so backstory first:
mother-outlaw drops off her kindle fire..... its stuck in a boot loop ( just keeps cycling the 'kindle fire' logo)
I initially had no idea what version of anything this was but later found S/N and determined to be KF 1
I have run all the utilities KUU, KFU, Etc.... none do anything
when I plug to the wall nothing at all just loop no lights.... when I initially turn it on I get a quick flash with some illegible pixels on screen like its trying to boot but then straight to loop
when I hook to computer using an actual data cable not normal USB.... after sitting overnight the orange light will at some point during the night come on and stay on..... today I let it sit with light on for about 8 hours while gone..... and when I reboot after the light has been on it will stay on as long as connected to computer
I truely have no idea of battery state, ie if its charging, if its charged, where its at, etc
I CAN see the device and issue reboot commands etc through ADB from computer
I am not opposed to total wipe/flash if needed.... of course since this is for my computer illiterate mother-outlaw Im sure it would be better to not start over ( I have confirmed with her however there is nothing that needs to be saved on the device, its for browsing and games only)
Suggestions? Fixes?
I have read hundreds of pages on this forum and others and its all just a jumbled mess in my mind by now..... so now Im calling for HELP
Latest system version 6.3.3 doesn't work well with KFU or unbrick utility
Likely need a fastboot cable

Hi and greetings to all
Before I mention my issue I would like to state..
I have read most of the KF posts like beginers guide,Before asking for troubleshooting help,The 5 second bootloop! aka: Don't let your battery die! etc and it is only because I cannot find a specific answer to my problem that I am posting
I would like to thank people like pokey9000 , kinfauns and all the clever people that have given us KF life saving posts and those that came up with things like FFF, TWRP etc etc, props to you all These have been valuable in the past when I have been stuck in loading roms, rooting etc
Background
for some reason my KF got stuck in the yellow triangle boot loop, rebooting every few seconds...
The battery died before I could get round to hooking it up to my computer and run the necessary scripts...
I tried the usual adb and fastboot scripts - no response, the power didnt come on and the device was not detected.error:device not found
I left it to charge with the AC POWER pack over night...still no life or detection
I tried the
Resorted to the ubuntu memeory stick method...
Ordered a case opener and waited for it to be delivered...
few days later it arived and I opend the KF - didnt break anything
tired the shorting trick - No joy, terminal showed still waiting for device and no power light on the KF :crying:
left to charge again, still no joy
tried adb and fastboot on windows again... no joy.. error:device not found
I think the only thing I havent tried so far is a factory usb cable but I cant see how that will help me here unless ofcourse someone can tell me otherwise
fyi I had FFF and twrp installed and running an ICS 4 ROM
When your not working on it keep it charging via usb note that your battery may charge very slowly also try some of the usb scripts powering your device fully down send the command start and keep the short and plug in when it says waiting for omap you may find better success keep trying till you find a script that works likely usb fix parts install fff twrp youll know when you get it right or usb boot fff
I have been reading these forums ALL day, i have a factory cable and ive done everything I can think of as of now.
Earlier today I pulled the battery out of my kindle fire and put a dead one in its place (not knowing it was dead of course). After I realized the battery was dead I put the old one (100%) charged back in.....thats where everything went HORRIBLY wrong..
When I turn it back on it just goes to the boot screen "Kindle FIre" (non animated), stays there for about 10 to 15 seconds and then flashes and goes right back into the same exact screen. I can get it to go into fastboot with the flashing green traffic light (using my factory cable) but the problem is windows will not identify the device, its listed under the device manager as unknown. when I manually pointed it to the Andoid ADB driver it says error 10 (the device failed to start
I am completely lost, Idk what to do and if anybody can help me I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thanks

I had the same problem and the ONLY thing that worked for me was to copy all driver files to \windows\system32. You will probably find these files at C:\Program Files\Amazon.com\Kindle Fire\Drivers. Just select the 'DLL's from the appropriate flavor of architecture and the android_winusb.inf and copy them directly to \windows\system32. Hope this helps
So last night I was rooting a Kindle Fire 2. It's running 10.2.6. I was following a tutorial on this forum and I succeeded in rooting it. I flashed TWRP on it, but for some reason that didn't work. I tried booting to recovery and got a red triangle with an exclamation point inside it. It said it failed to boot. The device still worked at that point during the install. It was low on battery, though I had it plugged into my laptop. I was in fastboot and the device stopped receiving commands from it for some reason (I wasn't able to figure out why). Then the battery died. I guess a laptop usb port doesn't properly charge a tablet. But anyways, I plugged it into a wall charger for a couple hours and now it won't turn on. When I plugged it in, a charging light never came on. I used this same charger earlier in the evening and it charge the Kindle with no issues whatsoever, so I know it isn't the charger or cable failing to charge the device.
So here is where I stand:
When it died, it would still successfully boot
I was in fastboot when it died
Fastboot would not take commands from my laptop, whereas it had before I tried flashing TWRP (by that I mean when I try to send commands via the command line, it would simply say <waiting for device>)
The device is successfully rooted and bootloader unlocked
I've tried pulling the battery; I've tried holding the power button for 20 seconds, for 30 seconds and for short periods of time; I've tried any possible command from the computer. I haven't tried a factory cable because I don't have one. What do I do now?
Since you rooted and unlocked the boot loader... No warranty...so I guess try flash stock ROM...

It won't turn on for me to do that in the first place, though.
Mods - I just realized that I posted this in the wrong forum. I apologize for that.
Sorry if this has been covered before, I've been monkeying with this for about 8 hours now and am stuck.
Got a KF with FFF 1.4a that when powered on will briefly display (for about a second) the blue and white Kindle fire text then power off. My son dropped it several weeks ago, but it still worked fine. A week ago he brought it to me in this condition.
I've done several searches and the closest post I could find was one where a child dropped it a couple of times and it seemed like the battery had became partially disconnected. I pulled the back cover off and disconnected and reconnected the battery. Everything seems OK there. Held the power button down for 30 seconds to make sure it was "Off".
I can't get into fastboot via ADB in Windows or in SoupKit in Linux as it won't stay powered up.
Bought a KF fastboot cable on eBay and gained nothing, no fastboot & no response from the KF.
Any suggestions on what I might have missed?
Thanks
EDIT: I should add that I have ADB working with my SGS3 and that I used USBDeview to remove all of the Kindle USB drivers and then reinstalled them from the Kindle Fire Utility.
Make sure the drivers are installed. Shut down device all the way. Open up fast boot in cmd. Type
Code:
fastboot getvar store
It should say "waiting for device". Plug open the USB, and the kindle should turn on. Wait a few seconds, and then cmd will say something different(I forget what). Then you should be in fast boot.
Thank Ichigo for that
Thanks for your help. Didn't work though. I presume you mean plug it in with the fastboot cable. Obviously didn't work with the regular USB cable either.
Doesn't seem likely given the positive feedback of the seller, but I wonder if I did NOT get a FastBoot cable from eBay. Here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151050545254?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Any way I can check to see if the fastboot cable is working properly?
Looks like a fast boot cable to me.

Ok so really need some help as I’m on the verge of giving up!! I don’t know anything about what you guys are doing!! My kindle fire 8.9 just decided to go ‘red screen’ on me when I turned it on one day. I hadn’t done anything to it to try to mod it or anything- it just turned on and went straight to the red screen and that’s all it’s done since. I’ve tried disconnecting the battery for a while and then reconnecting - no joy. I’ve followed tutorials here to try to reset it via fastboot but have got stuck where it says ‘waiting for device’ - I plug it in and turn it on but it doesn’t find it and nothing happens. I don’t know how to get it into fast boot mode any other way and don’t have any other ideas for things to try so any help would be really great or I’m just going to have to chuck it out?.
I got it into fastboot earlier without the special fastboot cable. I had lubutu running on a memory stick. I installed the adb and fastboot stuff. The first time it wouldn't say "waiting on device" or whatever but the second time before installing the adb and fastboot stuff I changed the settings so it was normal releases and unsupported sources or whatever so it'd draw from a bigger pool. Then the waiting on device part showed up. I plugged a normal cable in and was turning it on and off and all that. But what made it go into fastboot mode was having it plugged in then holding power button to turn it off then I pressed and held down the power button and I think it's the volume down button (the one closest to power) then it loaded into fastboot ^_^. I'm gonna try to actually fix it now.
