[Q] How to root my solid Huawei Ascend P6? - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

Hi guys,
I have a little problem with rooting my Huawei Ascend P6-C00 (Android 4.4.2). Latterly, in January I guess, I’ve updated my phone to Emui 3.0 (by official firmware). Emui 3.0 is awesome but unfortunately it has a lot of unnecessary system applications . So I’ve just wanted to remove them. Seriously, I think I tried every program to root my phone. But it always failed. For example Root genius – I was so close, but then suddenly the phone just turned off and rooting was stopped. I’m so desperate already. But I don’t want to let these stupid system applications win. I will be glad for any advise or tip.
Thank you

You need to root it with TWRP. I think that is only way.

Huawei G700 - help a New-Androider get KitKat 4.4

Hi Guys! Just became with Android, after several years of iOS.
My phone is the Huawei G700. I tried the Farmaroot App to root it, but the app says the phone is not breakable.
What are my other options, if I wanna upgrade to 4.4? I'm really unskilled, so I need a step by step guide. Please bear with me guys...

[Q] Need help with Huawei Ascend P6 U-06

hello, since i got my huawei ive seen many people talking about updates and everything, my phone is currently b118 i dont really know what that means but i see people talking about b125 and getting updates for their p6 which i never get, it would be lovely if someone please explained to me what this b118 thing means and if there are any available updates for the p6.
Thank you :good:
The B118 means your firmware version, B118 is quite old and if you want to update you need to update manualy. Download latest firmware and put it in your SD card and use recovery. Check XDA for more accurate info

Help in upgrading from b116.

Hi I recently got a p6. So far I really like the phone nice step up from g300 . Love the look. I am still on jellybean. The firmware is b116. I think it is the UK version no updates are available? I have searched here and on other forums. Not many seem to have upgrade from this rom. Just looking for a bit of advice hopefully someone else has upgraded from this firmware.

Hi, similarly here (although I upgraded from a Y300).
Do a backup first [full backup if possible using the Android SDK. A nandroid (full image) backup may be impossible unless you root/unlock your phone & install CWM/TWRP recovery tools].
A microSD card is required.
You first need JB B132 next, which you can get from: http://huaweinews.com/2014/03/ascend-p6-b132-firmware/
Once done, you can upgrade to KK B510 from: http://huaweinews.com/2014/06/ascend-p6-b510-official/
You can stop here, if you like, but if you want the latest then carry on....
There are B512, B513, B606, B607 updates, but I went to KK B634 next, downloadable from: http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=26521&version=48526
And finally KK B635 from: http://consumer.huawei.com/tr/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=29262
The B634 & B635 updates are 'Turkish' updates (with a few minor changes), but if you only install 'Part 1' of each, the default is English. So unzip & only install/flash "Update.app" in 'Part 1' folders of each.
If you need update instructions, just ask.
Thanks i will try when i get a bit of free time. Did you upgrade from b116? Read a few reviews saying kitkat roms are not worth the trouble. I was on cm11 on my g300 and liked that rom. Not rooted or installed a custom recovery on p6 yet. I'm sure i will in time though. Sticking with stock for now.

Which sites? Because KK works fine for me.
All the above are stock ROMs.
Android pit and android central. The negative reviews seem to be on the early kitkat builds. Battery Life seems to be a big negative. I'll aim to go for b635 as you suggested. Ill let you know how it goes Thanks again for the confirmation that you went from b116.

OK I'm now on b132. Seems very similar to the original rom which came on the phone. Would you recommend going to b510 or straight to b513. Both are on the supported software list as an upgrade from b132. Another question is the renaming of the zip file. The word document from the official rom does not mention anything about it. I have read on this forum others had to rename files. Which way did you upgrade? Sorry for all the questions don't want to brick my phone.

It looks like B512 came after B513 & the former (i.e. B512) is 'better' apparently - see: http://huaweinews.com/2014/08/ascend-p6-b512/
As mentioned before, I went from B510 to B634, so missed the B512 update entirely.
All files I downloaded & updated with were named UPDATE.APP, so I didn't have to rename anything.
Ok so now i am on b512. Upgrade went fine did not rename any files and all went through smoothly. Weird how some people have to mess around wit the files. Did what you suggested and as on the b512 instruction. Like the look of the new soft keys at the bottom. i was never a fan of that big grey bar.Home button seems laggy though. Ill let it settle and report back. Looks like there is a new rom b708 with emui 3.0 so might wait to see on reports from that. I doubt Huawei will go for lollipop on this pone but it would be nice.
Oh right, I didn't know there was a new update already - did a search & found it at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p6/development/b708-emui-3-0-root-included-t2942550
Will be updating at some point depending on the responses.
I didn't notice any home button lag with B510, so perhaps only B512 has it? But I installed a third-party launcher almost immediately anyway, so didn't have much of a play with the stock Huawei interface.
Yes, you're probably right - they won't be releasing LP for the P6.
plz help
Hi! the downloadable links in these links dont seem to be working :/
Any alternative?

That check is heavily dependant on where you bought the phone from, who is your service provider, etc. It kinda depends on what you want. Do you just want Kitkat? Not modified?
Also a word of advice: You wont get much help from other users, because your question is too vague. Also it seems like you didnt do any research, just made a new thread.

Thanks for ur reply.
i just want to update my phone to kitkat from 4.2.2. And i m unable to do this with the update option provided in the phone.
and also i want to do it without rooting my phone.
Like the above post says do some research the answers are all here in this forum. But basically you want to download the appropriate firmwares. First you need to update to b125 jb( you may need to go through other firmwares,). From there you can update to KitKat. I went to b512. Both are updated through update app files put in dload folder on SD card. Use the local update method worked fine for me. No rooting needed.
Have fun good luck.

[Q] KitKat for Ascend P6 in the UK
Sent from my P6-U06 using XDA Free mobile app

[Q] Need help on updating my B125 smartphone.

Hello people, I know I'm not really active on this community but this is the only place I know of where I can get help.
So I saw on many pages KitKat is released on H. Ascend P6, however "internet update" said I'm on the latest version (I live in Mexico). On an old thread I did a really long time ago, some guys helped me to updgrade my compilation version to B125.
I saw on a post I had to update from B125 to B132, and then install the KitKat update (B506 http://huaweinews.com/2014/06/ascend-p6-b510-official/ ). The B506 version seems to include Emotion UI 2.3, while some themes on this forum are for E. UI 3.0
I don't understand what ROM means, but I see there are many around here. E.g:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/asc...8-kangvip-tools-integrated-repackbbn-t2986681
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p6/development/ascend-p6-u06-b709-emui-3-0-kitkat-t2999971
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p6/general/b520-update-android-4-4-2-enotion-ui-2-3-t2903736
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p6/general/ascend-p6-b708-emui-3-0-international-t2991646
That's why I'm really confused. While I'd like to have the latest E. UI version, I'd also like stability and few bugs.
Can anyone help me?

For this rom and b709 you need twrp
If you want to update to b708 you need to go from b125 to b132 then on b510/511/512/513 and from there you can flash b708 international but only with stock recovery

Flashing is basically installing rom,I dont know how to say that more simple..
And stock recovery is default huawei recovery. You dont have too bother with that if you didnt installed twrp or some other custom recovery

Hi there again.
I managed to install latest international kitkat firmware (b510) but I have got some troubles...
The system gui is indeed amazing, but laggy.
It took up to 2 hours and a half to make a full charge before, but now it takes at least the same time or even more (up to 3 hours now).
Device gets hotter than before, even when it's winter in my country.
Native explorer is really laggy that it's impossible to browse the internet with it. I gotta use chrome.
Battery probably drains faster than before.
Are those things normal? should I downgrade or update to another ROM? What should I do?
Because I'm getting worried for my phone due to those reasons.

Hey there, I did some research and it seems to be a german or european upgrade, not an international one
You wont know if its good or not until you try it.
