Do the Google Play store work on the on a non rooted yet?
Doubtful since you need to install Xposed Framework and another apk to get Google Play to work on the FireTV.

It'll work as you just have to sideload 4 apks for Play to work but you'll see only limited number of apps. To get more out of the Play store on AFTV though, you'll need Market Helper which needs root.
Yes, you need xposed so root as well.
Which 4 APK do i need i have googleframeworks, goolelogin, google services and google play store apk i can login to google services and the play store opens but it don't show any apps it say no Internet connection and my sideloaded The CW app stopped working

How will you get around the xposed framework installation without root?

My bad, edited the post above.
Sorry I'm gonna post my question here and not make a new thread since it's somehow related
Since I've bought my FireTV last January, I only had to reboot it 3 times. 1st was a power fluctuation, next one was a firmware update, and last night another unfortunate power outage.
For those who use Market Helper, the spoofing resets after a reboot. And everytime it becomes a pain to spoof it again. The first too it's not too much pain (following the AFTVNews guide) but now I can't do it anymore.
I've tried every combination of Force Stop, Clear Data, Clear Cache, Market Helper 1 and 2 beta. Waiting anywhere between 10 mins to 24 hours. Nothing.
Anyone here can help who can reliably spoof their FireTV? I can't update my apps and it's a very frustrating experience in general
Thanks in advance.

This one?
I guess you'll have to wait:
NOTE: If you aren't yet able to install Hangouts on your phone or tablet, or the Play Store "Open" button takes you to the old Talk app, hang tight, we are rolling out Hangouts to everyone over the course of several days. Rest assured Hangouts will be available soon for all Android 2.3+ devices, tablets included!

If you really want to install the Google Play Services, then here is the link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms&hl=en
I deinstalled it a week ago with a bunch of other apps, because my battery was draining really fast. I couldn't find it via the Play Store app, but was able to install it via the link above. (and deinstall it afterwards, because i don't need it )
I do have this problem that Talk was preinstalled and the "Open" button in the Play Store takes me to Talk instead of Hangouts, but i didn't need the Google Play Services app for it.
i like many other bought this on sale day under the assumption that i would be able to get google play store and services on.
this however doesnt look the case as we are on 3.6.6
does this look like we are doomed forever without it
any help to myself and others would be most grateful
thanks in advance

Yes, we are stuck. I installed 3.5 AT&T but doesn´t work either. The only thing I could get is Swiftkey
I've been able to successfully install Google play services, account manager and the services framework previously. Managed to get apps such as YouTube, gmail and others to run without crashing. Problem is, I used specific versions and I can't remember which ones they were ? I'm trying to find out what I did right and then I can document it so I won't forget again lol. Bare with me.
Google play store is a no go on 3.6.6 though. Use 1mobile or something instead.

Thanks, but... It didn't work. I tried that this morning and it didn't allow me to install even 1 of the apks
Thanks anyway
does this require root to the device
thanks for any replies , forgot to add this
thanks
The method that lu1gj3s posted above would require rooting, as that's the same method for all Kindle Fire tablets. As for the Fire Phone I assume it's the guaranteed to way to make it work
Has anyone tried Baidu root or something similar? I think I'll give it a try tomorrow and then go through the method of putting Google Play on again

no haven't messed on that much with it yet as I am waiting for a couple of nano sims to arrive for the 2 that I bought. im not that bothered about the play store itself but more about maybe gmail, google chrome and you tube. As I have a nexus 4 now I am pretty used to google being a part of everything i use plus it works well with my chromebook

No root needed to make it work. I got it running without root on 3.6.6 except for the play store.

Must say its disappointing.
The main selling point for me is, its dirt cheap and we can run android apps off it
I will be trying to root this little bad boy, anybody had much luck?

Well as you've had people say that the downgrade to 3.5 from 3.6.6 works I guess I'll give it a try
But no harm in trying Baidu Root first
Can you update to 3.6.8? In that version there's no problem with Google Apps
ya same here 3.6.6 no google play
ya im in Ireland got phone for 99pound need google play badly need to update to 3.6.8
If anyone hasn't yet figured out that play store won't work on any version of 3.6.6 haven't even tried to solve the problem by looking it up.
I've got it all working but every now and then get play services have stopped coming up on my phone (if anyone knows how to get rid of that let us know, thanks). I've used blackmart but most of all I use aptoide for all my apps. What I have noticed as well any apps that confirm purchases with play store load up.
I have to say, the fire phone with Google services and gapps is 1 of the best phones out. I think it's great and while they've hacked the price, I'd hope more devs would invest more time in to roms and other goodies. £99 you'd have to be stupid not to get 1.

+1 here..
"google services framework has stopped"
the process "com.google.process.gapps" has stopped
Have tried numerous guides to get this to work on 3.6.6 and none of them work for me, and yes i've looked it up
If not how about being helpful and providing a link or copy and pasting the guide that works?, GoogleFu isnt working out for me.
All the youtube guides and plagiarised articles i can find all reference the same method that doesn't work out.
Alternatively they recommend moving them to system apps which you cant do unless you're rooted and that would mean a downgrade to 3.5
The screen is stuck on a white loading screen, Google play services still work and if you install an older playstore it automatically gets updated in the background to the later version , so unless the next play store update fixes this issue or a workaround is found its back to sideloading apps , which I don't mind as long as Google services still work for youtube app and maps and other google apps, also if you use Google plus it works fine but notifications won't load from g+ which I'm guessing is related to Google play services as older versions of the app have the same problem , also if I uninstall the latest playstore apk and then reinstall it it works initially and then goes back to being stuck on the white loading screen , just a few observations

Just noted this as well. The fun part is i celebrated the 4.6.1 Update with ordering* 2 used firephones for dirt-cheap in new condition - which just arrived some minutes ago.
Can tell you, that's some big "F0ck you" i got just now.
I have to add that Google Hangouts sadly is also broken.

I don't use hangouts, hopefully the next Google services update fixes the problem
I will +1 this issue. Better than the "Play Services has stopped responding" that I was getting before the 4.6.1 upgrade, but hopefully we can find a way around it...
A maybe possible "solution" that came up to me:
While still functioning (by freshly installing gplay services and gplay market), download _all the things(tm)_ you need.
Then try to get a working gPlay services apk, dump the - now by the update broken - gPlay services and gPlay market and install the working gPlay services, but leave out the market which would try to auto-update and flip **** again.
It's just a bad workaround. But if it might work, i'm fine with it. It's not like you have to browse the gPlay market every day.
So what Google play services did you install? I use hangouts everyday so I'd gladly give up the play store for hangouts

Would you not get the "This app needs an updated version of Google play services" error eventually
I removed Google Play Store and downgraded Google Play Services back to 4.4.52. The latest Google Play Services causes many issues like battery drain and force closes on Fire OS 4.6.1.
So I installed Google Maps 6.14.4 and it works perfectly with Google Now Launcher. The launcher works perfectly, even "OK Google" commands and wallpapers work. Google Drive, Sheets, Camera, Translate all work without the latest Google Play Services. Latest versions of Google Wallet and Google+ linking don't work without latest Play Services, I'll try older versions and update this thread.

Confirmed to work: Hangouts, Maps, Youtube, Chrome (Chrome doesn't depend on the play services anyway.)

Well, that's bad. I can't delete my own comments.
It's like the same procedure _you_ explained in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60279359&postcount=13 - just a bit simpler.
The thing is, it won't survive a reboot and takes time, so it's useless. The sad thing is, that you don't even have to open the gPlay store. It will update itself, without having you open it.
Edit:
To answer your question:
- Reboot the phone, as any previous attempts to "repair" do interrupt the process
- Take ES File Explorer and install Google Play Services 7.0.99, like from as you provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60279359&postcount=13
- install any version of gPlay store, open up a google app - the gPlay store will automatically do an update of itself and gPlay services in the background
- go to the system settings and delete the gPlay store (no time to be lazy here, timing counts)
- you should now have a somewhat broken gPlay-services app that even allows to open (having you ignore the popup) and working gApps like Youtube or Hangouts.
And as mentioned before, a reboot - forced by a crash or done manually - will force you to redo the steps above.

download this
apkmirror.com/wp-content/uploads/uploaded/54dd7979177e8/com.android.vending-5.2.13-80321300-minAPI9.apk
uninstall all google apps framework, services, account manager
re-install everything according to the howto for non-root.
open play store sign in, then immediately un-install the store from phone then install the new vending app that I asked you to download.
I believe when you immediately uninstall the store it stops it from upgrading, and was able to install the updated store.
Hangouts may be
Latest google play store 5.4.12 works fine with play services 7.0.99
As long as you do not use hangouts (uninstall or force stop it) the play services stays at 7.0.99 and all the other things work well.
May be someone else can try this out.
I can probably stay away from hangouts until a working version of play services arrives.
I installed the PlayStore from crackberry board. This PlayStore cant self update. I hope He cant update Services too. I tried to Reboot 3 Times and is still working. Give your more Feedback tomorrow
Hi,
When I search for apps on Google Play, quite a lot of software are not available, compared to other tablet/phone (e.g. Samsung).
I can manually install the apk and it works fine.
Is there anyway to make those software show up on Google Play?
Thanks

Try the Market Helper app. It works well for me (it did, anyway), but YMMV. Make sure you've got root access enabled in developer settings and/or SuperSU installed, as the app requires root to do its job.

I usually choose to fake/emulate one of the phones in the Phone section (the HTC One X+ works for my purposes, but you may want to change that if the Play Store blocks apps you're interested in). Make sure that, if you're using a Marshmallow/CM13 ROM, you grant the Market Helper app access to contacts, phone, and storage via the app's listing in the system settings; without those permissions, it can't do what it's designed to do. Also, when the app sends the device info over to the Android Device Manager servers, you may get an error message saying it can't send the device config (this happened to me recently, but I was able to successfully spoof the device in the past). In that case, the app won't work until the developer updates it, and you'll have to use the old-fashioned manual apk download & install process (or use a third-party app store).
Thanks for the tip on permission. That error did pop up.
Once the spoof is activated, Google Device Manager did show the latest activity is from the fake device. However, Google Play Store still hide the apps. For example, Plants vs Zombies 2. Tried several devices, including those I have for real and have the app in Play Store but none of them can pull out the apps.
Is there any other steps?
Thanks

Clear the cache for the Play Store app, and also try force stopping the Google Services Framework app. After that, if you still can't get it to work, try giving the device a couple hours to let the Play Store adapt to the device spoof.

which CM13 ROM/build are you running? You might want to clear app data for the Play Store if you can't clear the cache itself. Also, I'm pretty sure the device spoof is reset on reboot.

I don't know if you are having the same problem, but some Firephone users that complained about the Google-Play-Services APP errors, have apparently solved this problem, just installing others versions of the 4 APPs needed to install the Google-Play-Store on the Firephone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/fir...oogle-play-t2977237/post69690639#post69690639
They has said that you need to install the following APPs in this particular order:
- Google Services Framework, 4.4.4-1227136
- Google Play Services, 10.0.84 (036-13749526)
- Google Account Manager, 4.4.4-1227136
- Google Play Store, 7.2.13.J-all [0] [PR] 138561921
https://goo.gl/W4NbMy
https://goo.gl/r3sUsg
https://goo.gl/XmnzRB
https://goo.gl/GjymJx
I am currently using the above 4 APPs (latest versions), on my Two Firephones with FireOS 4.6.6.1, and on both of them the Google Play Store is working flawlessly, and I never have seen the "Google Play services has stopped" Error.
I really hope this will help you to solve your problem!
thank you, that did it.
I uninstalled the above 4 packages
reinstalled from the links.
logged back into my google account, and now good to go.
weird why the old apks stopped working after a very long time of being installed. wish they would of updated themselves.
I was having the same issues as described by others. I uninstalled the ones (all 4) I had, and I reinstalled the specific ones linked here in the instructed order -- so far, so good. Apps that quit working (refused to open, crashed...etc) are all back up and running!! So appreciate your knowledge & willingness to help!!! Thank you!!!!

AlCalavicci, Glad to hear that after re installing the 4 APPs, all is working flawlessly again!
As you already said, it is weird why the old apks don't auto update and stopped working, after a very long time of being installed, but I think that the problem is that this 4 APPs not updated themselves, because the Firephone is runing an Modified and very old Android Version.
For this reason, I and many Firephone owners, always check and download/install directly the latest versions of these 4 APPs from www.apkmirror.com, because most of the Google APPs, such as Youtube always require to have installed the latest Version of the Google Play services APP.
Although Amazon discontinued the Firephone, I still hope that they finally releases the FireOS5 that all their Amazon Fire Tablets (2015-2016) already have, and that it looks and also it is working very Smooth without lagging!
I am very happy to know that I have helped a little to solve your problem.

I don't know if you are having the same problem, but some Firephone users that complained about the Google-Play-Services APP errors, have apparently solved this problem, just installing others versions of the 4 APPs needed to install the Google-Play-Store on the Firephone:

They has said that you need to install the following APPs in this particular order:
- Google Services Framework, 4.4.4-1227136
- Google Play Services, 10.0.84 (036-13749526)
- Google Account Manager, 4.4.4-1227136
- Google Play Store, 7.2.13.J-all [0] [PR] 138561921

I am currently using the above 4 APPs (latest versions), on my Two Firephones with FireOS 4.6.6.1, and on both of them the Google Play Store is working flawlessly, and I never have seen the "Google Play services has stopped" Error.
I really hope this will help you to solve your problem!

Thank you Thank you Thank you! Don't know how you figured out the sequence and fixes, but it seems to have solved my problems too. I'm not giving up on my Fire Phone but there's not a lot of help out there. Every few months a new version of play services comes along that fails and there's no stopping it from updating no matter what anybody says. Hopefully this fix will last a long time.
Is it always a matter of finding the correct version of these apks?
