[Q] How to get Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, etc to show in Gallery - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

Hey guys, loving this phone, but can't get everything to work just right. I've searched both XDA and Goog and can't find this answer.
Do you know how to get external image galleries/folders to show up as Albums in the Gallery app? This always happened automatically for me before, but can't find any settings to enable it. As of now, it's just showing "Camera", "Screenshots", and "Image" (I assume that's system images, as they look to be wallpapers.)
THANKS!

Requesting Help to Remove redundant images from "Instant Uploads" folder on Phone
RESOLVED IN THE RESPONSES BELOW - Thanks all
This is really frustrating for a tidy freak like me but:
When I first got this phone, messing around with the camera I took some inane shots of my surroundings thinking I could delete then afterwards. Some of these images went into a folder called "instant uploads". When I went into the folder to delete them there was no option.
Some of the shots were replicated from my main folder, so I deleted them from there. The number of images in instant uploads remained unchanged (13 images) but now I have mostly grey tiles which when I click on them inside instant uploads it says "no thumbnail" There is also a picture in instant uploads that still has the image there, even though its deleted from my phone!
Ive been into picasaweb and deleted images from there and tidied up but still my instant uploads folder on the phone is showing the same 13 images.
Ive been into settings/apps/all and cleared a cache called "media storage", it rebuilt the regular image folder but still this folder of sh*te called "instant uploads" remains.
Can anyone help me clear this up? Ive turned off instant upload now as I dont see it being of use to me personally so i'd really love to get rid of this remnant bloat..
First go into the Google+ app and untick the 'Enable Instant Upload' option in settings. Then go to your Google+ on your computer or in the phones browser, navigate to your instant uploaded photos and delete them from there. I couldn't find any way of deleting them from within the gallery app or the Google+ one.
Beat me to the punch...
This was annoying the hell out of me since i was doing the same and just playing around and then when i came to delete them i just ended up with the gallery still showing photos being there but all of them were just blank with no option to delete like you say.
I managed to get rid of them in the end by doing as stated above, delete them from the pictures from phone folder in the web version on Google+, delete them from web picasa, switch off instant upload in the Google+ app and then clear data for Gallery and Google+ in /settings/apps/all.
I also used Astro file manager to delete all cache in android/data/com.google.android.apps.plus but i dont think this did anything, just thought i wuld add that in too.
All in all i think that is a S*!T way to simply delte some pictures and can imagine quite a few people having the same problem, especially those new to android wanting the new galaxy.
Thanks for chiming in guys.
Tung_meister, i had already deleted the imiages from picsaweb and they are not showing on Google+ so I guess those two are syncing. Id also unticked the instant upload option within settings, The images and grey blank tiles were still there on my phone in the IU folder. I went back into the picsaweb adn deleted the empty folder called instant uploads. Still the images are in the phone!
Dumb Donkey, ive done every step you have shown exept
and then clear data for Gallery and Google+ in /settings/apps/all.

I'll try that now and hopefully resolve the issue. If that fails im gonna do a handset reset. It wont take me that long to get everything as I want, slightly annoying though!
Im thinking maybe I used another email address/account for sharing somehow but dont think so..
That worked Dumb_Donkey cheers! I'd buy you a pint mate haha!
Cleared Google+ which got rid of the photos but it still had an instant upload folder stating "13 files"
Cleared Gallery which zapped the instant uploads folder completely!
Thanks very much mate.
Looks like a syncing issue betweeen phone and web?
Well, I'm pretty late, but just found out you can choose what albums to show via settings. Just choose "phone content" and it's fine.

At some point in time you must've enabled the Instant Upload feature (and have obviously subsequently disabled it). The folder is in Picasa Web Albums, and it is non-removable from what I can see.
maybe this is different in 2.4, but you should have an option under syncing to not sync Picasa and instant upload.

i dont have picasa on my phone, iv re enabled syncing the google photos and google plus and instant upload trying to wipe the folder but its still there
it has a picasa picture on the folder but i dont have picasa installed and i cant find any settings for it
Google syncing brings Picasa to you in gallery by default. Turn off google photo's sync or edit the picasa web album
When you have the album open in Picasa Web Albums, choose Action, Delete Album - YOU WILL lose all photo's but it should then not show up.
To prevent it again in Google + turn off instant uploads

You don't need to have picasa installed on the phone for this to happen, Picasa Web Albums is online. It is where your pictures are saved when you enable Instant Upload in Google+, something which you must have enabled at some point since you have the folder.

I have been unable to get the Instant Upload album to delete, from Picasa Web Albums. It just stays there.
do you install picasa?
i got rid of it by removing my google account then adding it again and disabled goole photos from syncing then when i signed into google plus i disabled instant upload
I have different issue.
If I click on GALLERY it comes up with message "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped.
REPORT - OK
Any ideas?
Speaking of the Gallery, is there any way to order the folders/albums alphabetically? It seems like they're ordered completely randomly, which is really annoying if you have a lot of albums.

Have you disabled any apps? I disabled a pile of crap I don't use (Google+, Books, Talk, News & Weather) and I got the same. Then I re-enabled them and it worked again. Didn't get into trying them one at a time yet.
On de SGS the Gallery-app gave al lot of problems. One of them was that it used al lot of juice. Another was that it not always showed all pictures. For those reasons I installed Quickpic. It is a free app and very reliable. But let's hope that the Gallery-app is improved on ICS.

I also love Quickpic, however the auto-rotate is extremely slow half the time on the Galaxy Nexus. The phone seems to be slow w/ auto-rotate everywhere, but it's even worse in Quickpic.

It's google+.
Stupid to require google+ to be linked to the gallery.

Have you tried clearing the gallery cache/date from app manager after you disabled google+? I bet they become linked upon initial start of gallery.
Yeah, that was the first thing I looked at.
Actually, now that I think about it, I did a settings wipe through titanium backup, but not a cache wipe through app manager.
Hmm. Let me try that.
Edit: Nope, looks like google+ physically has to be present. Silly.
Stupid picasa

Another weird thing with the gallery. When looking at the details of some images (transferred over from PC/Mac) I get a time of Jan 1, 1970. Normaly taken pictures, screenshots and those send from another phone through bluetooth have the proper time shown.
a problem I have sometimes is I get grey boxes instead of pictures
Just poke and hold on the gallery folder then hit the delete button. Problem solved?

Picasa Album Cache

Since the ICS gallery allows offline viewing of Picasa photos, they must be stored somewhere. But I can't find where. Anyone know where they are downloaded to?

with a file explorer go to the android folder on your internal sd storage, data, com.google.android.gallery3d folder. i dont think that they are actually downloaded though.
Looked in there and there doesn't appear to be any pictures. But since I can view the gallery offline or with no signal, they MUST be somewhere??
Look in the Google+ storage. I believe the Gallery now switches to using G+ for storage when you are logged into that app.
Look in sdcard/Android/data/com.android.gallery3d/cache. There are a great many picasa-... folders there (which contain files with a .screen extension), along with one picasa_covers folder (which contain files with a .thumb extension). Not sure if these files are the pics cause I can't see them at the moment, but it's a start.

Off topic sorry, I have a question.... you cant share a picasa pic from the gallery ? i wanted to send a pic from picasa within the gallery to a friend but it would not let me
Location
All albums which were selected for offline viewing is stored under /mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.apps.plus/cache. you will see picasa-xxxxxx folders, which contain images without any extension. Google has made it as hard as possible. Most threads discussing this topic are old and the only reply you would see is that only thumbnails are being saved and not the images

getting rid of picasa
I have a rooted galaxy note 2 and I had picasa pics in my photo gallery that I could not delete. I disabled the picasa uploader and searched everywhere for the pictures, I had no luck so I used my file manager and searched the system file and found several picasa files. So then I used root explorer and searched picasa and then deleted all the picasa files and then rebooted and the picasa pictures were gone. I don't care for picasa and have no intention of ever using it. But that route worked very well for me.
Hey, I know this is an old thread, but, I stumbled across this page looking for a way to backup the synced Facebook gallery images on my sister's phone. Some jerk who stole her old phone logged into her Facebook and deleted all of her pictures. Lucky for us they were all showing up in her phone still under Facebook albums in the Gallery. I want to thank simms22 because I found the cache files in internal storage/Android/data/com.sec.android.gallery3d/cache it seems that all of the folders that start with "sns-" are Facebook albums, all of the albums starting with "picasa-" are, well, Picasa albums. Each folder contains each picture without an extension. I simply transferred them to my computer and used a bulk rename utility to add .jpg to every file, and, voila! We got her pictures back! They are definitely not the original size, however, this is much better than complete loss of all photos! I'm just really glad my sister chose not to update her Facebook sync info with her new password so I could save her data for her!

[Q] Instant upload and gallery

Hi guys.
So I've been using Instant upload for a long time now and I like the option to have extra copies of my images stored in the cloud in case something happens to my phone or something like that. Everything works great except one thing.
From time to time I get new folders in gallery, albums of pictures that are already in the main "Instant Upload" album are showing up alone. Sorted in the Y/M/D format (usually). That wasn't a big deal, I downloaded Perfect Tool for Picasa and dealt with it by deleting extra albums, and only leaving album "Instant Upload" undeleted. And for a few days everything is good again. And a few weeks back problems started, by problems I mean something that Google changed. New captured pictures are uploaded but put into the separate folders and again, sorted by date. That just looks ugly in the Gallery.
So my question is next.
Is it possible to keep the option for Instant Upload but make it not visible in the Gallery ? I'd really like that.
If there's the need to use a different Pictures Viewer, let it be.
Please, someone answer.
Thank you for reading.
I think you have to uncheck the synchronization with Instant Upload and Google Photos in accounts' settings, then clear gallery's cache if needed.
But won't that disable uploading photos to the cloud ?
Still need help with this, if anyone knows anything about how this works, please help out.
I'm having the exact same experience. Apparently it's a known issue and Google is already working on a resolution.

P.S. This is not a Gnex specific issue... it's happening on all phones.

HTC One M8 Gallery Issues

Hi, if anyone can help with my issue id really appreciate it.
ITS DRIVING ME NUTS
I believe this issue not to be specific to the HTC One but Ive never had it before.
The issue is that I keep getting random photo albums appearing in my gallery.
The photos look to be cached images, say from apps and that sort of things.
Everytime i go in and delete them and check back later, I have more.
Ive searched Google and cant find a solution.

Check and see what Google syncs.. Sometimes Google + photos snyc to gallery, picaso photos or whatever their called.. So uncheck them and then clear data on gallery apk..

That would drive me nuts... My gallery just crashes all the time after rooting and applying one of the roms
I had this problem too. Only way I could solve it was to press menu button at the gallery home screen and select show/hide albums. Select the ones you want to display and return to gallery.

Install quickpic from the play store and "hide" the folders with the offending images in.
They are usually from apps that have images in them.,
Once hidden in quickpic they will not appear in gallery
Just hide the album like duvall87 mentioned.
That's the only way.

Same here
I have the same issue this Cache folder keeps coming back and most frustrating part is that all these photos are uploaded to G+.
I have another issue as well with SD card. I delete files from External SD card and it keeps coming back this happens only when I copy some files from my PC to SD Card.
Anyone has any solution to this?

possible sollution
had the same problem, I browse a lot on 9gag ( images and crap), look at gallery and found aprox, 1700 images and 500 mp4 (gif) i browsed acros.
I just delete them every time but maybe this helps
settings---account/synchronise---google---( click your gmail account)---
when in your google account it says in syncs data from
-agenda
-apps
-automatic back-up
-chrome
-contacts-
-drive
-gmail
-google...
-...
-....
experiment with unchecking some of these like uncheck the syncs app data of chrome
If fixed it with installing ES file explorer and added .nomedia file to android/data/
Rebooted device and everything seems to work like it should...
No cache files in gallery
hopefully a fix
