Hi. Can someone tell me how to use screen mirroring using chromecast app?
on stock unrooted it freezes after 1 second and when I use a custom rom based on stock and rooted it can't find the chromecast to screen mirror.
How can I screen mirroring my tab pro 8.4 wifi using stock rooted rom?
Also how can I do the same but on a custom rooted rom based on aosp?
Thanks!!!
Technically these tablets only support screen mirror through chrome cast as a "beta" function. On a stock TW ROM it may not be very stable. On CM 12 it is much more stable.

I tried in my s4 screen mirroring while using a custom rom based on aosp (cm 12.1 and android 5.1.1) and it works but with negative or inverse colors.
Using the same phone (s4 i9500) with a TouchWiz lollipop rom (5.0.1 ) screen mirroring works perfect without a single problem .

[Q] Vanilla ROM
Hey guys,
Reacntly I started seeing some ROMs here, but they are all TouchWiz ones /:
Now I know that there isn't a lot of developers for this device, but i'm still wondering if anyone (maybe Cyanogenmod team) working on a Vanilla ROM.
Does anyone have any idea?
I hope so don't need all the touchwiz rubish just a nice slim rom hopefully being able to free up some more storage to save apps. Come on guys there must be someone smart enough to port vanilla
Donate to m3d0g in developing Roms thread. This way he can purchase the device and build Roms for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't a non-Touchwiz ROM make the S Pen absolutely useless?

I remember when I installed CM on my note ii and the s-pen worked!
I too would like a stock android experience, I hate touchwiz but love the s-pen.

it's only the proprietary s-pen stuff you won't have access to. pen support is supposed to be built in to (i believe) ics and above.
pen works
there is a program that is in beta in the Play Store that is supposed to work real well. Also CM S pen may do what you are asking.
I love CyanogenMod. But there is a problem that, whenever I open camera a message appears "Can't connect to your camera" any solution guys?
Go back to stock?

The so called bugs you state are only in custom roms that have ported N3 and S5 features. If you want to flash a custom note II 4.4.2 with few tweaks then they are almost flawless. Also I've tried few custom roms with ported n3 and s5 features are 99% bug free.I agree sometimes porting features does break something else but that's what rooting and custom roms are all about. It's trial and error. In the end it comes down what each user prefers.I personally keep switching between 4.4.2 ROM which is heavily modded with S5 and Note 3 features but when i get bored of the heavy customizations I switch to 4.4.2 stock note 2 custom ROM. At times I even switch to AOSP ROM just to get away from touchwiz.XDA is all about preference and the user will get whatever he wishes on here.
I can't stand touchwiz messaging ui, i was wondering if i could just have the standard AOSP one in phantom rom? Any ideas? Also i can't stand the touchwiz widget for microsoft exchange, the standard Android or CM one is far more superior. I don't like merging all my email and messaging into one.
How do you get screen mirroring to work on chromecast? I'm not seeing the option on my chromecast app. On the stock T-Mobile ROM. Android version 4.3, Note 3.
It's a kitkat only feature, and it works great on mine.

Oh snap. Okay, so there's a kitkat update available for this phone right? Is it buggy or any reason I shouldn't upgrade? (not rooted)
I'm looking for a tablet for note-taking on PDF files in class/meetings.
I found Surface Pro is perfect for that but I'm an android guy using gmail/hangouts all the time. Someone suggested Note 10.1 but I prefer AOSP. I have several questions.
1. If I install custom ROM, can I use S-pen for regular apps with palm detection? (Note-taking on PDF is my main objective)
2. If I use stock TW ROM, can I remove Samsung Gallary app? It is not compatible with my DLNA devices.

You would have all of the TW features but you can install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2962520 which is very close to AOSP. Search that thread for S-Pen and there is a another thread for creating some of the TW features on an AOSP rom.
You can also try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2793898 which is a modded TW rom. Chromecast works well with stock Roms.
