I am having serious problem with my resolution or aspect ratio or both. Text and apps are just too small. The only thing accordingly working to the settings are the UI menus. But any app would just look to small. I'm on stock 4.4.2.
Check attached screenshots. How do I fix this?

Hello,
I have CM7 on my kindle. When I set a new background picture I notice that quality is worse then original file. So the picture looks blur. When I zoom picture manually it looks much better then when it is set as background. Does anyone noticed such a "problem"? Are there any way to solve it?
Thx in advance.

It worked just great. Thank you
After struggling with this myself, I found that 1200x1024 wallpapers fit the best on our screens.
Also when you find an image don't just copy the thumbnail actually open up picture before copying, and the screen Res is 1024x600 if I'm not mistaken

I had a similar issue, at popular wall sites I found ipad/ipad2 walls work ok but it does crop a touch off the top and bottom. These are 1024x1024 so that leads me to think agtef's 1200x1024 conclusion is likely exact.
Hey!
I received my tabpro and i notice so much lag in games like simpsons tapped out. My girlfriend has Tab 3 and it runns perfectly. Is it about the resolutions, since i have 2560x1600. Is there any way to lower my resolution or do I have to install custom ROM.
And why my homescreen resolution is not that 2560x1600. My image is 2560x1600 and it looks nice in gallery but after i use it as my wallpaper on homescreen it gets blurry.
I thought this tablet is powerfull in games and so on. But i am very disappointed. All help is needed so help me to to get clean rom or just help to lower my resolutions.
Any suggestions?
I'd like to know this aswell.

It should be possible to change the resolution of an app with "app settings", an XPosed Framework module. (root required)
When you set an image as your wallpaper it gets zoomed in (as it has to fit screen and scroll horizontal), therfore, the pixels of the image won't match pixels on the screen anymore and get re-calculated, making the picture blurry.

One of the first things I have noticed with the Tab Pro 8.4 is a severe imbalance between the font sizes of Samsung UI elements and non-Samsung. For example in Play Store when I enter text in the search box it's crisp but quite small. Yet the text in the Settings menus is a very comfortable size compared to the Google font size. If I increase the font size system-wide then the Google font size becomes comfortable and the Samsung font size becomes cartoonishly big.
Has anyone else noticed this and/or come up with a reasonable solution?
Perhaps one culprit is the fact that the true DPI of this device is 359 and Samsung has programmed 320 into the build.prop. That means it's lying to the OS that the screen is 9.4" not 8.4". So apps are drawing text and graphics a bit too small, but Samsung decided to jack up their own font sizes to a comfortable range. If I were to edit the DPI to 320 that still wouldn't be likely to help as then Samsung would just remain cartoonishly big.
I agree 100% with this problem and have tried changing the DPI in the build.prop. Big mistake as it causes crashes everywhere in Sammy apps.
The only work-around I have found was to use the Xposed framework with the App Settings app. This way you can adjust each app individually.
Its not a perfect solution, but its the best I have found in the 5 days I've owned this tab.

Yep, I've used it before on other devices. I used the newly released FlashFire to take a backup of my system to external SD before installing Xposed. I currently have a dpi of 360 assigned to all of: Chrome, Dropbox, Gmail, gReader, Google Maps, Netflix, News & Weather, Nova Launcher, Plume, Root Explorer, Tapatalk, Titanium Backup, PressReader, and the App Settings app itself (as everything was a bit too small). That puts these apps in the same range of screen element size as on Nexus devices. Feel free to pick a bit higher for a bit bigger as we do tend to hold tablets further from our faces than phones.
In fact the Nexus 5 itself (which is my daily phone) has a build.prop that is too large for the real screen size, 480 instead of 445 (factor of 7.8%). But it does make the UI a bit more comfortable without sacrificing too much screen space. So theory if you want any apps on the Tab Pro to display their UI elements at least as large as they physically appear on a Nexus 5, you'd assign a DPI in the 380-385 range to those apps.

Old thread but thanks! My GF has the 8.4" model and in the latest Facebook app the font is like 1/32" and she cannot read it
I read here and there the forum, rooted the tablet, installed xposed, installed AppSettings and changed the DPI, it worked! :good::good::good:
Because of my eyesight, I have to increase the display and font sizes to 'Large'. 'Large' isn't the highest option... it's the step right above default. When I open up my dialer and make a call, and open the keypad, it is scrunched. Take a look at the photo. Anyone else experiencing this? Will some of you increase both your display and font sizes to 'Large' and see if the same happens on your XL?
Thanks!
I have that issue. I was on 7.1.2 Beta2 and now on final 7.1.2 non-VZW (N2G47E).
I also have my text size set to large and don't see that at all. Even the largest size doesn't "scrunch". The lettering does gets a little smaller on the smaller size option though. I am on stock rooted 7.12 with the stock Google dialer. If you're using a different dialer or a theme, those might possibly be causing your issue.
Hello. To prevent battery drain, changed dpi and resolution and cores of course. H-rom v30 works great. But have issue. When taking photos in stock camera, preview screen is much bigger, i can See less than half of taken Pictures. Is any way to change resolution of preview. Non stock camera apps works normal.
Can I change number of icons in app drawer and scrolling direction.
Thanks
