I'm also looking for a stock recovery for a T-Mobile US M9, but I'm on build number 1.32.531.25. Will I need to flash this specific build number stock recovery when I want to take OTA updates?
Back to recovery with unlocked HTC M9
Did this end up working for you with your unlocked HTC One M9 back to stock recovery?
Also, I am currently running 1.32.617.30, the site you mentioned above only has 1.32.617.6 signed. Since I'm S-On, I'll need to load it with a signed version if memory serves me correctly. Will I cause any headaches by flashing the recovery with the later version than the one I am running?
Thanks for the help!

Guys, sneakyghost's full stock firmware packages contain stock recovery. Just download the full stock file for your device, unzip it and remove the recovery image.

Hi Everyone,
As mentioned in the title, its a very simple yet important question.
Will rooting my international and unlocked HTC One M8 prevent me from receiving OTA updates on stock rom?
Thanks

You will receive OTA updates so long as you are on the stock rom with stock recovery (with stock CID or S-OFF) though I recommend having S-OFF if you intend to do so as an extra precaution.

Be sure to check my edit. HTC OTA/RUU's have bricked phones with a modified CID and S-ON on previous phone(s) so I recommend having S-OFF just in case.
You might lose some standard apps, but since they are on the data partition, which unlocking wipes, it shouldn't cause a problem.

exactly i dont want to risk it by flashing something else and bricking it
It wouldn't brick it. It just wouldn't apply an OTA update in future (it'd fail with an error message)
EDIT: Found it!

@EddyOS Nice Find. @xdaaccount123
The way i create stock backups is by going into fastboot and booting into fastboot mode and booting into TWRP "fastboot boot" command,
Either TWRP or CWM will give me the option to backup the recovery. That or i flash SuperSU (which is only 1 binary and a system file), and use
Flashify to create a backup of the recovery. Glad you found your solution however.
I was gonna go down that route but thought it easier to just find the stock recovery so others now have a reference as well should they need it

I'm not sure. If you go to Settings>About>Software information you can check the software number.
The Dev edition is going to be 1.32.617.6 or 1.32.617.30. If the numbers match, then it would be fine.

I believe that you need to lock the bootloader first before you accept the update

Edit: those links for getting ur device in stock state not flashing MM firmware but i found it useful to share
The linked instructions are obsolete since the backups they were made for do not exist anymore. The updated instructions and the revised backups can be found in my google sheet (a link is in my signature).
But be informed that there is no official MM update for other versions of the M9 than the developer and the unlocked US version. If you want MM on any of the other models you need either S-OFF, sneakyghosts firmware package and the latest Viper rom or S-OFF and all files found in clsA's instructions for converting your M9 to a developer edition.
the Only way to back is flash RUU.and the cid must same and RUU's version must equal or higher than your M9 have

The bootloader only gets locked if you relock it with fastboot. (And because many people here seem to be missinformed: There is no need to relock if you want to install OTAs or flash a RUU.zip. The only things that don't work with S-ON and an unlocked bootloader are using a RUU.exe and flashing official firmware packs with fastboot.)

bump because I changed question
you can download the latest ruu from my signature, itll get you the latest radio and firmware. you will have to reinstall twrp afterwards though to reroot. only way I can help you out. it wont effect s-off or unlocked bootloader, and also wont wipe data.

Look up what firmware is, it should be easy to find answer.
RUU is firmware + ROM.
ROM Upgrade Utility
If you are on custom ROM, this saves a step. Also when new OTA hits you can flash firmware and stay on your ROM of choice.
