On previous phones xposed and gravity box would allow me to remap my navigation keys. A long press of back would bring me to the last used app, long pressing recents would kill the current app.
Since the S6 does not work with xposed, I am in a dire search for a way to do this.
Any suggestions?

Since xposed isn't out for Nougat yet, is there any way to get the kill app on back long press function on stock? Thanks for any insight!
I put this line in my build.prop to hide my navbar,
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
then I use LMT Launcher for pie controls. You can set long press items, and I have my back button long press set to kill app.
hey, i just wanted to remap my buttons with the gravitybox xposed module but that sadly didnt work. looks like some gravitybox options dont work with freedomOS or stock.
is there any other module you know that allows me to remap m buttons?
i want to open menu with single click on menu button and with long press opening the default app list.
and also i want to close apps with long pressing the back button.
any suggestions?
Edit: found a module that works myself. -> Xposed Additions
Try this

worked fine, thank you!
Hi,
Is there any way that you can remove the recent apps button from the status bar and replace it with the menu button? It's b/c i miss the menu button on my s3... and long pressing on menu brings up recents but recents is just vice versa. I have root so if that has to come into play I'm in :crying:

Mhmm, but the thing is I cannot drag out the recents button and replace it with the menu key in the home touch buttons section and I'm looking for an alternate way to do it, also an idea is to put a skin over it, but I don't know how.

this doesnt have anything to do with the home touch button settings in menu
Is it possible? With root maybe?
I suppose with root, you could do it. You would just reassign the button mapping, which can be done with Gravitybox, for single tap. However, it obviously won't change the look of the button, just the functionality.
Button remapper app
Hi.
So I've been trying to get my navbar buttons to work as they did in my previous phone. What would be:
Recent apps short press: open menu
Recent apps long press: search
Recent apps double tap: open assistant
Home button short press: home
Home button long press: recent apps
Home button double tap: split screen
Back button short press: back
Back button long press: kill app
Remaping the buttons doesn't seem an option since the soft keys are not detected as buttons. I rooted my device as well.
I've tried several methods using other apps that should replace the stock navbar but those despite being shown they do nothing.
I would also like to have it so the home button is disabled when typing.
I would really appreciate some help. Thanks
-Device: OP5T
-OS: OOS9.0.5
-Rooted with magisk. Twrp recovery. No xposed
Most of the functions you listed can be achieved by using the navbar customization built into Oxygen OS. (Settings->Buttons->Navigation Bar->Customization) The kill app button could probably be done with Tasker.

Although it is true the actions themselves are available on the stock menu apart from search and kill app. The short press action cannot be changed
Ah, didn't notice the menu one. Just for curiosity, do apps still support a menu button function? I haven't seen a hardware menu button in years.

Oh yes they do. All of the ones I use at least it just opens whatever menu the app has that you would access by pressing on 3 dots. I just hate that some apps use other methods so you always have to think how to open the menu as oposed to just pressing the same thing
