Hi All,
I just bought a Nexus 7 2013 the other day and it shipped with 5.0.1 and I need to take it back to 4.4.4.
I'm using Wugs tool to go to 4.4.4 but every time I just get stuck on a Google screen after the flashing is done. I can use the tool to successfully bring the device back to 5.0.1.
Any idea what i'm missing?
Thanks,
Josh
Bah, if I knew how to delete this thread I would.
I couldn't find the answers I needed using search terms I thought would work, but eventually I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/nexus-7-2013-qa/mount-recovery-t3064562 which is the exact issue I'm having. Following the instructions there to resolve me issue.

If I had to guess I would imagine it is because of your boot loader version.

Greetings, I did look for information here on the forum for 2 evenings. I cannot find any usable hint. Probably it is really too basic.
Anyway, I am trying to root and s-off this phone. I already did one - beginner's luck, I guess - without any problems using the wiki. On this one, I get an "[1] illegal instruction" as soon as I try to launch the psneuter.
So I do not have root. I tried it several times, re-read the wiki, I assumed I need to downgrade the firmware. Then I realized I do not know where to find it. The only place with similar info is Settings - About phone. But there I only find model number, Android version, baseband, kernel, build. In this order.
So please tell me how to check the firmware version, and if anybody can, what am I doing wrong that I cannot get root. I downloaded the files fresh and I do not get any error before adb shell ...psneuter. Thank you.
Edit:
I still do not know how to get to the firmware version, but after another factory reset, the procedure worked. Thank you.

On the About Phone screen, if the Android version is 2.3 then you need to downgrade

Thank you. The wiki is saying 1.75, 1.34 or something like that. That is what I was looking in the phone for. My Android version was 2.2 though, ok, thanks again.

If you're running 2.2, you're fine... no downgrade required. This is the method I used and it worked flawlessly:

Thanks in advance
..
Okay here is what I have tried so far, Superoneclick gets to step 7 waiting on device and hangs up. Have tried the Zurg rush tool, when it attempts to do an adb remount it fails with a msg operation not permitted. So I'm stuck now, so anyone with some ideas or insight please chime in, thanks
Just another update the UniversalAdroot apk does not work, anyone with any ideas?
Still looking for help, since this phone is relatively inexpensive, there is going to be a lot of them out there. And a lot of people looking to root them. Just hoping someone will give me assistance as this will also be solution for others as well.

Well at least your thread pulls up when running a Google search for rooting this phone. Did you try the CyanogenMod instructions for the ZTE Blade? Thats the only other suggestion I have since I don't own one yet.
Post back here if you have any luck. I might just get one as a spare.

Hi
So far, anyone found a way to root the ZTE V768 (Concord) ?
Anyway to upgrade to 3.0?
Thanks
Michel
I too would like to see this rooted. Then maybe I can delete some of those factory installed apps I would never use.
ZTE lists a way to manually upgrade the firmware for a Concord (V768) with a PC running Windows. Maybe it can be used somehow to root this device?
I can't post the link because I'm a new user, but just search for the Concord on the ZTE USA website.

, but this does not look like a OS upgrade, only a PC Driver update
I will try it and see if it affects the phone.
I have asked T-mobile to get the Concord unlocked, they couldn't but required an answer from ZTE directly...I should get something next week only!
So did anyone figure out how to get this phone unlocked?
BTW I'm surprised how little support there is for this phone considering it's the cheapest tmobile android option by far.
ROOTED!!
For those looking to root their ZTE Concord I have successfully rooted it using the ZTE Score option! Working on installing the Clockwork mod now and I think I'm going to tinker with the JellyBlast ROM for the Galaxy Y considering these phones are fairly similar

Hello
I´ve got a Galaxy Nexus GT9250 Maguro with 4.2.2 (JDQ39), this phone has CWM Recovery, and here´s the problem:
I enabled data encryption on this phone some time ago, and I´ve been digging in the Forums for weeks trying to find a clear explanation on how to go back to stock on this phone to get rid of the encryption so I can do OTA updates, and finally get to 4.3 JB on this phone (which for my own embarrasment I haven´t been able to do so).
Now, I read on a thread that the only way to do this is through Fastboot, And I´ve got to get GNex toolkit (already downloaded it) and proceed.
The thing is that, I don´t know exactly how to do that, I´ve had bad experiences before trying to flash phones (I bricked a SGS2), and I don´t want that to happen again.
So if someone here could explain me what to do, I would gladly appreciate it, since it seems like there´s no clear info or instructions on how to proceed with this.
Thank you all very much for your attention and your help, as I said, point me on the right direction and I´ll continue from there.
NOTE: Bare in mind that the author of this posts is a complete noob.
I almost forgot, maybe the pictures could help a little.

Hi everyone.
I hope it's OK for me to post a thread here. I had posted in the TMobile specific help forums yesterday but I noticed that these forums are much more active and I have a somewhat new problem.
My phone is intermittently connected to windows and listed as "QHSUSB_Bulk". I've come across some help threads on this issue for other phones that I'm working through, but I was really hoping to perhaps get some M8-specific guidance. I'm supposed to be studying for my medical boards right now, so I'd really appreciate some help that could save me some time.
Here's the thread that I posted yesterday: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...ruu-error-152-unable-to-restore-tmob-t2869758
(mods please move/merge/close if appropriate).
Thanks!

What do you think about this sort of thing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
I'm trying to find the other thread I was referring to where the guy said his phone was in the same state as mine but was able to recover it. Edit: Ah it was this thread, but was applicable when I had Error 152, not QHSUSB. http://www.xxxx.com/htc-one-x/help/error-152-ruu-update-t2861685
Do you have any tips for avoiding this problem in the future?
I'll probably have to return, just want to learn at this point.
Thanks! PDD

Nope. I gave a pretty detailed summary of stuff that happened before the phone became unresponsive in the thread from my OP. I think the main problem was thinking I could update versions since the RUU said it "update." Should have stuck with same version RUU. Don't know why that would completely brick the phone, though. And it only bricked after the time I ran it and it said "congrats everything worked!"
RUU are normally the safest way to flash devices. If it was bricked because of it. It could be any number of things.
Corrupt RUU
Premature disconnect from either end
Or bad emmc table
I went through three m8 first two ended up in QHUSB mode and the third after playing it safe for while attempted again and it worked out just fine. All I was trying to do was flash the international 4.4.3 firmware zip.
First two came from T-Mobile while the third HTC sent it out to me. So maybe that made a difference, I did change the model and CID to that of the international version the third time so if that made a difference I wouldn't know for sure.
Rooted it for a buddy using KingRoot, worked totally fine. Verified that it was working and went about our day. I didn't attempt to install recovery or anything like that because I know the bootloader is locked. For some reason, it is now saying that the software is unofficial, and to take it to a Verizon store for some damn reason. 100% sure this is an AT&T tablet, as it says SM-T707A right on the back panel, and it's on his AT&T plan.
I can't find the flashable software on either AT&T or Samsung's site...does anyone know where I can get it, or what I can do to fix this? I can get into download mode no problem. I've owned many Samsung devices in the past and it's never been as issue if you can get into download mode....but I can't find the damned firmware.
May have figured it out - http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/stock-kitkat-image-sm-t707a-revert-t3403934
Gonna odin back to Kit Kat and take the OTA if available back to lollipop.
Still dunno why the hell it says Verizon on the error screen though...
Reporting back in case someone finds this via search. This totally worked. It's back up and running.
Wasn't able to do the OTA, but was able to manually update to Lollipop via the zip files posted in the thread I linked above. Worked a treat.
Try this. You'll have to scroll down but it might help.
