I gave my GF my old S4, and while it had a stock rom, it didn't have stock recovery. I'd like to install the new OTA update, but it doesn't work with TWRP. If I use ODIN to flash stock recovery will it factory reset the phone?
Odin the stock firmware will install stock recovery but It will leave your data untouched.

Hey guys.
I've got TWRP recovery installed.. but after three months I want to revert back to Clockworkmod Recovery.
I'm already gonna do a factory reset (because of problems and I want to be sure it's not a hardware fault..).
Though I'm not sure if I still got TWRP or got no recovery and can simply install one afterwards..
So simply my question: How do I get CWM on my device after a factory reset?
Thanks!
Just get the recovery img and flash it in fastboot.
Factory reset normally only wipes the data partition, unless you ran a RUU then your recovery will be untouched

Stock rooted with CF autoroot using odin, no recovery installed.
So I can just boot up in recovery and wipe right, since stock recovery is still there, I'll have a stock clean phone again?

Hello,
Im having a problem using ODIN to return to stock. It is going through the entire step of flashing the stock image and it reboots successfully but it doesn't work and my old ROM is still there. Any idea why?
After successfully flashed .tar via odin, restart to recovery and do a full wipe/factory reset.
It will return you back to full stock
