Hi guys,
I am experiencing something really annoying. Many times when I press the left arrow (the one that opens the menu with all apps) the Status bar drops down. This is not all: sometimes when I hit an app to open or even when I try to type something, the Status bar drops down... Could it be a screen calibration issue? Any1 experiencing the same?
Thanks.
I've noticed the same thing occasionally, but I came to the conclusion that it was my thumb or finger wrapped around the back if the screen holding the phone just touching the top corner/edge of the screen, causing the notification area to pop downwards!
Have a fiddle around using the phone and if it happens again look closely where your fingers are

stop holding it like it's an iPhone seriously, your left thumb is bumping into the status bar. knock it off...
I hate the iphone. Very very much. So I wont ever do anything iphone like. I thought it might be my thumb but still.. Touch is better on galaxy s unfortunately. But that phone is worth as a whole.
Notification bar only pulls down if I am on the far left or the far right home screen. Other screens it will not work.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
are you running CM7 and did you set a dead zone in tablet tweaks?
I am running synergy but it happens in every rom I have tried.
I have been reading the site for years, ever since i rooted my HTC Aria. This will be my first post since I figure people here will most likely know better than anyone else.
My issue has to do with the top of the screen. When i try to touch an icon, or anything near the top of the screen, the status bar will start do drag down. It will not let me touch anything near the top without grabbing the status bar. The phone has not been dropped, and the screen is not cracked. I did a screen test and it registers the touches everywhere without fail. The other issue which i am sure is related is when i try to pull down the status bar it just goes right back up and doesn't stay open. This issue sometimes goes away for a short period after the phone has been on the charger for a while. I hard reset the phone and nothing has changed. Has anyone seen this issue or know of a setting that can be changed? It is the unlocked version from HTC, btw. I forgot to mention, this phone has not been rooted, or modified in any way.
Hello,
Sorry if this has been covered else where. I found stuff that was similar but not quite the same.
I am having an issue with Pixel 2 XL where the touches will not track over the navigation bar. If you tap on the navbar, the touch is forced to the top or bottom depending on if you tap is closer to the top or bottom respectively. If it's pushed to the bottom, it works OK, but taps forced to the top trigger the search bar.
When dragging down, the navbar essentially blocks the drag, then a second tap registers below the bar as you pass over it. Since you're at the end of your drag at this point, you lift your finger and the second tap registers as a button press. This results in accidentally tapping the nav bar buttons when you are just dragging down.
I played with it so much that I found if you get just the right spot you'll, end up with two active tap-spots. If I drag rapidly across the nav bar for like 10-30 seconds, it will return to normal, but the phone gets a bit freezy, and seizes up randomly for 3 to 10 seconds at time. After a while it seems to return to normal.
I have also experienced the "screen freezes for a bit, then suddenly registers 100 taps" issue. I'm not sure if they are related. If anyone has insight into this issue as well, i'd love to hear it.
Is anyone else having these issues? I have a video but I'm not allowed to post outside links.
Thanks very much

I tried to replicate what your talking about. However, I couldn't do it. Maybe because I'm using Nova launcher, which may be a viable option for you. A factory reset might be helpful, however, we all know how much fun that ISN'T! Definitely an interesting issue your having. Then again, I think these devices have a mind of their own at times ?
Thanks for your reply. Forgot to mention, I have tried safe mode and done a factory reset and it did not remove the issue. It seems after a factory reset you are still on Oreo 8.1, so I'm not able to confirm it the issue exists in 8.0. I also have tried Nova Launcher.
When trying to switch back to a previous app by swiping right on the navigation bar (directly on that little assist bar) i can go through my open apps, but i cannot open any of them. It just jumps to the first one. Surprisingly i can jump to the last one by swiping left without issues.
Since i dont want to reset this phone right now and its not that annoying, maybe someone already had the same issue and got it fixed.
