I received ota Lollipop update a couple weeks ago but decided not to update yet because I don't know if I would lose my root. I would like to know more about the procedures and benefits before I update. Can anyone point me to a general guide to upgrade my rooted LG G3 to Lolipop? I'm sorry for a newbie question. Thanks in advance.

Can I update to Lolipop directly instead of updating: -> 10L -> Lolipop?
If yes, what is the best way for me to update, since I'm rooted with Xposed Framework, stock bootloader
Thanks in advance!
Also would like to know.. Up*

If you are using the final build of the Android L KDZ then you'll be fine to flash it from any version as the KDZ contains all necessary files. @autoprime has confirmed on his twitter feed that this update does not implement anti-rollback so you should be fine to downgrade and Bump in the future if you want. Hope this helps!
But I'm not using the final build of Android... I'm asking if I can upgrade to lollipop, when it's officially out, instead updating to 10L and then update to Lollipop

I said the Lollipop update contains all necessary files. The final KDZ is what they will push when Android L gets officially updated on your device, or a TOT or .dpkg. You will not need to update in between as you never do inbetween major system updates. If an official update ever has dependencies, it will not let you update without them so don't worry. You would be able to jump from any version you like to Android L. Like I said though, we will have a ported version of Android L long before the official update. Also, although @autoprime has confirmed the release of Android L for the D855 does not implement anti-rollback, this does not mean that other variants will not implement something to keep us from going back to previous software versions, then you may be stuck with Android L but no root or TWRP permanently. I can not emphasize enough how much I do not agree with taking any official updates if you are the slightest bit interested in root or custom roms for you phone.
Also, you only get notified if someone directly quotes a post of yours or if you mention someone by username using @ like I did for @autoprime above.
If I've helped, hit the thanks button!

If you want to update officially with the KDZ, the best option is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799647
Just use the tool and official KDZ to ensure everything is wiped and completely updated.
There is already a rooted Android L .zip ready to flash via TWRP that is available in the General G3 Development thread. Good luck with either route.
Love you.

Thank you so much! Finally someone who gave me a perfect answer for all my questions! Thanks again! By the way my model is indeed 855 international. Is the released Android L KDZ the official one? because I wanted the fully stable version released by LG...

His twitter feed Auto(utoprime) shows recent tweets where he bolded the fact that it does not implement it.
https://mobile.twitter.com/utoprime
It's a few tweets down and it specifically says the D855 20A update does not use anti-rollback.
did LG?

Did LG already released the fully stable 5.0 update? And If they release it, it will be released by KDZ?

Hi guys,
Couple days ago I bought LG G3 with branded software from Polish operator.
Next I've updated it to the newest Android - 5.0
Firmware version is now V20e-260-01 (now I have option to update it to V20f-DEC-22-2014), compilation LRX21R
I was trying to find some method to root my phone (all I need is... Titanium Backup) but for now nothing is possible.
Also I know that I can flash my phone and install custom ROM but to be honest - last time I did that was over 2 years ago and I need nice instruction/guide to not damage my phone
So if you could be so kind please recommend most stable, easy-to-install and fast ROM so I can finally copy my old applications
Thank you in advance,
Omen.
android 5 not Method for root
downgrade to kitkat 4.4.4 and root
Yes, I am looking for the same thing.

This is what I wanted - thank you very much, will later today
I was pretty excited for Lollipop to come out, but I didn't know I wasn't able to receive the OTA if I had rooted. I've been getting the attached screen. So, I'm trying to update it through Kies, but I'm not seeing the US version out yet. Will the tablet even update if it's rooted? Should I just go for a 5.0 ROM? Which would be the best? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I forgot to specify: I have the 8.4 (T700). :-/
Only Korea is available at the moment.
Before you flash it, read the thread posted above. This is important.

I Recently upgraded my note 4 to lollipop but then I didn't know I would lose my root so now i wanna downgrade my sm-910a to. Kitkat. . It has a baseband version coc4. Is it possible to downgrade? If yes then link please Thanks or else provide me pre rooted firmware for sm-910a. Thanks once again
Read around before posting please. Once you are on COC5-C6, you can't downgrade. So kiss your temp root goodbye. This info is everywhere, especially lately with more and more people asking the same questions over and over again.

Unfortunately no. Everyone who has tried soft bricked their phones.
This is why there are new posts on a daily basis with people crying because they have bootloops or soft bricked devices. Att did something with the Stagefright patches that prevent downgrading.
Edit: My bad! I didn't notice that you said COC4. I THINK C4 can be downgraded still. I know for sure that C5-C6 can't.

with coc4 you can downgrade to N910AUCU1ANIE goodluck.

Firmware link and steps please .. Thanks spex and goldenfish for your replies. I know I'm asking for so much help. . Coz actually on bed rest. Your help would be great
Hi folks, sorry for the trouble. I looked through the guide section without success. I ended up rooting my Canadian model last night and now plan to apply the security patch / firmware update from October but not sure what's the best way to go about it ?
Should I use LGUP as I did using the Frankenstein method? I also thought about sideloading the update but again, not sure how to tackle this.
your help would be appreciated. Please point me in the direction of the thread and I should be okay. Thanks again.

This is all well and good if you don't need mobile data. Otherwise I would not recommend this at all.
