Hey,
after my Tab 3 10.1 (P5200) got the KitKat update not so long ago, it went to an kinda unusable state, due to the cant write on External SD Card thingy.
So yesterday after checking out my options (Root or Update to Android 5) I decided to go for the root, since the Android 5 version is supposed to be a bit buggy.
Anyway, after my initial Odin try the tablet stuck at the "Galaxy Tab 3" logo, I think it was due to having a slightly different version than the root file was for.
So after that failed, I downloaded my stock firmware (P5200XXUBOB1_P5200DBTBOB1_P5200XXUBNK1) and also used Odin, which resulted in my tablet starting flawless again. But since it was the stock version, unrooted again, which is again, an unusable state.
So I went with this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-10/rom-100-stock-4-4-2-kitkat-p5200-t2866066) thread, and tried the rooted version, put it in the root of my SD Card and installed it per recovery menu, which "worked" but got me stuck on the Samsung logo (side note: The music clip that playes when the logo gets outlined by the blue circle does not play completly, the last few moments are cut), after waiting for quite some time I thought I just go back to odin and install the stock firmware again. Sadly this only got me to the Samsung logo again.
Now I tried quite a few things...
I installed another stock version (Instead of the german one, i used one from luxembourgh)
I tried to install 4.2.2 again
The last thing I tried was to install the recovery menu from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442915), so here is something that could be interessting. I tried to do a Factory reset before trying to reinstall the stock firmware, which worked only partially, I could not mount /config, which he wanted to do to delete it I guess.
When I tried to manually mount /config it would also fail. (Not sure if thats relevant, but its the only thing that did not worked as expected)
So, everything I tried, with factory reset and stuff ended in a stuck at the Samsung logo. In one case (not sure what combination of stuff) I got in the bootloop (Galaxy Tab 3 -> Restart -> Galaxy Tab 3 -> Restart), in a rare case I just got stuck at Galaxy Tab 3, and in most of the cases I got stuck at Samsung logo (Start -> Galaxy Tab 3 -> Samsung).
So I hope somebody can help me, since Id rather not buy a new tablet only because google thought it was a cool idea to prevent apps from writing on ext SD Card, and me ****ing something up in the flash process.
My Tablet is a Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 (GT-P5200) and at the moment with the 4.4.2 build "P5200XXUBOB1_P5200DBTBOB1_P5200XXUBNK1" (atleast thats the filename of the stock firmware im using, downloaded from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/43847/P5200XXUBOB1_P5200DBTBOB1_DBT/), I used Odin 3.07 and Odin 3.09.
I can access the Odin/Download mode, the build in recovery mode, and could use the TWRP recovery mode if I were to install it with Odin.
I still didnt solve it, every help would be greatly appreciated, I really dont want a paper weight in tablet format

I've made a mistake after a successful week following installing and running a custom ROM.
After Rooting the GT-I8160 a year ago and having no updates from Samsung since new it took me
a few days setting the phone up jumping from GB to CM11 so I didn't spot that ROOT access had been lost until this morning.
Tinkering with the internals didn't have the fear it held when first buying the phone on the Orange network in the UK
so I deleted Titanium Backup & Supersu but re-installing still left things un-rooted.
So I went straight to the original guide I followed on Cnets and rooted it again .... as I'd easily gained access to the ROM holding
down the 3 buttons manys times now and could do it again if I had trouble. ODIN carried out its job but when the phone restarted
it would get no further than the Splash screen Samsung Galaxy etc. In this position I tried to get it into Recovery mode keeping my
fingers on the buttons until it would turn off and restart, the only difference is when I try the Download mode the following appears
on screen;
Applying Multi-csc ........
Installing Multi-csc
Can't access to '/System/csc/EVR/system
Successfully applied Multi csc.
At the top of the screen it gives the option to Re-boot but again goes as far as Splash Screen where it remains.
I hope I've not killed the phone and that you can suggest how I can re-set it with the aid of Odin - the only access point.
:crying: Have I 'Bricked' it ...... put me out of my misery
Problem Resolved
After more investigating I saw a link recommending downloading the Firmware for Russia Ace 2 as it was the only one that whilst using ODIN
it had the files for PDA, Phone and CSC. After running this it got my phone up & running then from the same site - SamMobile I got the FW for UK & Orange which after 'wiping data/factory resets' brought my phone back to the day I'd purchased it. :victory:
Hope this may help anyone else who fears the end of their phone
As I understand you wanted flash CM11 on GB. If you want flash any custom rom above GB your baseband must be JellyBean. Just remeber
Experienced Galaxy rooter here. I used Odin Mode on the Sg3 as well as my gf Pro tab 8.4 and my 10.1 as well. Ive never had problems until now. So here's what happened today:
This morning
I decided to install Twrp using Flashify. Having been rooted for months, it worked. I then installed Cm 11 using TWRP. I wiped cache and installed gapps from goo manager. Everything went smooth. I played around with it for about an hour. No problem.
Then I installed Team freezes ROM. I used flashify. Everything seemed normal, then I realized I couldn't get past Samsung title screen. So i plugged up to Odin and installed stock Recovery. Nothing. Reinstalled TWRP... can't get into Twrp. Used Odin again to install Phillz.. Nothing.
Once again I installed original stock through Odin. Here I am again stock at the Samsung boot screen. I can only do three things 1. Turn off 2. Reset 3.odin mode
What do i do?
I just want to get this thing to boot so i can see what happened or at lest into some sort of recovery where i can load from sd
If you're in Download (Odin) Mode....
Make sure you have S/N on hand.
Enter Download Mode and run KIES3, choose Firmware Upgrade and Initialization
Enter model number and S/N
Returning to bone stock may take an hour, so make sure the battery is fully charged. Moreover, YOUR TAB WILL BE TOTALLY WIPED AND GO BACK TO BONE STOCK!

Thanks for this. I lost my system due to System Cleaner 2 fudgin' it up on reboot. I was about to hassle Best Buy into an exchange but gave this a try. I thought I had it made by doing a factory reset but even that didn't work. Luckily Kies came to the rescue after I figured out they wanted a generic model SM-T320, not the rest of it. Again thanks to you mate!
Hello together
I got a Note 8.0 and I tried to start it. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 sign appears and then the tablet freezes.
I can enter the download mode (everything is official there), but not the recovery mode.
What did I tried to do:
I flashed several recoveries (CivZ-Touch-6.0.4.4., CWM-Recovery, philz_touch_6.07.9, TWRP-2850 and stock recoveries) which worked.
I flashed two different stock ROMs with odin and the passed, but the tablet still does not start
Tried to root tablet with "CF-Auto-Root-konawifi-konawifixx-gtn5110", also passed with odin. A red Android man appeared and it told me something like mount error.
Does anyone have another approach? If not, I will return the tablet.
Thank you in advance!
Greetings and a nice Sunday,

I purchased a tablet for my son used for Christmas and it has been working well until the other day when it will not charge and it only boots the the Samsung Galaxy TabPro screen. I have tried the button combinations to get to the recovery screen but it never comes up. It was rooted with Cyanogenmod prior to me purchasing. I can get to the screen that says Downloading... Do not turn off target!!. I downloaded Odin and tried to flash a new image which seemed to upload fine but the same issue occurs. Any ideas?
Thank you
Are you full wiped after flashing the ROM , included Cache and Dalvik ?
Download samsung kies the first one not 2 or 3 and put in model and serial number to get stock firmware. Attach your tablet and put it in download mode. You will be stock again and of course you have the option to root but you will have to do that after flashing the stock firmware. That should fix your problem. I have the Samsung kies file for a 64 bit computer if u need it.
It might be a bad battery.

I have a Galaxy Tab3 7.0 SM-T210 that we've owned for a long time, but I now want to use it for more things and find it a little clunky and slow compared to our more up to date smart phones. So i wanted to flash with a newer version of Android, but the tablet now appears to be bricked showing the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" screen and it won't do anything else. It won't enter download mode or recovery mode.
I came across these instructions to take me from a stock tab, and upgrade to Android 9.0 theupgradeguide.com/2019/09/17/install-android-9-0-pie-on-samsung-galaxy-tab-3-7-0-lineageos-16-how-to-guide
I loaded TWRP successfully using Odin and was able to set up a Nandroid backup. I then moved on to part 5 to perform a factory reset of the device, which was successful. This is where it started to go wrong though! I chose the reboot option after the wipe, rather than as per the instructions going back to the TWRP main menu. The tab rebooted and would't get past the Samsung logo. It went back in to download mode when I tried, and then tried to flash with a stock version of KitKat Android. Odin recognised the tab connected, it accepted the .tar flash file, and the tab showed the progress bar showing the download happening. Then Odin failed after a few minutes, and then the firmware upgrade failure error message appeared.
After lots of internet searching I've tried the following:
1. Putting it in download mode, doesn't work!
2. Putting it in recovery mode, doesn't work!
3. Connecting it to Kies, device not recognised and latest version of Kies doesn't have the option to manually select your device to reload the firmware!
4. Tried using ADB, device isn't recognised!
So i'm at a loss what to do to fix it, can anyone help?!
I was just trying to do the same yesterday. It all went fine with backing up and wiping, but TWRP didnt accept the image I downloaded.
It is so sad to have a capable hardware limited due lack of manufacturer care (not even saying updates, because they updated the android version at the time, but lack of optimization and how my tablet became sluggish, gave me disgust of any samsung branded device).
Can't you get to TWRP screen anymore?
If you can get to Odin download mode, trying reflashing Odin (perhaps a different version).
