New android user here....How can I stop certain apps from defaulting back to allowing notifications? Everytime I turn my device back on I have to go uncheck them manually again. I'm running stock w/ 5.0.2

Hey. So ive got CM7.0.3 on my DZ, its great. One thing though, how do i get it to vibrate when i get a text message? I checked the settings and have no idea how to do it if at all possible! xD
Another thing, say if i want to put another ROM on my phone, like Virtuous. Can i get all my apps into a zip file that i can then install onto my other rom somehow? So it saves me downloading all of the apps individually again.
Thanks!

Not sure about the vibrate option for messages on CM7 cos its been a while since I've used it. But with regards to your apps, the best bet is Titanium Backup. Not only will it back up all your apps it will back up all you app data. If you get the pro version it supports batch operations and makes reinstalling all your apps quick and easy.
If you do give the app ago, one word of warning. Don't back up and then restore system data particully if your moving to a different rom.
To vibrate when receiving a text:
Messaging Application > Settings > Notification Settings > Vibrate Settings
You can select when you want it to vibrate and change the vibration pattern from there. To get to settings, just hit the menu button when the messaging app is open.
So I rooted using this method - [ROOT][NCIQ][EG30/EG31/EK02] Auto root your existing stock ROM (w/o ODIN/ROM Flash) and did option A first then rebooted then option C and choose EK-02 since I was going to update to EK-02 modem (had eg30). I then used recovery to load Caulkins 2.01 rom from internal card then I rebooted and then I did Rogues "Desperado" kernal and finally flashed to ek-02 modem.
So my first question. Did I do that in the right order or should I have done it differently.
Second ?. Can I remap the power button back to ending calls. When I press it now it does not hang up the call.
Third. How can I get it to not use default mail and sms apps. I've installed yahoo mail and handcent but I get double notifications for both mail apps and sms apps. I've gone into both default apps and told them to not retrieve messages, not to notify, etc but I still get notifications. I've gone into settings and tried to set program as default but that option is not selectable for every app installed.
Thank you,
hi, i wonder something and hopefully someone can reply. i use my phone with all syncs on. in backup and reset menu back up my settings and automatic restore are ticked. However sometimes after flashing a rom my apps load automaticly, sometimes they don't. whenever i flash a rom, in set up i do exactly same things, same settings. anyone have any opinion?
any idea?
I did the upgrade to 4.3 and HATE it. It took quite a while but I was able to get back to stock MC2. I keep getting the notification about the system software upgrade and have choose "install later" 3 times and it stops prompting me for a little while but then it just starts reminding me again. Is there a way to STOP my Sprint Note 2 from doing this? or better yet a way to stop my phone from even looking for a system software upgrade? I am rooted but don't have any idea how to do this or if there is even a way to. Any ideas???
Me too, would love to stop the stupid pop-up
It's driving me crazy. I don't want to update ever. How can i stop the pop-up?
you need to flash a modified build prop, or you can use rom toolbox to edit it also.
Do a search, or make a flashable with only the build prop, edit the build/version and flash/reboot...
This "tricks" the phone into thinking it has the latest version = no more update notices...
Wondering the same thing but what build/version should it be updated to to prevent the update notice?

here you go
This is how i've manually stopped OTA notifications...
Disable OTA Update Notification, use an app like Root Explorer, go to
/system/etc/security/otacerts.zip
rename to otacerts.zip to otacerts.zip.bak and reboot.
Ok, so I upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.3 the other day, not by choice. After the update completed, I noticed some lag issues and Freezing issues. So I decided to wipe the phone and put it to "Out of Box State" which completely deletes your apps and data and anything else and put the phone back to stock. (with the exception of 4.3, that remained). So far I haven't had any more of those issues. However, I only have one question I was hoping someone can answer.
1. When adding a new contact, How do I set the Default to add them to my Google account instead of the default that is now the "Device"
Before, I was able to use Google as default...but can't seem to figure out how to set it that way again...
Thanks in advance!
