I'm liking the update so far, but missing a couple of things.
1. I loved having the Menu button option and long press for recent apps. I can't find any setting to get that combo any more.
2. I used to be able to drag up from the bottom and on the right side get the quick memo button which would essentially take a screenshot. Now all i get is the option to go into Google now.
Has anyone figured out how to get those options back?
Thanks!

I can at least answer your first question.
I know that installing G2 Xposed from Play AFTER obtaining root, installing TWRP using Autorec by @bender_007 , AND installing the Alpha4 of Xposed (still says Alpha2 in the D/L link) you can dig into the Nav Buttons and change the Recents button to Settings. I personally am not a fan of doing so, but you are.
Hope this helps.

I'd stay far away from G2 Xposed. It's a terrible, buggy app. It was a nightmare on the Cloudy G2 ROM and I expect no different on any other software, stock or not. As soon as the navbar section is opened, it changes the recents button to a menu one, and it can't be changed back. It also forces the button combination menu in display to crash everytime an attempt to open it is made. The only way to undo the damage is to completely wipe the device and flash a ROM fresh.
Now, like I said, I saw that on the Cloudy G2 ROM. Every time someone had an issue with the button combination menu, it was always G2 Xposed. With our G2 now getting the G3 UI, I expect it's going to cause issues on the stock ROM as well. Beware.
The G2 Xposed thread was shutdown by mods quite a while back here on Xda.

Yeah I noticed that. I'm glad I had a TWRP backup because that was an impossibility to revert no matter what I did... The setting button was the only issue I had with KK on the G2.
I recommended it to him because he wanted the setting button and it did that magically.
All I want is to unite the ringtone and notification sounds :crying:

I want to get rid of the spinning spark icon but I may have to go back to KK to make that happen. I tried several Xposed modules and none would switch icons for that. I used G3 Tweaksbox previously in the Cloudy ROM and G2 Tweaksbox on stock.

I was looking for a non-root solution. This is the first phone where i have felt the hardware and software was good enough to not have to root.

Hey y'all. So while we wait for the inevitable lawsuits where people start suing Samsung for this insanely ridiculous volume warning (which I find ALWAYS kicks in just as I'm getting up to speed on the highway - what a coincidence that I'd need to turn up the volume right as the wind noise picks up), what are the best solutions for turning off this thing?
I really need the wifi calling feature, so I need to stick with a TouchWiz rom. I'm on Wicked v4 right now. I've installed the Nottach Xposed framework - which is pretty awesome, but unfortunately it occasionally disables my camera (camera on the back of the phone goes black until I disable Nottach). Nottach isn't currently officially supported for the SGH-M919. Are there any t-mobile native solutions, preferably within Wicked?

Turned that on before doing the Nottach method. Doesn't help at all for me.
There is no volume warning when playing via Bluetooth

My ROM has it removed. Also has a lot of other cool features tweaks. If you don't like it I'll think about making a flashable zip to disable.

Nottach works fine for me on the M919 at least to disable the volume warning. Have you at least tried it?

Yes, as I said it works fine, but will intermittently disable the camera.

Oh, forgot to respond to this - what is your ROM? I didn't see a link in your sig or anything? I think I'd prefer not to flash a new ROM at this particular moment (not that inconvenient, but I'm also stunningly busy), but I'll probably check it out eventually.
That said, I'd love a flashable zip and I imagine most people would. I was just looking around I found that it looks like you already did it - is that zip only flashable on your ROM or what?
P.S. I dunno if it just never worked or if it stopped working, but I decided to go back to Nottach and I was still getting the volume warning after changing that setting, so I dunno that it actually works. Grrr.
Hi guys, I am relatively new and I had a question after I flashed my first rom, the Wicked Rom v5. However, I was sad to realize that a lot of the tweaks I did in the Wicked Rom Controller such as long press menu to kill app and pie controls didn't work. Am I doing something wrong? because I can't seem to get the long menu press to close the app, or open up pie controls. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks
im in the same boat im wondering how to open pie in wicked too but nothing i do will turn it on i hope some can help
and also the unlock effect i saw on the new video of wicked that there lighting and fire effects but i only have the default ones how to i gets these effects too?(no one seems to know)
You will get better results if you ask these questions in the development thread of the rom your referring to .

Make sure you are touching the correct activation area and that you are starting the TouchService from PieControl settings. Also, try restarting the phone after you change anything in ROM Control.
Here is what I have found works. I take no credit for anything below. I will link directly to the appropriate thread. Please give them thanks.
For the majority of these, you will need rovo89's xposed framework.
Modules:
G2 Tweakbox - P_toti. This has so many functions that work on the g pro. Including the abilty to enable the hidden settings in your home screen settings. This is a great way to enable the theme chooser. (See post 2)
Double tap status bar to sleep - zst123. Works flawlessly.
Ok Google Hotword detection - MohammedAG. Works great.
Out of time.. will add more shortly.
Link to stock 4.4.2 apps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4416141
Install xposed framework and g2 tweakbox, reboot.
Open g2 tweakbox, choose lg launcher tweaks.
Enable the option to show hidden lg launcher settings, reboot.
Open your home settings, you will now see this option.

Open hidden settings, and use the search function to search theme. Disable feature_hide_theme_settings, enable feature_use_theme as shown below.
Hit your home button to refresh the system ui. You will now have the theme option under menu/ home screen settings.
Enjoy!
Careful in the hidden settings, some things dont work. Easy ui, etc.

Just an FYI:
I am using Gravity Box KK and it's giving me system crashes. I went to the official GB thread here on XDA to see if anyone could help me diagnose the problem, but everyone there is now yelling at me because the developer states on the first post that GB is ONLY for AOSP roms. So, despite the module working perfectly fine until recently, they are telling me that I'm an idiot for using GB in the first place.
BTW: If you need help from them, don't visit that forum. Everyone there is an a-hole and will not be helpful. Even if you are wrong, they will just attack you instead of telling you nicely.

The only other modules I have installed are App Settings (just to enable screen rotation for a few apps) and Youtube AdAway.
I did have the SlideAside port installed at the time of the crashing. I had to factory reset my device in order to fix the crashes, and currently I have GB 3.1.7 installed with no SlideAside. It's been a good portion of the day so far and no crashes.
Lots of OGP people say they are not having crashes, but the people on the thread are telling me that GB is not compatible with our phone. Yet, the developer is actually really nice and is telling me to ignore them and post a log if the crashes start again. He'll help me figure out the cause.

I agree with you. I can't get decent support from that thread. Really suck.
I finally got around to trying this and it worked!
I thought I read it on here somewhere, but my sleepy eyes can't seem to find it, but once you enable the settings, can you disable or uninstall the G2 Tweakbox and still have the Themes option remain in the menu? I tried this, but the theming engine kept crashing every time I selected a theme. BUT I also had like 20 themes installed, which could've overloaded the system. I then reenabled the G2 tweaksbox and uninstalled some unwanted themes (was testing them anyway), and then everything worked fine again. I now have like 6 themes installed.

Do you want to see the themes in the theme picker? Or to see them applied to the homescreen (seeing how the themes actually change the homescreen)?

It turns out that I can disable G2 Tweaksbox and still use themes. I just can't have too many themes installed at once.
I actually need to disable G2 Tweaksbox because it's causing other people to have a hard time hearing me on the phone!
I actually donated to the developer ($1) and unlocked the full app, and a lot of the options work for the OGP, but even with no phone tweaks enabled, the people still can't hear me very well over the phone. They keep claiming that I'm breaking up. And I have full bars too, so it isn't reception (and it's in my house, where I've never had this issue before). Disabling G2 Tweaksbox makes me clear over the phone again.
EDIT: Ignore the second part. My phone was severely messed up and I had to reflash stock Kitkat.
FYI: Yeah, if you donate the $1 to the developer of G2 Tweaksbox, you can unlock all the options and most of them work on the OGP!
I used it instead of GravityBox because GravityBox was intended for AOSP only (not stock ROMS) and it was giving me issues with my screen not turning on when I received a phone call.

I just got the LG G3 and love it. The phone is awesome, but theres just not enough reason for me to root at the moment. I know its new but I'll wait for more roms and other features to come out. I would like more themes. I really don't want to DL a launcher. I used Themer but apparently it gives me some kind of not compatible because of the resolution, something like.
I thought the same thing, but ended up rooting my G3 anyway.
Small tweaks using G3 tweakbox were worth it, such as removing carrier IQ on lockscreen, adding dedicated menu buttons on the nav bar,
showing ram availability in recent apps menu, etc.

to each their own but I have never owned a phone and not take root. Just being able to freeze/uninstall unwanted apps, freezing updates and doing minor tweaks is enough reason besides loading custom recoveries and roms.
Takes time so I don't understand why even make the thread?
I root it solely for fixing memory card problem.

This. I will say that I was happy without root until the microlag got to me. The force close of my google services was the last straw. I now have no lag on my device and have made it much better imo with the tweaks mentioned earlier in this thread. I really wish we had an AOSP rom for it though.
SD card issue, g3 tweakbox, viper4android, xposed.
That hsould be enough for you to root

G3 tweakbox is awesome app, I did the paid version.... (also needs xposed framework to run), I guess i need to research whats goin on with SD card...I assume to be the ext-sd card. Not sure about viper4andriod....I D/L'd and asked about updating drivers and choices were not very intuitive. I'm happy to a have TWRP and TiBu up and running as well.
having a choice of root or not....really is a no-brainer if you want to do any thing to your smart phone, otherwise why have it?
There's a thread for everything, so I figure I make one to see if there are others on the same boat. Yes, I would love to root my phone but I'm going to wait for a bit. I would love to see more developers working on more roms to get that "wow" effect. I've always root as soon as I get a phone but I usually get a phone thats been out for a while and to see tons of roms. This is my first phone that I ever had thats only been released in only a week. So I'm excited to see what comes out from these developers.
I personally like to root right away for the simple fact if I screw up I'm still within the 14 day return policy

I also feel like there is no real need to root. For me, anyway. I rooted my s4 asap but for this one I finally feel like I don't have to root to enjoy it. Frankly I'm just not as interested in flashing **** like I used to.

Just add the title says I've been having this issue ever since i started flashing custom ROMs. This only happens in custom ROMs with either custom kernel (flash) or built in kernel. At the most random times when i go to wake my device the screen will stay black but the phone is still responsive. Led light still flashing from notifications I'm trying to check i can still toggle flashlight but holding the power button and etc. It's just the dam screen refuses to wake until around 20/30 seconds!! No one else is having this problem in the rom threads which would be DU help thread, NOS, and AquariOS THREADS. I've tried everything to remedy the problem including clean flashes whipping caches no modifications. Nothing has worked. Just wondering if anyone experienced the same thing and how to solve the problem. Thanks in advance.

That's why i posted here because i don't wanna keep spamming the threads. I would've thought to RMA but this never ever happens on stock+root+flash kernel. It's so frustrating because it's so hard to pin point what's going on so I'll try a clean flash tonight after work and then i will only install Flash kernel and magisk (those can't be the culprits and i would refuse to believe if anyone said otherwise) I'm also only gonna install my basic most needed apps it has to be one of my user apps not playing nice with custom ROMs but every single app i have running right now on AquariOS is the same exact apps and setup i have on my twrp backup of stock. This just don't make sense. Stock is really really nice on this phone but i still prefer custom ROMs for certain much needed features that i either can't get from stock or have to install some mod or something. Thanks for keeping tabs in me tho Badger!!?? Your a good man really appreciate your help bro

I also saw it might be to do with smart lock, have you got any of them set? It is being looked into so dont worry you are not alone. Last time it happened to me I just added another fingerprint and then it was fine.
Just a thought, but this is known to be an issue with various immersive modes. Are using immersive modes on these custom roms, or is it already built in?

IM is built in on some of the roms, however, you can choose to enable them or not. It's a feature I've never used, and haven't had any of these issues, so you may be onto something my friend ?

Ok ok you guys are probably right?? I always use immersive mode on all three custom ROMs and I also use it in stock ROM via custom navigation bar app but line I said stock ROM never produces these issues. So I will check smart lock but I've never used it and I will turn off immersive mode and I will add 1 or 2 more fingerprints and then report back. THANKS AGAIN GUYS.

The Custom Navigation Bar app dev has said that they identified and fixed that issue in their app. That would explain why you don't experience the issue while on stock using that app, but do have it on custom ROMs using some other immersive mode method.

That explains so much! Thank you for clearing that up for me. I've already disabled immersive mode from Coral reef settings in Aquarius ROM and haven't had the issue all day. I hope devs can fix immersive mode in custom ROMs as well but i can live without it for now. Thanks again man.
