Alright, I know the camera isn't broken because the camera works on any rom that isn't cyanogen based. I made sure i wiped all data and cache before installing cyanogen and I got the correct gapps too, but every time i try to load any camera app, it errors and shuts down. the integrated camera app says "cannot connect to camera" and then closes right away after opening it. How is this fixable? what am I doing wrong?
Bump, Im having the same issue. Its perplexing to say the least.
What camera are you using? I was on Paranoid Android 2.54 and when I flashed the 4.2 camera, it did not play nice. Taking a picture will freeze the app and then from that point on it never connected to camera. Are you pulling the right Gapps?

I flashed black bean v7 along with the gapps they posted on their website for bb7. I've been flashing the 4.1 gapps on the 4.1 Roms and 4.2 gapps on the 4.2 Roms. I did a bit more research and a few people have mentioned a bin file that they grab from the stock image and put into /data on the new rom. I'm going to try that in a bit.
Try this,

T-Mobile SGS III
i tried Cyanogenmod 11 nightly, , CM11 Linaro and SlimKat 4.4, and everywhere i have the same problem, only the front camera works. in stock roms like LRS, everything is fine, as expected. i tried different camera apps, but the problem remains the same, the camera doesn't work, only the front camera does. there isn't even a button in the camera app to switch between back and front camera, as if i only have one.
is there a fix or a workaround for this? not having a camera is a dealbraker for me, but i really don't want to stay stock. i flashed multiple times, used different gapps versions, did factory resets and reboots, nothing seems to help, the stock version was 4.4.2 v50020. anyone else experiencing such problems?
WEIRD!!!!
I'm having the same problem. My Gpad came from the factory with 4.4.2 installed. and when I try to put any custon rom, this problem is with the camera. any solution? :crying:
Yes. The same problem. Maybe cyanogen team (Bug: CYAN-4444) can find solution.
same problem here, tryied every rom and kernel and nothing. only stock firmware back camera works.. can anyone help us?
read in one SlimKat thread that using the Google Camera from play store would work with all the custom roms, since it uses a different API than other apps.
Haven't tried myself, but you can give it a try
Google camera doesn't work better for me. This is very annoying

For me neither. Also in the latest builds where infected said the back camera should be fixed, it doesn't work for me.
The problem with camera is present on not only custom roms. It exists on official v50010a firmwares after downgrade. Possibly it's driver\kernel problem, which is caused distinction in camera's modules. Maybe new revisions of the G Pad use some other modules, than older ones.
Any directions to fix it ?
IMHO, they need to get out driver for camera from official 20a. But how it function with kernel, this is the big question that must be solved.
So, there is nothing i can do, except waiting somebody solving that issue ? No mistake on my side ?
Having no back camera is really not a problem to me, but i can't stand having something misconfigured...
Both cameras working for me slimkat 6.2
Not for me....
Some have problem... most don't, something different about your gpads ?

Rear camera not working too
Hi
For me the rear camera won't work too.
My G Pad is a V50020d with stock 4.4.2. I installed the Cyanogenmod 11 via CWM Philz Touch.
Same problem here
tried cm11, paranoid e now um on mahdi, no back camera on any of 3 roms
I haven't tested other custom roms, but Infected's CM11 M9 won't fix the back camera for me.
My G Pad (stock V50020a) is made in Brazil, there might be something to do with this driver or component-wise.
There is a source codes of the last firmware and kernel for the g pad on the lge site.
Maybe, it will help developers to add support for our camera module in the cyan kernel.
Same problem here... Spanish lg g pad 1 month of use
Installed CM11 - KitKat 4.4.4 and the camera, at times, locks up and won't take a picture. I have tried the stock apk for the 4.4 camera and the same thing happens... Any ideas?
I just ripped off 3 shots in short succession on my homemade build (T889 specific 4.4.4 CM11). It worked fine for me. Are you able to reproduce it reliably? Which gapps are you running? Try dirty flashing the rom over your install if you haven't done so since your last gapps flash.
Hello everyone,
I'm posting on here because I can't find any solution to my dilemma which I am sure that other people in the AOSPA legacy community have also experienced. I have been using Paranoid Android on my T989 since the 4.4.3 update and I have regularly updated my roms since then. Somehow ever since I updated my phone to 4.5 beta 3, something prevents me from being able to hear or be heard during regular phone calls around an hour after I restart my phone.
I have tried everything to try to make my phone back to normal, I have updated my versions of AOSPA, I have downgraded to stable versions, I have gone to a debloated stock rom (which worked perfectly fine but who likes touchwiz android 4.1.2?) and back to AOSPA, I tried the latest Carbon nightly rom and the problem persisted, I have wiped my internal memory, cache, davlik, etc. multiple times. I am at a total loss as to what I should do to fix this issue. I'm currently running it on 4.6 beta 1 and I still have the issue.
I really love my GS2 and I don't want to part with it or have it running stock. Please help me.
I really appreciate it,
Chris
I've had the same issue , I was running the latest liquid smooth rom . I just flashed back to stock using Odin and all is fine on the stock rom . I just rooted again and am hesitant to install another kitkat rom for fear of this calling issue ........ Anyone else with this problem ?

I am also getting this problem on Slim 7.8....must be an audio-caf issue....Can someone go back to an old KK rom (one from earlier months) and see if they experience the same issue? Preferably cyanogenmod
I flashed to stock rom via oden and spent the weekend with the phone and all was good , I flashed to the latest cm-11 with no addons , stock cm-11 kernal and after an hour or so I lost call audio again . We must have done something to the phone in a previous rom cause not many people are having this issue . Now I have flashed about 75 different roms with no issue , I hope someone finds the problem cause I'm not to keen on the stock rom !
I've seen posted that snapchat was the cause of the no call audio problem we are having , I flashed the latest liquid smooth rom last night , download all my apps that I usually do except snapchat and I've had no issues with the calling bug . All is working great .
Hi I don't know if this is the appropriate place to post this but I was wondering if anyone had a known fix for the camera for my t-mobile galaxy S3. It used to work before the last two snapshots of CM, now it just says Camera has stopped working on all Camera applications. Maybe I should go back to the last stable? That was a while now.. Thank you in advance! Also Have tried flashing Slimkat, seemed to work but I care for the ROM much. Maybe can someone point me in the direction of a good ROM to use?
Try Nexus Camera
I was on CM 11 M12 and was having a similar issue. Any time I would try to change the flash status the camera app would fail (Cannot Connect to Camera) and not come back until I rebooted the phone. I switched from CM11 M12 to Pac Rom 4.4.4 KTU84Q and had the exact same issue. Tried the CM Camera Fix App (CMFix) and that did nothing. I went and got the Nexus Camera App from the Play Store and haven't had any issues with the camera since. It's kind of weird because it appears to be the EXACT same camera but it worked for me.
