[Q] - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

We all have gotten a sneak peek of Sony's lollipop update onto our beloved z1 compact. Through the many ways available I for instance used an ftf file. But they do not come pre-rooted like the zip file alternatives.
The only way to root ftf I am told is to flash a kernel pre-installed with a recovery then flash SuperSU zip. I have flashed like 3 different boot.imgs only to find no TWRP/Philz/cmw recovery.
Can anyone give me a WORKING kernel that will boot into a recovery? Would really appreciate this.

[Q] How Delete Recovery CWM ?

My C6503 is rooted with the locked BL, but again with .434 rom.
I want upgrade to .253, but with keeping my root and without all deleted.
I see that if I upgrade via OTA, I keep my root.
But an upgrade via OTA it's impossible with recovery.
As I don't want all deleted and install all (I'll do that for the 4.2.2), I search a solution for deleted my recovery,
We have an idea for just delete CWM ?
Otherwise I'll wait for 4.2.2 and install everything properly
Try flashing just the stock kernel from a ftf file for your device through flashtool. If you changed anything in \system also flash system.
Just the kernel ?
Where I found it for the C6503 ?
There are several ftf files around on this forum, e.g. from Bin4ry. Download the one for your phone, flashing kernel will overwrite cwm.
Resolved with new install (Rom 4.2.2)

[Q] [Noob] confused on xperia ion

Hi i got this sony xperia ion.
I unlocked the bootloader last night and when i tried to update to latest software version (6.2.B.221 i think) it showed me an error whivh i figured cause of unlocking bootloader.. so i gave up on updating with pc companion. Now im tring to just flash the custom rom and kernel but it says i need rooted device to flash.. so i searched about rooting ion and found one thread that i need to flash prerooted kernel.. one that im tring to flash is .elf file and it's stock kernel, prerooted, has cwm and init.d and says (no OC) but will i still be able to use apps that requires rootd device like root explorer, cpu manager after i flash latest firmware and flash new custom rom and new kernel?
I know you cant understand what i wrote.. so..
My situation
I unlocked bootloader before i update it to latest firmware.
Im going to flash kernel that is prerooted, has cwm, init.d. in order to flash latest firmware
After flashing latest firmware, im going to flash custom rom and kernel that is in (rom).zip file
Will i be still able to use superuser? Or like apps that requires rooted device?
It's my first time using sony devices.. please help this nooby noob
and i appreciate any tips or stuff like that will help me thru finally custom rom
(Sorry about my bad English)

[Q] how to go back to stock rom or...

hi guys,
first of, forgive me If I cannot utilize google or xda's search engine for looking a good solution to my issue, I just cannot think of the right keywords to look for.
for several months now, I currently have CM11 fxp334 by pencam and Bootloader is unlock. Recently Im encountering random reboot issues and I think its getting worst and I am not sure if it has something to do with my link2sd, because at times when it does randomly reboots, I lose some apps that are link to my sdcard after booting.
1) Im thinking of either updating to the latest CM11(or CM12) nightly builds (I have cwm obviously) to assume that latest builds have less bugs
2) or is it possible to use cwm in trying to install/flash stock xperia M firmware because CM seems to be a power hog based on my own observation vs stock sony 4.3 JB. If this can be done, can some good soul point me to the right direction please.
I have my rest days, I hope I can use it by fixing my phone. Thank you.
Just flash your stock .ftf file to go back to stock.
You will have to reflash recovery tho.

flash by using cmw, or flashtool? can cmw recognize a *.ftf file?
and when you said that I will have to reflash recovery, I can still use the cmw recovery that Ive previously used with my CM11 together with stock sony rom?

flash .ftf using flashtool flashmode
afaik cwm only support .zip file for flashing
you can have cwm on stock rom when you flash stock kernel that includes cwm
flash it with flashtool fastboot mode
just press thanks if it's helps instead of typing it

Installing CWM on 4.4.4 Build 14.4.A.0.157

Hello, I've recently purchased a new Z1 Compact and have been getting it set up. I've already rooted it and unlocked the bootloader, but now I'm having trouble figuring out how to install CWM.
As my title states, it is 4.4.4 build 14.4.A.0.157. The guides I'm finding are all for 4.4.3 or lower with build .108.
Can I use the flashtool to flash the .108 kernel and then install CWM? When I do flash that kernel, my build still shows as .157.
I'd like to have an opinion before I do that. Thank you

Do you ultimately want to keep your stock ROM, just rooted, or are you wanting to flash custom ROM, or upgrade, etc.? I guess this is a good place to start - http://nut.xperia-files.com/ - download the 'installer', (not flashable), for Z1c, and run it on your PC.
I plan on flashing Cyanogen mod. *Edit* I've downloaded the installer package. Would flashing the .108 kernel before attempting to install this recovery be the right thing to do?
I tried using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2632808 , someone near the end of the thread said it worked for them on .157. Now the screen stays off, I get vibrations and indicator LED notifications, but nothing else. I've taken a few steps backwards so at the moment my original question is irrelevant. Now I need to figure out how to get back to normal operation
