Please make sure you have a recent back up of your phone. Also doubly make sure to backup your /efs folder and your /dev/block/platform/15570000.ufs/by-name/RADIO device. There is a risk of permanently bricking your device if the radio upgrade fails. Remember this is all at your own risk. I promise no function or fitness of use. This will probably cause your phone to blow up and start a thermonuclear war and trip your Knox counter

Since its such a precious folder I would do this
tar cf /data/local/tmp/efs.tar /efs/*
dd if=/dev/block/platform/15570000.ufs/by-name/EFS of=/data/local/tmp/efs.img
then adb pull those files to your computer and put them in a safe place
After reading the stuff in red.....I'm certain I will not flash this....Lol

What changes, if any, have been made to the original dump that @Sunderwear provided? I assume you replaced the app_process files, but any other changes?

I did that a bit differently. Supersu made backups of the original files. I just restored those. No other changes other then making a user friendly zip

Looking at the package, it only replaces your System partition, your Kernel, and your Radio.
An Odin-to-Stock would theoretically revert any damage this could do.

Understood, flashing Radios is srs bsns.
In other news, the updater-binary isn't working for me. ... Using TWRP.

Are you using the twrp posted in the op? Are you doing sideload or straight from the device (fwiw I only tested sideload) gimme a second and I'll add a md5sum
EDIT: MD5 (blck_tw_511_samsung_oe6.zip) = 6a96ab53a25ff76fb263a06a7efa256f
EDIT2: Just downloaded from mega and the file matches the original's md5
I say the first bricked phone will happen within 2 hours..
Folks, if you dont REALLY know what you are doing, please reconsider flashing this. And, if you dont know what ADB is, or what sideloading means, do NOT flash this...
And, mega thanks to the OP for putting this out there for the early adopters! :good::good:

Can you expand a bit on what this exactly means- the two lines of script you posted here- are those the ADB pull lines we would use?
Just want to be completely clear on what we have to do to backup before we flash this ROM. Step by Step would be great.
Thanks again for all your work on this!

Howdy everyone!
Here's the latest firmware straight from LGE...
http://downloads.codefi.re/thecubed...IN_LGE980AT-01-V10k-310-410-JUN-07-2013-0.zip
Code:
$ md5sum BIN_LGE980AT-01-V10k-310-410-JUN-07-2013-0.zip
2044d4a4c3159cd0537caefdf1f6ee13 BIN_LGE980AT-01-V10k-310-410-JUN-07-2013-0.zip
It would seem that the zip file doesn't extract with some extractors. I'll re-zip it again here shortly and release a 'fixed' copy.
I have yet to test this file yet, so flash at your own risk!
It does appear that the bootloader is indeed different between the old and new firmware versions, however the difference is just the signature. The actual content of the bootloader's code sections has not changed.
There does indeed appear to be a different (newer?) kernel in the boot.img that's included:
Per the img file header:
Code:
NEW: 0x0066b5c0
OLD: 0x0066a058
Just a heads up in case anyone's wondering.
Also, turning this into a TWRP flashable image is going to be.. interesting.

Yeah, I catted them all together with:
Code:
cat *-system.img > system.img
truncate -s +500MB system.img
mount -o loop system.img /mnt/phonesystem
However, strangely enough there's nothing in /bin or /etc ... and I get lots of EXT4 errors in my kernel dmesg.
I believe it's possible that the LGBinExtractor doesn't like this TOT.. I'll extract it manually later today.
I've only compared the bootloader (ABOOT) to make sure nothing has changed, but I've yet to do that for rpm, tz, modem, and the SBL stack.
Once I've figured out what has changed (and what we should change) I'll put it all into an update.zip that we can flash from recovery.

It's necessary. That's why it's listed as a requirement.
No kitkat touchwiz rom will boot on your device otherwise.
Love your work Cnexus but Im hoping you would provide a little clarification.
1) Since you say this requires installation of the stock Tar Im assuming this will still have Knox built in? specifically in the bootloader I know the apps can be deleted but the bootloader is separate.
2) If I flash the ND8 tar can I downgrade to a previous version ?

I think the problem with your zip not booting is that he said he was on the 4.1.2 bootloader still
Ahhh ok. Yup, that'd make sense. Either way, this one is up and running in its own thread so theres not much reason to worry about mine now anyway. No big deal. Ill focus on building the full odin flashable firmware and an I747 port for Tmobile instead.

Nor is your remark. XDA would be a much more pleasant environment if people would tend to themselves. Here, matter of fact, I'll thank your worthless post seeing as that's the only possible reason you could have for interjecting yourself into a conversation that had zero to do with you. Was glad to see him around, he has said before he doesn't mind some general chit chat in his threads so I simply said glad to see him, wth does that have to do with you! I have looked over your posts here and you offer little, welcome to my growing ignore list, I will make XDA enjoyable again for myself, 1 ignore at a time.

I flashed the updated recovery then flashed cloudyfa last build, installed fine for me. Going by what is known so far I guess it's best to go back if we want to flash any of the AOSP based builds for now.
I have stock 10m, can I dirty flash the partitions from 10r and nothing would be deleted?
can i please get pointed into the right direction to the latest rom from cloudyfa?

Pure stock kernel for unlocked bootloaders with TWRP 2.8.6.0 recovery.
Created using flashtool and mkbootimg.
Rename odin.img.apk to boot.img and fastboot it to have UB stock kernel with TWRP.
To root, download Chainfires latest flashable zip from Here.
Then reboot and press press volume up when blue LED turns on to enter TWRP recovery, and flash the zip from the stored location.
NOTE: I don't own this device, but based on my work for Yuga, Some ZL users have requested I do the same for Odin.
Please test and report your findings here :good:

FLASHABLE ZIP
TWRP 2.8.7.0
Its working, installed and rooted with no problems at all.
:good: :good:ZL 454!!!
God bless you!
It took two weeks to someone release this, a simple thing that makes a huge difference in our devices. Thanks a lot!
If you want so give me any tip how to do a job like yours, I would try to update the lighting kernel to work on lollipop.

That would mean building the LP kernel from sources. This is just stock kernel extracted from kernel.sin, and packed into a boot.img with TWRP recovery added.
If you want to make a custom kernel, go ahead. Just split the boot.img and swap the stock zImage with the custom one.
I won't be building custom kernels for this device. Sorry.

Audio Stuttering
Audio stuttering issues are there after flashing the recovery.
Using music application and viper4android.
Used viper4android before flashing the recovery ,no issues were there till than.
Please find a solution.
Thank You:fingers-crossed:

As stated in the op, I don't own the device so I can't replicate the issue. But kernel and ramdisk are pure stock, so I can't understand why the problem exists.

FLASHABLE ZIP
TWRP 2.8.7.0
You should just stay away from V4A, I tried it out during kitkat, and all it did was make the audio experience worse and crack the speaker and headphones.
Just installed this, fantastic, it works perfectly and I have a recovery again, for some reason android just deleted my last one two weeks ago.

I already have unlocked boot-loader as I already have TWRP installed. So, should I go ahead and flash this file? Will it be good for my mobile?
I am a bit scared as last time also I almost bricked my phone.

You'll be fine. Just make sure you are on 10.6.A.0.454 first.
