Hye all,
i just open this thread to attract attention of any developers that may can maintain or compile a new type of AOSP - OMNI rom
Here the following forum for this OMNI rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2601
Developers can submit theirs device specification to OMNI development forum > http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2604
it is nice to had fresh ROM to be compiled or been maintain for our wonder.. i had no knowledge in compiling ROM and i hope somebody could try make it real..
Maybe our sir @arsradu can take give a chance
Here some video that presenting this OMNI Rom
www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXlzJ4WVDKY
Thank You For reading
Wow the room looks great from the video , I hope that someone will support it for Wonder
Sadly I would need a hardware upgrade for that... I actually needed that for a very long time and didn't get the finances to do it and I can't seem to get any support from anyone else so far...so I can't make any promises for this ROM. It looks nice and it might turn out to be a great ROM but I won't make any promises about implementing it for Ancora because of the reasons mentioned above. If anyone else wants to do it, be my guest.
maybe we could gather some workgroup on that? but we need some people that had experience in changing the config.. it same goes with me, building a rom need high hardware requirement..if not it will took long time to build it..
dear sir @arco68
sir can you merge ancora device spesific into omni github please?

There is dude. LiquidSmooth was official. AOIP was official. But there wont be many because this is a minority phone for mainstream developers. We must truly thank the devs like educk to even have spent so much time for us to make LS and Carbon. Not to mention the dual boot kernel.

is there any good news about omni @hadidjapri?
sorry if ı disturb you
thanx again
with my best regards :good:
I hear, hadidjapri working on it
Any news about Omnirom for our wonder
ı think we have chance for official omni support because we are using legacy camera libs and we need that changes in framework/native
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/34376/
luckily omni merged that commit into their framework/native repo 3 month ago
https://github.com/omnirom/android_frameworks_native/commit/6233f1e7dcdc087fd4e4aaf4d8626ad5303fb9c8
also we have official twrp recovery for omni(omni requires twrp recovery configuration for porting) http://docs.omnirom.org/Porting_Omni_To_Your_Device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046035
firstly we must build as unofficial and then we must merge our device, vendor and kernel tree into official omni git repository http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483720
we only need dev or devs for maintaining
@Madridii and @hadidjapri bro you are experienced for that jobs maybe you can work together and you can be our official manitainer fo official omni support
thanx
regards

- and all feature which not mentioned before
New Features
- New lulz_kernel 3.4.108 by lukino with fully selinux supported

Hay Ahmed, you should create a XDA DEVDB thread for this ROM because it is a new ROM and build from source.
sorry for this ... i'll delete this thread and create XDA DEVDB

Hi all
I have been started to work on gemini for two weeks (switched to gemini development from my old phone Galaxy W)
I didnt get the device yet (but will get it as soon as possible, probably in 2 weeks)
However i started to work on it, and i really wonder "upstream linux kernel 4.4 can be ported to gemini? and why not?" after i saw CAF added msm8996 (our device's chipset family) support into Linux 4.4 kernel
As you already know our main kernel version is 3.18 right now,
Whats the benefit of 4.4 kernel:
-Nearly thousands of changes which some of them are bugfixes and some of them are new sweaty kernel features :good:
-Better power management
-Better memory management
-More secure (vulnerability fixes)
- And so on
So i started to work to port CAF 4.4 into gemini
- i just forked CAF pure,vanilla 4.4 kernel which support msm8996
and started to add xiaomi mi5's drivers + device specific changes
its very very WIP stage right now
TODOS:
- Merge all gemini drivers and device specific codes into kernel
- Fix all merge conflicts
- Update driver kernel API calls into 4.4 APIs (that is the hardest thing)
- Fix all compilation errors
- And hope for boot
İf anyone has an ability to contribute/help etc. and/or interested in this project , it would be really appreciated :good:
Here is the source code: https://github.com/sirmordred/Kernel_LA.HB.1.1.5_CAF-4.4 "gemini" branch
Mod Edit
Thread closed by OP request/No longer supported.

And also to everyone: Kernel porting is really hard job and its a long run so dont expect miracles
i think it is worth waiting for
I'll wait and try when you uploaded Sir.
Wow... thank u sir..best of luck??
Wow well we do need great kernel for our gemini.... Thanks keep it up
another dev kernel for gemini, does it will support eas and vox populli?
Do you think other devs didn't try it till now? You can join our Telegram group to collaborate with the others that are working on it.
https://telegram.me/joinchat/CQCWTj-9G7RzUdfzKHbqbw
BTW: Why do you create a thread for a project which you barely have started...? It will be a long way and don't expect this to finish in 2017...
@33bca dude let him work Maybe he created this thread to have some help from devs ? some advices ?
BTW: Why don't you wrote here that he fork wrong branch but you just laughed at him on telegram ?

Main goal is the colloborate devs, people who work on gemini to make development better and faster,
And the giving info about possibilities what can be done for future development on gemini kernel
I joined the group on Telegram but is there any dev group which is less crowded (contains only devs)

No there is no such group... once we have tried to create such a developer group it did not work that well
PM should be fine for the most of the cases, but if you want to create a developer only group, you are free to do that.
Wow man it's brave to try porting to 4.4
If it gets to work it'll be a wonderful thing!

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

How come you post official rom from Dirty Unicorn Team and you call it unofficial? At least you could have said you are just sharing.... But I know DU don't want their rom to be posted here on xda. Anyway, I think mods will deal with the thread as soon as they see it.
@Mazda @NYCHitman1
From the Forum Rules:
12.4. Developers can issue take down requests (by contacting the Dev Relations team) under the following circumstances:
- in-process builds start showing up on forums when the developer is not yet ready to release the work;
- cases in which another developer is too aggressively soliciting donations or misrepresenting the work (kanging);
- unofficial builds where an official build is already available;
The only reason why Alex and his team hate xda..
Ahh.. ok, it's allowed to just copy and paste a rom description and post a rom thread but with no self development [emoji849][emoji85]
So, ok, I have to research in the future much more, because I can't trust a platform where it's allowed to do such things
