[Q] Moto 360 or a different smartwatch? - Moto 360

I want to buy a smartwatch, but what is a good watch to buy. I have seen a moto 360 for €172 shipping included. My budget is around the €200. (sorry for my bad English)
Thanks for your time!

Its better and cheaper than other smartwatches out there

Shady rip off of the Pebble on my wrist. Your not backing a project your buying an item.

Why is it a shady rip off of the pebble? I seen the pebble and was thinking about buying one. I think they are both nice watches. But the Kreyos blows the pebble away. Voice control, speaker, mic, and sleep tracking is an update already in the works sense the million dollar mark hit. Oh yeah its waterproof. This was a big one for me!

Also like the Kreyos whereas I am waiting for one of the newer versions (e.g. Samsung, Sony, Google) as I like more the Sony SW2 style.
In addition, it is more an evolution than a rip-off, anyway who does not copy anyone in the current tech world , as long as it benefits the end user...
I would try this out once it's released

dad has a U8 smartwatch that works with the Moto X. he purchased it from ebay for $45. comes with a apk app to pair the watch that gives it some functions like being able to see your texts from your watch and answer calls as well.
I used it on my galaxy s3 and works fine. battery can last you the day as long as you aren't listening to music through it. has couple neat options for the price. Wouldn't pay more than $45 for it though.

Wait the new model or buy it now?

Hi all,
I decided to buy my first smart watch and I'm oriented to get a moto 360.
In your opinion is a good idea to buy it now or should I wait that the next 360 comes out?

if you have the money, wait for the next version.
if you want it for a discounted price, get the current 360...

I recently bought an old one because its worth for money right now. but if you have the money, absolutely more expensive than the older one, get the new one.

Thank you guys. The moto 360 in italy now cost 220€, and i don't want to spend more than that for a watch.
How much do you think the new one will cost?
Surely minimum 100€ more. So better get the present one.
But mostly we won't be getting another update (after 5.1.1 which is awesome)

It's an hard choice, what would you do? I'm not going to spend 300€ for the new model, that's sure

Actually agree. With 5.1.1, unless you have to be on the bleeding edge, this is a great watch
In the US, it is discounted to $150 now.... Waiting for Canada to get a similar deal.....
If the next 360 still has the flat tire and is only a resolution, battery, and processor upgrade I may buy the old one on the cheap just to replace my cracking back and wait for the following generation.
I had the same dilemma, but pulled he trigger because I felt like I wanted to experiment with a cheap device to see if I get any real use out of it. I couldn't justify the price if I then realized too late that I didn't use it. So if you want to try something with android wear and some cool feaures but accept its limitations which are known then get it, I'm also not an avid poster here, but an avid peruser, and I think that most people here try and get the best use of whatever device they have and can afford

I doubt there will be no further updates. I'd guess we see a bit more, especially with the watch offering Wi-Fi, and the current clunky navigation of apps on 5.1.1...

Hi,
I recommend buying the first Moto 360, it's currently really cheap. And knowing Motorola and how they arranged the last version, I think it might still get a few updates, it's not even one year old yet.
Another "buy it now" vote. Android Wear is still in its infancy (think the old Palm Pilots or Windows CE devices from a decade ago vs. phones today), and there's no indication that the "must have" features that will make these watches go mainstream are up and coming. If we saw something on the current gen that just needed more 'oomph' than what we currently have the next gen would be an easier choice.
Bottom line: if you're intrigued and tempted, grab the cheaper current gen one. Try it for a few months. The chances of these devices going from Windows Mobile 6 to Kit Kat (in terms of usefulness) in the next generation of smartwatches is pretty small.

moto 360 help!!

hi... I have a LG G4 and I want buy good but cheap smartwatch and I think to buy the moto 360... are you think I should to buy him or there is anther choice?
thank for the helpers!

Huawei watch V1 still worth buying?

I see there's some ROMs on here, do they help keep the watch somewhat current? Would you buy a refurbished version? I see it's a lot cheaper now than it used to be, still a good smart watch to own?
I can recommend it

Hi,
I bought a refurbished Version for ~160€ just one week ago.
I was able to choose, which wristband I like to wear - the price was the same.
The watch uses AndroidWear 2.0
The functionality is still pretty good and the opportunity to root the device is a "nice-to-have"
There are still many apps and possibilities you can do with this watch.
It also looks and feels pretty cool!
Overall, I would recommend buying one - even refurbished.
This is my first SmartWatch and I am very happy with my decision.
I hope I could help you!
:highfive:
