Nope, not a single sense reboot yet.
Yes, have had this a couple of times but can put up with it as its been the best phone to date.
The HTC browser is the app that causes a Sense restart most on my One X, but it's not the only app to cause it. I get around 3-6 Sense reboots a day.
these kind of problems are easily solved by Superchrager, but needs root
Sense did not crash. Ics quit sense to free up ram whenever user runs a heavy app. The real problem is ics memory management prefers to kick foreground apps started by user and system process like sense instead of the dozens of cached background apps and bloatware not even started by the user. Htc is partly to blame for not making sense system persistent. But even so this ics behaviour makes smooth multitasking between 2 heavy apps like browser and maps unreliable and slow unless user makes a conscious effort to maximize available free ram on the device.
Edit: oh yes the 2year old nexus one running android 2.2 with 512 mb ram and single core processor multitasks much better than the quad core one x. I not trying to bash. Thats a fact.

Ahh, ok. This makes sense or uhh, no sense..? LOL. Thank you s
I have noticed that the HTC Agenda Widget crashes sense almost all the time.
So far browser is ok for me.
It seems to me flash makes this issue worse
If I go on certain websites that run flash - As the flash is streaming or loading. Both the browser and sense crash - well the browser crashes then when I kill it and go back "Home" I find sense reloading.
If I "Wait" for the browser to come back - it never comes back.
After this has happened once, my flash performance becomes none existant - it wont even stream a low quality video without crashing the browser.
According to HTC I have to factory reset to fix it. Looks like I will be staying away from the problem websites untill a few updates are released.
I used to run this "ROM" not the exact build - but I has ICS sense 4.0 ported onto my Incredible S - I never had this issue - even the website that cause me a problem now work absolutely fine. I presume it's a Tegra optimization issue?
Had the same issue with Sense crashing constantly. However, I resolved by unticking Fast Boot under settings and clearing Sense cashe. Then rebooted the phone and the problem was resolved. It was "crashing" 10x a day, but has not re-occurred since in the last week.

I have still had browser crashes. but....
I noticed fast boot was on yesterday I went to boot into recovery and it just booted straight back up. Turned off fastboot .. come to think of it, I haven't had a sense crash since....
I had actually contacted HTC support who advised that there were no known issues with Sense crashing and recommended that I exchange my phone!
Since unticking Fast Boot, the phone has been perfect.
My lollipop experience is this: battery life seems OK but less than I was getting with the elementalx kernel, the sound stutters especially when the screen is locked. Its pretty random but the buffer is underrunning at times. Which leads me to what's bugging me the most. With KitKat and the same apps installed I was getting roughly 800mb-1gb free of memory. With lollipop it starts out OK at boot but quickly starts eating up ram like candy. I've had Pandora force close in the background which is probably why I'm getting sound stutters because something is using memory and force closing services in the background. I'm using apex launcher and that constantly has to reload to. Before it very rarely reloaded. Also various widgets are having their services killed and I have to go and manually restart them. I've gone from 1gb free typically to like 3-400 mb free. Does L really use that much more ram? Also what about the damned "focus" on battery life they claimed? Its definitely worse here. Looks like this update was half baked if you ask me. I'm at least not getting horrible fps in games like some are claiming. And yeah the YouTube bug is really random and annoying. Anyone else have low memory issues??

Same issue. But found the soultion
Facing the same issue. But what i came across is that maximum people who updated to lollipop via OTA are facing these.
Others who have side loaded it or flashed the new lollipop image are all fine. There are bugs in lollipop but atleast they are not facing the terrible issues like us. That battery life is insane , i cant use it as my daily driver with such pathetic battery life. But people who have updated it other than OTA are infact getting better battery than KitKat what Google claimed it to be.
Also the memory issue. Yes this is the main problem what we all OTA updaters are facing. This is called memory leak. I founded it over here. Few developers have explained it in detail - You should have a look.
They have suggested for a clean install of lollipop by complete flash or a factory reset. I have not done it yet. Too lazy to get the backup and all.
But have to try it as we are left with no other option. Check out this link for memory leak - tinyurl.com/pmjlol2
If you decide to install it yourself, use one of the current builds instead of the factory image. Google has pushed a few revisions out.
Hi guys, some weeks ago i received lollipop ota on my m8. i updated and after that i made a factory reset just to be sure nothing from kitkat remains. but now i notice that the phone is not smooth and have a good battery that it was on kitkat. i will show some situations:
1-recent apps screen, on kitkat apps appeared faster, on lollipop takes a while to load all 9 apps in grid view, also in card view sometimes the scroll is not running at 60fps.
2-apps are slower to open and they are not staying on ram like was on kitkat. there is a lot more of reloading apps, and multitasking is not as smooth as it was.
3-camera is slower to open, i don't know if this was cause by play store updates from htc camera or lollipop firmware. also sometimes when i take a picture and press the photo to see a message appears "image is being saved" and i have to press again to open the photo. i don't use sd card and have 17gb of space free.
4-battery is draining faster, i always do an overnight test, 6~8 hours of idle, on kitkat i can wake in the morning with 100% battery, now i woke up with 95%. i left google now off, location on, sincronization on, wifi on. the same stuff that i used with kitkat, except for one thing, smart lock by location, maybe is the problem, i will make a test later. also battery is draining faster on usage, i can see battery dropping very fast when using feedly or chrome.
5-about chrome, maybe is just the app and not lollipop. is slower, sometimes the blue progress bar do not appear, and sometimes it just don't load any page after clicking enter, and i have to close and try again. also embedded youtube videos do not have sound and i have to use youtube app(the can drain the phone battery in 4 hours when using continuoulsy and 100% brightness, while on mx player it lasts more than 9 hours SoT).
6-The android encryption is enabled by default on m8? if yes, is there a way to disable it?
Lollipop brought a lot of good stuff, like lock screen notifications, better notification and quick settings design, but the phone doesn't feel like was some months ago, the fastest and smoother android phone i ever used with very fast multitasking and very good battery. anyone share the same feeling? and if there is something that can make the phone go back to be smooth like was?
Have you tried sense7 ? If your phone is unlocked and rooted; try sense 7. Everything has improved.

I do wonder, which good things has Lollipop brought? I am waiting for Sense 7, but on Sense 6 I don't see any.
I have the same problem, particularly in battery life. Used to have great battery life, now it sucks. Is there a proper fix?
I returned to kitkat and device was a lot smoother and with better battery. But now I am running stock gpe 5.1 and I'm very happy with it. I only miss sense camera, I installed it but do not work properly.
One thing you can do is install xposed if you're rooted and do the amplify tutorial. Get rid of a lot of wakelocks
KitKat
I used both versions for M8 (4.4.4 and 5.0.1 official sense software)
And i highly recommend android 4.4.4 for HTC One M8.
Kitkat is more smoother and unbuggy than Lollipop. No restriction on offical apps (like photo gallery zoe features this features really cool but HTC disable this features on Lollipop.)
Android Kitkat 4.4.4 sense 6 really really good for M8. So.. I'm back to KitKat and I'm not regretful about that

Why kitkat if you have Marshmallow already?
Was about to ask the same thing. MM is the better version of kitkat if you ask me ! It's smooth and very battery friendly for me
Kitkat,Lollipop and Marshmallow is smooth but Lollipop and Marshmallow have visual effects and they have mater design I don't like these features.
Also
Dalvik machine better than Art Machine even if Art system gain better point than Dalvik on Antutu Benchmark.
Because most of apps adapted to Dalvik machine ,you can see this moment on offical HTC apps like music apps or some 3D games or when you write something on forums;keyboard really buggy on Lollipop therefore KitKat is best choice of me. Because I can move in software without bugs.

Hello,
I have a problem with my m8 running cyanogenmod. When I turn on my device, its blazing fast for some time, but later it is just too laggy. Openning apps takes too much time, everything is slow. In OS Monitor I saw, that I have only 240 mb ram free.
How can I deal with those delays?
Regards
Is it just my phone that stutters quite frequently or is this just a general problem with the m9? All the reviewers said something along the lines of "this phone is a speed beast" or something like that but I hate the stuttering. My brother's Nexus 6 is time and time again smoother than my phone. For example, when I go on nova launcher with a vertical scrolling app drawer and scroll, the m9 stutters when scrolling while the Nexus 6 is at a constant 60fps. Yet when I looked it up online everyone said the m9 was faster. Also, could this be a problem with the ROM, would I be better off with a custom ROM such as CM or ADHD? This lag is especially annoying since I paid good money for my phone
Is it just my phone that's bad or is this the snapdragon 810?
try to play with scrolling options in nova settings. there shouldn't be a problem normally, also be sure to keep power saver off, it will make the phone lag and stutter/slow

I have power saver off and changing the settings does no good, I still get small stuttering when I scroll, although since I got custom Roms it's been reduced, it's still there. But thanks anyway
i really had no problems with stock, aswell as my dad, he is f ull unrooted and no laggs or whatsoever. ICE 10 port is awesome and with ex kernel i have really no lags or stutter or so

I noticed the scrolling in the Nexus 5x is different, it's a lot slower so it's smoother, is there a way to get the same thing on the HTC one m9
Where do you notice these stutter when scrolling? In apps? Or where?

Nova launcher when using vertical drawers, I can also see it in action launcher and Google launcher, I really want to get to the bottom of this lag.

nova shouldn't lag, the others are ****ty. just play around with the drawer settings in nova. sense launcher for example does not lag a bit, also when using nova, tried it now with every drawer, it works as it should, without stutter and lag

I think I have a fix, basically I was going through the kernel settings in my ROM and I turned all my cores minimum frequency to 768mhz and now when I run nova I get 0 stutter and lag, I'm guessing my phone was just turning the core frequency down too much, this still doesn't explain why you don't get lag but I guess a fix is a fix. Since getting 60fps everywhere on my phone I'm in a sense of euphoria, also do you know a way for me to manage my CPU settings on an app basis
