Thanks to @siraltus, I am happy to report that his trick for getting the international icons that he shared in my thread in the Note 4 forum also works on a rooted S6 Edge. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2951057
Once rooted, edit system/csc/features.xml with an app like Root Explorer and this line:
<CscFeature_Framework_ReplaceDataTypeIconAsOpBrand>OYC</CscFeature_Framework_ReplaceDataTypeIconAsOpBrand>
Save, exit, and reboot.

Interesting thing though is that I am roaming up in Canada this week, and the phone is displaying the icons for the carrier on which I'm roaming. Bell shows 4G+ for LTE.

Hmm, try adding that line to others.xml, too. It's a "secondary" CSC feature file.

I'll give that a try and report back.
It does not appear to have worked.
A combination of this whole adding vsw to device name in build prop will get rid of the s finder and quick connect in the pull down menu.. I actually use the xx method for device name to grant myself the combo signal style, combining download booster days signal and Wi-Fi into one blocky block

Looking for the image files for the stock TW signal bars, not Wifi, but the six cell signal bars icons..
I have been in res/drawable-xhdpi and changed/painted those -names of files I changed the color on are "tw_stat_sys_6_level_signal_6.png" and "tw_stat_sys_6_level_signal_6_fully.png" and still no love...???
Is this an XML thing?

Those are the correct location - systemui/res/drawable-xhdpi/
tw_stat_sys_6_level_signal_0 -thru - tw_stat_sys_6_level_signal_6_fully
Have you tried changing all 14 of those images? My other phones would read the _fully ones but I think this one reads the ones without _fully. I have some signal mods and those are the images I changed.

I found this tutorial here forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106739. After some tinkering I finally got it to work but it does take away the option to change from CDMA to CDMA/LTE. I've only used odexed on stock ROM.

Only issue I've had so far is the missing option in wireless and network to change in and out of lte but my lte works fine. You can still change it in the dialer if you know your msl number which is what I usually do to avoid a reboot. Its based off of stock framework I can't say if it will work on other roms.

If I can figure it out I will. When the menus and caller id worked the swap button did not. I plan on trying it again.
anyone know how to change the pull down name on the Eg4t I have removed everything sprint but this name on it. and if anyone also knows where to find a different shutdown animation and make it work .. I am not on sprint anymore at all and wish to remove all sprint notifications or names.

Flash the mod, go to 3Minit in app drawer, check either "Remove Carrier Text" or "Custom Carrier Text"
well i tried that and it crashed my phone.. it sticks at the end of my boot animation and the backup I did well it wont let me restore .. next idea?
Install xposed mod... Then xblast for xposed... Tons of other mods for xposed also

Hi, i have just bought the g4 saturday and am not yet rooted, unfortunately i have the problem that tasker the normal way can not change display timeout, which is kind of annoying to me, so i thought id do it through the setzings binary, but i need to know the exact name and path of the display timeout inside the settings.db. so if someone with a rooted device and an sqlite editor could check that for me id be very pleased!
Edit: exact file location is /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
Can't seem to find anything relating to screen timeout, only for powersave, would that be it?

Ok, so now that i am rooted, i still had a bit of a struggle doing this, but after a while i found out that selinux was the culprit, so i did
su
setenforce=0
settings put system screen_off_timeout 120000
setenforce=1
In tasker as a shellscript and that did the magic. Didnt try if just setting permissive and using the standard tasker way workes as well, but however, now it does as expected.

As long as you get the US version you should be good. I've been using it for a couple weeks and get really good 5G coverage all throughout the midwest states. Previously I had the rog 5 flashed from CN>WW and it sucked so just make sure you're getting model AI2201.

I didn't have to change any APN settings I was able to just toggle 5G on luckily. Here are my defaults incase it helps you though.
