Hi, I am considering a Verizon or AT&T LGG3 when they become available.
I had two questions about the LGG3 functionality:
Does the LGG3 have the capability to select which on-screen navigation buttons appear at the bottom (Menu, Home, Back, Task Switcher), and the order of those buttons? The LGG2 had this feature.
With the Circle Cover on, what features are available through the circle if I always lock my phone (currently with a pattern lock)?
Thanks,
¿GJ?
check the user manual
Hi, The Sprint G3 Usre manual is available for download!
I guess you can get the answers from that manual, Just google "LG LS990 User manual". I should not post the link here.
From what I have seen in many reviews, youtube videos and so on...
1. It is exactly similar to G2. There are options for different layouts, though I don't think it allows users to change the order freely.
2. As seen on video reviews of quick circle case, apart from different clock widgets and weather data, there are plenty of options to show and/or use with it, you can answer or place a call, listen to music, health app, even camera and the gallery app. As you may guess, they are select stock LG apps that can be used in circle view. Believe 3rd party app support will come soon as LG has released the relevant SDK for developers already.

Yes it does. You can rearrange the 3 built in ones and add up to 2 of the following: Qmemo, notifications , qslide and dual windows
Thanks for the responses, everybody!

Hi, iLHaNroID - Do you know if all (or, any) of these would be available when the phone is password/pattern locked? I always have my phone protected by some method. If some of these features are disabled when the phone is locked, it would reduce the rationale for purchasing the circle case (for me).

I have preordered mine from my carrier (Three/Swe) and unfortunately it hasn't arrived yet (ETA w26/27) so unfortunately I can't answer this specific question. The quick circle case was one of the reasons underlying my decision. I hv waited to see what LG would bring onto the desk before jumping any of the htc, sony and samsung bandwagons. Other points that played role in that are qhd display, back buttons, customizable navigation buttons, clear and loud sound, wireless charging, removable battery etc (no need to count others imo). The only samsung made device attracting me is the Note series, but they are extremely big in hand and s-pen is not something I would want to use and take benefits in daily usage, it can be considerable with tablets though. So believe I won't regret my purchase, otherwise I can consider about trading it with Note 4 if I think it worths then.

Is there an .apk out there to give the G3 a more AOSP style lockscreen?
I will use knock code while traveling or while @ client sites, but during my personal time am really missing the simple lock key slide.
You can actually see one on the stock G3 lockscreen when you long press the lockscreen widget. So far Tweaksbox, Gravity, etc. modules do not really provide the same lockscreen mechanism (at least my experience has been this).
I have also seen several play store options but none of them seem to really emulate the simple experience of the lock key slide.

Last I knew a true AOSP Lockscreen was going to be hard to do. See this on Reddit
http://www.reddit.com/r/lgg2/comments/23h88t/aosp_lockscreen_on_442/
It's regarding the same issue on a G2 running 4.4.2 which I'd imagine would be the same case with our G3s.
I'm with you though I'd like to have that Lockscreen back but not sure we'll get it on stock.

Thanks for the link...4.4.2 seems to be the link.
Hello,
I'm not on an LG G3, but I really envy its latest lockscreen (the 5.0 Lollipop one, I mean), since you can have notifications and lockscreen in the same screen , without having to swipe notifications and then unlock the screen (with code, glyph or whatever).
Is there a way to extract the LG G3 lockscreen and use it on a Samsung GSII?
Can anyone provide a link/dump?
Many thanks in advance

So that's really out of the question? No option to import LG framework as well, so to make it work?

you can't import it, you could port it but you would lose faetures and alot of time making it work. it is easier to download an simular app from google play instead

I am an owner of an italian LG G3 D855. I want to move to lollipop (v20H) from kitkat. I heard that v20H is the best so far. So what's the pros and cons for moving to lollipop? can anyone list them here so i can decide what to do? Please and thanks
nicer ui, heads up notifications, lock screen notifications, better notification drawer, etc. make a nandroid of your current set up, jump to LP, and if you don't like it, it'll take you 5 minutes to revert
Hey, guys. Quick question. How the heck do I change the settings from List View to Tab View? Those 3 dots are not at the top. This T-Mobile variant seems to be different from the others.
Hello.
I just bought the Korean version coming from a G5 and there's also no 3 dots in settings allowing to enable tab View
I was sad to see it but I guess it was too different for most people even if it was part of LG UX DNA. I feel they wanted to make the phone look like an iPhone.

I think I've pretty much gotten used to List View by now.
Same here, I was afraid to be lost but they group settings like in tabs view and some menus are equal to older LG UX versions.
