Sounds like you might be using a cracked version? This is likely the issue. Probably nothing to do with Zenfone 2. Not saying this is absolutely the case, just best guess.

Yeah i was using a cracked apk i found on net.... I deleted the cracked version and download the apk from playstore... Works well no problem at all... but one question why didnt the cracked apk work? I have root and the apk worked well on other phones as well...

Because the Play Store knows what kind of device you have, in this case an x86 architecture device and not ARM, and downloads to you the appropriate version of the app. The cracked apk you found is very much certain that it is for ARM devices as these are the most common.

ARM byte code works on x86 too, otherwise many apps wouldn't work. I thought that was the case, but the day I forgot to change the target architecture on my Unity Editor I found that out.
However, native code might have to be compiled to these target architectures... but I'm not sure. I've yet to learn that kind of stuff about Android.
EDIT: I just found out: Android has this thing called Houdini, which translates ARM instructions to x86 and makes almost everything work completely fine. However, there could be some extremely rare cases were that might not work... it could be the case here.
Just... avoid cracked stuff. It hurts the developer, in the best of cases. It could harm you, in the worst. How do you think crackers devote time to cracking apps? I personally know that it is what happens on desktop land, and I'm pretty sure I've heard a couple of cases on Android.

AFAIK no. The Houdini Binary Translator is almost at kernel level, as you can see in the attached picture. There are specific x86 libraries, though, which are used by x86 compiled applications.

Problem solved.
I choosed to install apk as a system app with Lucky Patcher (Rebuild & Install -> choosing apk path -> Install as a System App). After that I rebooted phone and then installed apk normally without Lucky Patcher.
Do not know why I was unable to install it before. My phone is rooted with Xposed framework. I cleared system and Dalvik cache but installation of MX Player still failed. Problem was only with MX player installation.
Hope this informations will be useful for someone.

Amazon Streaming Video

Looks like Amazon wasn't supporting Android smartphones. I'm not sure if it's changed. I saw a youtube video on how to make it work but it seems to no longer be effective.
Is anyone able to watch Amazon streaming videos with a standard unrooted etc android device?
I think you can watch them in any browser that supports flash. I believe the stock browser and Dolphin work.
I downloaded Dolphin but it won't run Amazon streaming video. It results in an error code.

I don't think Dolphin supports flash anymore. You can install Boat browser for flash content. You need to install flash separately, and enable it in Boat browser settings. Then you can watch Amazon videos through Boat browser.

Thanks, I downloaded Boat but still no go. Looks like there's no flash support beyond android 4.0.x.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/adobe-flash-player-11/com.adobe.flashplayer
Google Play won't download the flash player for current Android devices. Looks like there's other ways to download flash...
http://www.ghacks.net/2013/07/29/how-to-install-and-use-flash-player-on-your-android-device/
Yes, you have to install it separately and not from Google Play. Search xda, I'm sure you will find a link to the file. It works on Android 4.3, I tried streaming with my N7 and can confirm. Don't worry about the threads saying it won't work, that was an old issue of Amazon doing something to exclude android devices, they no longer do that.
Don't forget to enable flash in boat browser once you install it. It is not enabled by default!

I've tried numerous apk files developed in part for multiple devices and none work.
I did come across a Google Play Music addon for Kodi & even though the zip installed I cannot for the life of me get it to work. The menu displays & I've entered my correct Google Play Music logon credentials but when I access the addon the screen says "Working..." & goes no where.
Anyone have any ideas as to why?

Hello, I have this working for me, First uninstall all these
script.module.mutagen
script.module.gmusicapi
plugin.audio.googlemusic
Then download the new 1.2 version here is the link
https://app.box.com/s/vderjsv84fq59z1lccv0
Install only this, do not install the dependencies , then enter your info, it going to take like 5 minutes to load your library, then your good to go.

Yup that did it. Thanks so much. Now I just need to tweak the way the tags are read on album views (I was able to do it for track views).

Hello, That I don't know, sorry.

Why doesn't a YouTube embedded video play in Chrome on my Tab Pro?

Using Chrome, if I a on a forum and someone has posted a message with a YouTube video I get a gray box that says plugIn is not supported.
If I go to the same post using Chrome on my Moto X the video starts playing as it should.
Any idea why and how I can fix if possible? Moto X is on 5.0 and Tab Pro is on 4.4.2.
Thanks
I think you have to install Flash manually: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installing-flash-player-android-devices.html
Why it works on your Moto X, I don't know. Adobe stopped supporting Flash on Android some time ago; and it likewise has not typically been included as a pre-installed plugin for sometime (or even available on the Play Store).

Still doesn't work, I remember trying this a while ago with no luck. Installed the latest version of flash player from Adobe site for 4.0 but video still doesn't play in chrome.
I've had better luck with flash on Dolphin browser. Google adobe flash for 4.4. There are plenty of downloads out there. I have not had success with the versions from the Adobe site (be sure to uninstall the one you downloaded from there) . Go into settings in dolphin browser and make sure the flash setting is Always On.

Like I said, I don't know if Chrome even support Flash anymore. As the above suggests, Dolphin browser does, and I believe Firefox as well.

Thanks, I remember having to setup Dolphin browser to watch amazon videos on my old tablet.
I just wish Chrome on my Tab Pro worked like Chrome on my Moto X, which does show the videos in the browser. So strange that it works on one but not the other.

Any idea how to change that setting on my tablet? Looking through chrome and YouTube app settings and I don't see anything.

App/Game compatibility list.

Hi All
I just re-found a compatibility list by androidtv.news (thanks guys)
great work, please contribute your findings, and be careful when you edit (there seems to be a few rows with no name, unfortunately by an edit)
I'll ask the mods to sticky it..

Also minecraft pocket edition now works if you install it from the browser
_________
check out my new Android game https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pgviews.kobesadventure
Add it to the list if you haven't already
Did anyone notice that the sideloaded apps started updating in the play store? Minecraft has been updading itself twice, even though its not available for download.

as long as the sideloaded apps have the original signature untouched, they have always updated.
Edit: Nevermind. The problem was me. User error.
I tried to install Amazon Video but received errors. Anyone else have the same experience? Thanks.
for some reason realMyst only works on my 2015 not my 2017
I like OpenArena, but it is essentially single player only. No multiplayer servers are around.
Anyone want to compile this for Android?

Local split-screen multiplayer.
Anyone have an updated link to the compatibility list? Link in the OP no longer works.
Netflix TV Os
Hi,
I'm struggling on the internet for information I'm after and you might be able to help! I want to get a media player with the official Android TV OS (the same one as the Shield - not the other normal media boxes). Simply put - in SA we have unstable internet connections. For Netflix on Android TV OS, does it allow for offline downloading? People have suggested popcorn time but I want to support creators and anyway, Netflix is good enough. So, can anyone tell me whether the Netflix App for the official Android TV OS supports offline mode (ie downloaded episodes like you have in normal Netflix on Android).
Thanks Tom

Need help with vlc on my pixel XL (hardware acceleration issue)

Hey all have a og pixel XL it's unlocked and rooted either stock kernel December update (8.1) I use vlc at work to watch and listen to downloaded videos I've been using it for months now with no issues. Now I recently noticed that all my videos stutter and hitch . I though it was because I went for 8.0 to 8.1 so I went back and it was still happening (even though in the past I had no issues)
Only way I can fix this is to disable hardware acceleration in vlc settings. But doing thumis makes my device warm and sucks battery (being that it's decoding HD video via software) this is driving me nuts. How can I fix this?
I downloaded the device driver binaries from Google but no idea how to install it. I though I could make sure they are all up to date but not sure how to go about that.

Has VLC been updated recently? it sounds like if it's happening on 8.0 and 8.1 and wasn't happening before ... it's likely an issue with the app itself and not the OS.

No, do NOT do that. that's not what those drivers are for - they are for developers, not end-users.
your firmware contains the drivers that you should be using / built for your firmware.

i could not find a past version of the app. well i did on apkmirror but the only non beta past app was from nov 28th i was looking for one from like october but only found beta versions. tried one of them. still doing it. i think it has something to do with 8.1. i would do a back up with twrp and just do a fresh install of 8.0 and see if it happens again but last time i tried making a twrp back up restoring from it failed.
You can download the older builds from the vlc website:

i think i found the issue. i use the app arktube to download youtube videos the night before i go into work so i can listen and watch while on shift. in the app there is a setting to allow to download VP9 version of videos and i had it selected for some reason. those videos are the ones that are stuttering unless i disable hardware acceleration.
would you be able to test to see if VP9 content stutters on your pixel? the video i had was 2560x1440P VP9 youtube video here is the video i downloaded https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33OZFYN_cQw&index=22&list=PL8mG-RkN2uTyuEutQa79RZ0Q5u5gteUci
i just got done flashing 7.1.2 and 8.0 with different versions of VLC each and still had the issues so i guess its because of VP9. which makes no sense being that i can view it fine from the youtube app at that setting but cant if i download it and play it via vlc?
