Hey all...looking at trying this one out mainly because of the audio DAC. What are your thoughts on rooting this and removing Chinese bloatware?

And I had time to think, so I've decided not to take Xiaomi Mi Note Pro (i don't like it, cannot explain, why). Also i've refused to take VIVO X5Pro...
So now going to order subj.

In this period development usually slows down and stops until the custom Roms are upgraded to latest base.
Stock firmware isn't available.

Even the service center don't have Indian firmware! My device is sitting in service center for repair from last 1 month. I will not even suggest anyone to buy any scrap from honor again!

Stock firmware isn't available for now or it will never be available. What if I root my phone and then want the warranty back?

Similar things are said about all Chinese company. Even Redmi, Xiaomi experience is similar with users as they didn't have the part here in India and ask to wait to 15-20 days or a a month also.
Finally!

So finally got the device back in my hand after 1 month and 5 days. They have replaced motherboard for some silly software issue and took this long. Phone is amazing no question on that but i will suggest everyone to not play with it so much that you have to give it to service center.

Service centre is just waste of time and money. Apart from Samsung i have not seen others doing well here. Samsung does replacement very quick as parts are ready most of the time or max a week.
Apple is better too users dont need to visit as cost of parts are higher than phone itself (original screen for 5s cost 12k but phone is of 14-16k depending on the discount) so users visit electronic market likes gaffar market, chor bazar etc ans get it done with duplicate screen in 2k.
All other service centres are just a trouble for us.

I'm slightly better than your case (21 days). Replace motherboard, display, front cover, back cover, and 1 piece of Huawei crappy tempered glass. Basically it's like changing a brand new device.

Actually i did the mistake last time it's damn easy to go back stock just follow the restore stock tutorial and have valid firmware for your device. Boom done.. Keep it aside you get your phone back soon I'm happy for you!
I have already unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP, flashed Lineage 14.1 and rooted with Magisk. What else should I do that would contribute to my user experience? Other ROMs that you feel are superior to Lineage can be left here as well.

Yeah installed and ran it. Having a weird issue though, through some basic troubleshooting it seems I can't swipe through a portion of the screen, so mid scroll it will just stop. But I can still touch icons in that part of the screen so...? I have tried OOS, and Lineage and same issue. It might be hardware D:. Really don't want to have fault parts yet. Gonna open it tomorrow, could possibly be a lose connector but... I am doubtful.
Somehow I think you skipped the firmware updates with your flashing for testing. https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/radio-modem-collection-flashable-zips-t3468628 and there grab "4.5.0 - Download - Firmware + Modem" and flash it in TWRP and I hope you use blu_spark's TWRP... (https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=15934#downloads)
PA has its own firmware anyways so FW shouldn't be an issue there. And if the problem persists on all ROMs, it probably really is hardware.

Since it is hardware, and since I bought it off Swappa, he had a 30 day return. I am better off just returning and buying a new OnePlus 3 than replacing digitizer myself right? Really disappointing got all excited.
If you can, sure. No point in trying to repair it if you can get a new one without additional cost.
Also, AFAIK OnePlus does not sell parts to third parties, so anything you find out there is not genuine but aftermarket.

I strongly recommend the purchase of the Redmi Note 5 China version or Global version because it is better in photo and other areas (better 4G coverage,...).
It is not so sure that Xiaomi will solve this problem in the nearest future

What are the differences among the Official Chinese ROM vs Official Global and EU ROM? Which is best for someone living in NYC?

China - bloatware - no need
Global - useless - no need
Eu - everything global has and more regarding updates, root ability, and twrp working without issues.
EU. Plain and simple. Anyone tells you otherwise, they haven't tested enough.

Hi opasha,
Appreciate that. But I need to touch on something I asked you before. I researched the xiaomi mi a2. It works on verizon flawlessly even when verizon implies it may not work on their network. In like manner and the fact that both phones are xiaomi, do you think the mi max 3 can still work on verizon?

I've got to be honest , with the options for Miracast ( built in) and Chromecast ( using apps) i would have thought plugging in a phone these days is a bit superfluouse. I've been using both to cast my phone to a Projector ,TV and Speakers, and have not even thought about USB 3 leads now.

Its been back in stock via Amazon for a week now, I definitely would have recommended buying via Amazon instead of OnePlus directly, the warranty through them is better.
