be quite deep and will be visible.
- I use the flip case and with a flip case you have a higher chance of some dirt to get caught between the flip and the screen and get scratched
- the screen is flat so a glass screen is cheap (compared to the ones for the curbed screens are are more expensive and with many drawbacks)
I use a Glass Screen Protector from Amazon.

Yes, no screen protector in the box, and it is frustrating. I think Samsung is reducing the use of plastic so they are selling it separately you can try the Gadgetshieldz film screen protector which is really good and it is made from nano polymer and it can self-heal the scratches occur on it!

well they are pushing on using less plastic and going carbon neutral so that might be the reason orr..... might just be cost
Typically plastic film works less with yltrasonic sensors.

Mine came with a screen protector. I took it off and put a tempered glass on.
They do it so they can claim to be green while passing the waste and cost to the end consumer who's going to end up buying it all anyway.

I don't like it too but they are far more scratch resistant than plastic film. I have bought cheap hydrogel film from Aliexpress and fews days after, you already get some scratches. Same with a more expensive one, the Spigen Neoflex, totally useless as it scratches too easily.
So now, only tempered glass...

yh no plastic but they include that first protector with the little tab that it's not meant to be used as a film protector.
I mean, they could just include a proper film to give the user the choice to either keep it or peel it off.
so no screen protector on the phone out of the box- and the reason is to reduce plastic waste. I got the official samsung screen protector from the samsung shop- there is four times the amount of plastic waste in the packing as well as the box it came in. This is a load of samsung BS , just another revenue stream to upsell
