thanks - tried on my note 4 (battery flat on tab s so will do this tonight) and its freed up masses as space!

Get everything off your tablet and do a reset is the best way to get to the bottom of your problem, did you do a ota upgrade or flash it your self.
John.

Flashed it. I'll try clean master them. I'll back up the apps and do a reset if no joy

ended up doing a factory reset....we really shouldn't have to following an update. Android need to get a grip of this - more times than not a factory reset is required and apart from it taking ages, it takes longer still to install all the apps (as they aren't all automatically restored), then rebuilding the home screen etc and adding all the accounts again. grrr
Anyway its recovered over 3gb so thanks for the advice. I didn't have to do a factory reset after installing lollipop on my note 4 so this surprised me somewhat on the tab s.
Only other problem is FB is laggy as hell. Overall battery is better and marginally smoother overall.
cheers

Is it possible to fix Market missing apps? All of them!

Hi all,
I somehow managed to get my Market List app to get messed up.
It now does not display any apps!
I've tried a few suggestions from here and other sites. but none work.
This is my last resort before doing a full factory reset.
One thing that seemed to work from the suggestions was to clear out the Framework cache. I did that and the apps were listed then but as soon as I downloaded anything from the Market, I would end up with the same problem, all of the apps would go missing.
One thing I discovered with this issue, is that most people don't really understand the issue. So I posted a screen shot of what it looks like and then some users understood and said 'wow, never seen that before' and suggested I post the question here with the screen shot to make it clear what the problem is.
So here is the screen shot!

Did you change your dpi? Has the market ever worked?
Also you might want to wipe and sign back into google, and yea clear market data and cache, flash another ROM.
Edit: just saw this too

Can't clear Google Services Framework data

I was trying to do this method to force update my original-not-rooted Galaxy Nexus (4.0.4) to Android 4.1.1
[YOUTUBE]

the thing is: I can't clear the data, for this app or for some other apps too... It's stuck on Computing...
I hope the picture would help you guys identify the problem, any help would be appreciated guys.

It's stuck forever, I waited and waited for more than 15 minutes on the same page without going out, and it's still computing.
I even restarted the phone, took away the battery and inserted it again but the same thing happened.
Really don't know what to do..
UPDATE: It worked for me, didn't know what I did exactly. I removed big apps (Currents) and restarted the phone so many time until I got it, then got the 4.1 update easily.

[Q] Battery "drop" issue

Guys I am at a complete loss as to what might be causing this. I have searched for 2 days researching what could be causing this.
Things I have done to attempt to resolve:
1. "Placebo" clearing battery stats.
2. Charging phone to full, draining it till it was at 5%. Then rinse and repeat 3 times now atleast.
3. Frozen any apps I dont use, including many system apps.
4. Trying multiple different firmwares (all 4.2.2 so far mind you...)
5. Fixing permissions in recovery.
*Note - each firmware flash was a clean flash. No data/cache or apps aka Factory defaults.
I dont use any apps to mass-restore my previous apps or restore previous backups in recovery.
*I am rooted. Have the dual recovery and I have a locked bootloader.
Help please

[Q] Chrome problem after Lollipop update

My wife's regular issue, stock, non-rooted phone, not mine, which I haven't updated to 5.0. When you click on the Chrome button you get this:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

The number after "document" down there keeps going up every time you close and re-open. It's 90-something now. If you click on the home button or a new tab, you get a normal functioning page. But when you open up a new session you get this confounded thing. How the heck do you fix this?

Try uninstalling all updates, wiping data/cache and reinstalling chrome updates from play store
WTF if its stock firmware why are the softkeys modded?
Those are the stock lollipop soft keys

what's the problem?

My tablet seems to be messed up...
I get constant app crashes even when just browsing, watching a youtube video is almost impossible due to lag and antutu reboots the device or the app crashes and when I get a benchmark done I get this....:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
That's almost as bad as the Galaxy Y....
My device is clocked at 2.0gHz(or 1.7 or 1.5 it does not matter)
Trust me I've tried every rom... from kitkat cm11 to stock 5.1 and it's all the same
Is this thing broken?
Restore stock clock speeds, then maybe someone can help? Revert to stock kernel and ROM, replicate. That would be the first order of business.
Save your stuff and perform a factory reset: delete everything, flash the latest 5.1.1 factory image.
I guess you have dirty flashed your ROMs too often ? Some leave thrash behind and some so called "developers" like to use some tweaks which are no use anymore ( and have been made for Android 2 or even older ..)
If your device behaves like this even in a 100% Stock environment, it might be faulty indeed..
