My Tab S 8.4 LTE when connected to Kies shows Firmware update is available abt 1.5Gb size. when I download, the firmware doesn't update.
When i check from the Tab itself Settings>About Device>Update software, no updates are detected!
Does any1 have similar experience?

Has any one received frequent update for GT-N7100 purchased from UK on KIES. My OTA Update says am "on the latest firmware" however connecting to KIES and running the firmware upgrade option starts downloading and installing the upgrade on Note however nothing changes. I have repeated this process over and over yet the firmware version remains the same. Has any one seen or experienced this? or is this a issue with KIES.
So installed Kies today just to see if there was any firmware upgrades for my N7105 but the option to check / upgrade firmware isnt there... and when i select firmware upgrade and initialisation from the tools menu i just get a message saying "GT-N7105 does not support initialising"
whats the problem?? how do i check for firmware upgrades and perform any upgrades?
When I connect my Note II to my pc and launch Kies to sync and backup my info on my phone it says "Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update via Kies.
Current Firmware: PDA:MA4 / PHONE:MA4 / CSC:MA4 (ATT)
Is this correct on Kies or do I have a different firmware on my Note II? I have the factory firmware. The Only thing that I have updates on my Note II is when that Update patch was released via OTA. How do I get Kies to recognize my Phone's firmware?
One that other hand kinda off topic for this forum: I currently have the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 from At&t and it has 4.0.4 firmware. Any word on it getting updated to 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 via Kies or OTA?

This is normal. AT&T just pushed an OTA and Kies has yet to update with the new firmware version. I think it will get updated soon as UCAMA4 has just appeared on the SamMobile website.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Edit: As of 4/6/13, Kies now reflects UCAMA4 as the latest firmware.
I have rooted my galaxy tab s 10.5 LTE. And when I check for software update, it says the OS has been modified in an unauthorized way. And it is not showing if there are any updates!
Any pointers?
I am 5.0.2 for SM T805
You have to go back to complete stock or just use kies.
You have the latest firmware anyway.
OK so I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 from ATT Model SM-T707A. I recently switched from AT&T to T-Mobile. The new firmware came out (5.0.2). Supposedly, it can only be downloaded off OTA. Well, since I'm not with AT&T anymore, it won't let me do it that way. I tried searching everywhere for a way to download it and install it manually but I've been failing miserably. Can anyone help me out?
•Software Version: 5.0.2
•Baseband Version: T707AUCU1BOE5
•Kernel Version: 3.4.39-4973971
•Build#: LRX22G.T707AUCU1BOE5
I also haven't been able to find any information on SUCCESSFULLY rooting this model as well.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hey man,
Did you try updating via Samsung Kies? Details here:

Click on "update via computer".
Cheers,

Shouldn't make any difference what carrier you are on. You don't have to have a sim card in the device to update.
AFAIK it still updates from samsungs servers using the model and build number of your device.
By the looks of it you are already running 5.0.2 if that's your current firmware.
As said above just use kies/smart switch to update, if there actually is one.
There was a ~130MB update released a few weeks back (presumably for stage fright?).
It takes the build from BOE4 to BOE5... not sure if this shuts out Kingroot etc.?!
This thread says you have to have an active AT&T SIM card to upgrade.

Have you tried Samsung kiosk at Best Buy?
FYI, I was able to update a AT&T galaxy tab s with stock OTA update over WiFi, without any SIM in the tablet.
