My AT&T HTC One M8 is currently running the WNC Lollipop ROM, radio/baseband: 1.24.21331147A1.09G and main/OS 4.16.1540.8. Is there a later firmware I should apply before moving to (e.g.) the InsertCoin ROM? Where do I find newer ROMs for the CWS__001?

Its a tricky question, as AT&T seems to be in the process of making changes to their LTE network in preparation of Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) deployment (HD Voice, as they call it) and this seems to be playing havoc for some folks on "Euro" based custom ROMs. Namely, not having voice call service or SMS while on LTEin some locations.
I'm also on the 4.16.1540 firmware, and its been working fine with SkyDragon Sense 7 on AT&T's network. And in multiple locations, as I just travelled to 2 different cities (in addition to my home market) and everything has been working fine on LTE.
All I can say, is try the desired ROM with the current firmware. If you notice any issue then try another firmware. I don't know if anyone has posted the latest AT&T 4.28 firmware, but you might check the AT&T M8 section for it, if you want to try it. I imagine the 4.28 firmware includes some AT&T specific radio tweaks. Although newer is not always better.

You should be able to flash any ROM intended for the "GSM" M8 (stay away from ROMs intended for Verizon or Sprint). Check the specific ROM thread to see if AT&T is supported, or at least if other AT&T users have tried it, if you want to be safe.
But as mentioned, you may or may not see LTE issues on some ROMs due to some AT&T network-specific factors. These issues seem somewhat isolated (maybe location dependent?) and I don't think any of the devs have had much luck addressing the issue. So trial and error is the best I can tell you.

This may have been asked before, but I didn't find the answer when I searched. I'm using a stock 2.3.4 Inc2 in GSM mode overseas (sim-unlocked, but no other changes). Are the ROM updates generally available to users of phones that are no longer activated on the Verizon network? Has HTC made Inc2 updates available in the past on their website (I see instructions there now, but no downloadable files)? I want to make sure that GSM telephony and data work well, so I am hesitant to flash new ROMs, but I do want to try out ICS when it is available with all the bells and whistles.

i dont believe that officially htc/verizon releases RUU's or any way to upgrade w/o using the verizon ota system
but stock roms like gingerbangsense "s" and bonestock for rooted users do the same thing essentially...but you need to be either s-off or htc dev unlock
Hello all, I've been following the M8 forum for a few weeks in anticipation of getting a new phone on May 8th. I have a bit of a noob question though, one that I've been unable to find the answer to myself.
Which version of ARHD 5.0 should I install on a T-Mobile HTC One M8? I've been following their thread for a while and intend to unlock/root/install ARHD within a few days of getting the device. I see mentions of the international version as well as different versions for each US carrier. My understanding is that GSM carriers can install international versions whereas CDMA carriers must install their specific variants.
If my understanding is correct and you are able to install the international version or the T-Mobile version, then what is the difference?
I appreciate any help. I'm not a complete noob when it comes to rooting and flashing roms, but I'm coming from a VZW Galaxy Nexus where it was pretty much idiot proof. I've been running the same ROM for so long that I know exactly how to flash it each time a new update is released. It didn't have specific variants because the ROM was designed specifically for the VZW Gnex. So I'm a little confused by the different variants and want to make sure I don't mess anything up a week after I get the phone.
Again, thanks to anyone who takes the time to help me wade through my confusion.
You can flash any GSM variant.
The differences will be whatever the carrier has done to tweak their version of the roms, included apps, tweaked settings, signal icons etc.

Thank you for confirming that. While I was like 90% sure, it's better to have someone confirm that for me.
hello everyone, my HTC ADR 6350 (incredible 2) is working weird whit the GSM network wich is the only one i use, everytime i flash a 4.2.2 rom the signal strenght is showing a weird Value (screenshot attached) if i configure a APN i lost completely the network connection and have to flash again a rom.
i tried flashing the lastest radio, changing rom but nothing works, the only rom that is working fine is the stock.
waiting for suggestions.
sincerely yours Mase.

Hmmm, what (customized) Rom version are you using? I still have two DI2 - retired from CDMA duties but running GSM on Sense-based GB ROM and they are working nicely for our needs. One is on T-Mo USA network and the other is on AT&T network.
Have you tried a different GSM ROM at all? Some of the newer 4.x ROM are nice & cool but not ready as a daily, IMO.

Actually i'm using Pac-Rom 4.2.2 from chilly, the thread says that 4.2.2 are suitable for daily use, the phone is working nice but i dont have signal bars (i can recieve and make calls, send and recieve messeges) i tried some patch and other GSM tweaks, using the Stock (or any Stock Based Rom) is working completely fine but i cant stand Sense even the 4.0.4 leaked Rom works fine i haven´t tried another ICS Rom.
another detail using the *#*#4636#*#* menu the radio turns on and off if i try to set the APN.
thread of the Rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049902
Both VZW and HTC dropped the balls in supporting the Incredible 2, leaving it behind the times in GingerBread land, and some of the most active & best XDA-developers have since moved onto other devices for their primary daily use.
We are no longer on VZW or CDMA and switched to Nexus 5's running latest KitKat - but, since we still got two DI2 in relatively near new conditions, I continue to play around with them with GSM carriers.
There are a few stable & solid 4.x custom/ported rom that run nicely on DI2 and they are a good match for GSM services - the newest ones released recently/this month are in alpha/beta stages and not solid/stable enough. If you are having issues with yours, I suggest switching to & trying a different one instead - there's nothing wrong with Sense Rom and if it works, that's all that matter for me.
Try this one, works for me - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291476

Not that I know of & I certainly don't recall discussions about it, way ahead of its time or arrival then in 2011-2012. Maybe the Jelly Bean ones could - to play with Xposed, I run back to our Nexus 5 and they are great for customization on our custom Rom.

Hello everyone. I have a Verizon M8 (unlocked/S-off), and I have switched to AT&T.
In order for my phone to work, I loaded ARHD (great ROM, btw), as the ROM I was using while I was on VZW did not want to play nice with the AT&T SIM card.
Everything is now working except for WiFi and LTE.
Based on what I've read, LTE on AT&T ain't happening on my device due to lack of frequency band support. But the WiFi problem is likely related to firmware, and therefore (I assume), fixable.
Here's my question: is it possible after I SuperCID my phone, to install the WWE firmware to fix the WiFi problem? Or will this brick my phone?
Thanks!

If your phone is from V you should stick to Verizon firmwares and kernels. There may be exception, but as far as i know Verizon and Sprint phones have other differences from GSM variants, not only firmware and/or kernel etc. Yes, your device can be used WW, but i'm pretty sure you cannot convert to full WWE. I went so far that i used QPST configurator and RFNV manager to unlock all the bands of my phone and yet i can't get LTE to work. I do hope someone here prove me wrong, but for now i'm happy i can use my phone in eastern Europe.
Thanks for the input. I was afraid of that. So I guess I'm stuck until new VZW firmware gets released, and then maybe my WiFi will work?
I guess I could look for a ROM that is using a different base and try that.

WiFi not working could be kernel related. What kernel are you running - stock or something else. I'm using lunarkernel+viperrom.
When i read carefully, you didn't mention on what firmware you run ARHD

Well, it's the right one for the job. My guess is kernel is causing non working WiFi, but i could be wrong. Did you tried some custom kernels?
With Lollipop 5.0 available for international variants such as the I9505, is it possible to simply flash that official rom, along with a U.S. modem to the SGH-m919?
I have read threads where CUSTOM ROMS are compatible with both the I9505 and M919, but not the stock I9505 rom already available.
Am I missing something obvious with this question because I know I am not the first to think of it. After comparing hardware specs of the two models, only the CPU looked different.
Has anyone successfully done this or has anyone done this and then needed a dozen workarounds only to get below par functionality? One of the reasons that I have not flashed to all of the current custom roms, is that each has "no Bluetooth support yet" or "Wifi calling not working." I truly respect the work of the modding community, as I can not do what it does, but I just do not want any more never ending workarounds simply to makes calls and texts. Flashing a rom? Yes. I run both T-Mobile and Metro versions of the latest M919 firmware/software.
Thanks much.
Bluetooth worked for me. WiFi calling will not work either way, no matter how official. Needs to be T-Mobile firmware. I think there is a guide to flash it in general thread if you're interested. I wouldn't do it

Thank you very much. I have spotty coverage where I live. I go from 4G LTE to no signal 20 feet from my house. I wanted to try Lollipop without using a custom, buggy rom. Many of the custom roms look fantastic and feel snappy but the list of "not working" and bugs to be fixed in next build is simply not worth it to me.
