To use the google camera, you have to be running an AOSP ROM like LineageOS. I have not tried it yet, but should work unless their is something funky with the kernel we have to use for now.
For using Gcam you need to be rooted, Twrp.
Flash Camera2api enabler, instal Gcam, via Magisk flash gcam slow motion enabler and enjoy

Hey community, what's up?
I'm curious if there is any option to enable 4k video recording? I activated camera2api and I'm using the google camera (the latest port a very kind developer has made). Everything works perfectly, except 4k video recording. The method described in this post only works for MIUI, in RR we neither have the folder, nor the corresponding file.

Long story short guys: if I switch from FHD to 4k, the camera stops working. Does it has to do anything with the firmware I'm currently using? I've tried several camera mods, but none of them worked. Can I enable it somewhere in my system files (like I did with camera2api?)?
Additional question: do I need to update/flash firmware updates in general? Does it provide any benefit? Someone provides the latest firmware but I have the strange feeling that flashing one of them can damage my device (however they are classified in china & global version --> no flashing of "wrong" firmware but it's still somehow scetchy...).
I know you are busy and it's pretty much to ask, so thank you very much for your answers! Best regards
Marvin M.

Slow motion has been fixed for like 3 months already
I even posted a thread here about that
Why 4k isn't stabilized? As it is eis, if 1080p can be stabilized then why not 4k?

Probably SOC limitation.
4k Eis needs more computational power.
App not installed
Sorry Guys,
I'm trying to installa latest versione (and previous too) of Arnova' Gcam but process end with "App not installed".
Actually I use version 7 of GCam that I've installed with no root following the specific thread.
I've Andoid 8.1 official ROM.
Any solution?
Thanks

You need stock camera if you don't have it.
Then to record in slow motion you first need to open stock camera and switch to video recording. Then close stock camera, open Google camera and go to slow motion, it will work. You need to do this every time after restarting the phone.

Some help? After factory reset i cant install Gcam. I cant find Septembar pached boot img. How to flash again Gcam?
I have enabled 4k recording in default camera app by built prop editor in my whyred device im running on latest miui 11.0.3.0 global stable rom with latest orange fox recovery and latest magisk.
My problem is that 4k recording is not working in any of the 3rd party apps. I tried different mods of gcam like ultra cam, tr cam, parrot gcam. But whenever i enable the 4k resolution in settings and try to record a video my app automatically closes and i tried installing open camera app from playstore and faced the same issue. And i flashed the rom again so that i could neglect some software issue but still facing the same issue.
My 4k recording and slow mo not working with any of the gcam mods and i came to know about the issue its bcoz of new camera blob . And i never know about this camera blobs someone tell me what it means is it gud to downgrade to old camera blob or i get gcam for new camera blob
Hello everyone, I installed lineage with 12android. Looking for a official GCam that will work on this system.
I read information on the internet. The processor is suitable, the firmware is new, Google services are installed. Custom GCams work, but I cant understand why the wide-angle module and 48mp do not work in these programs.
I think this is a common problem and I hope there is a solution already.
+ a problem with the volume of video recording (very quiet), in some messengers the recording of a video message lags.
(before that, pixelexpirience was installed, which worked slightly crookedly. Google camera did not work there either.)
