I just downloaded the latest update for HTC Sense Home via the Play Store. It brings the new theming engine from the One M9. But when I open it up to change/edit themes, nothing loads. All I keep getting is 'Network error'. All other reviews for the update also say the same thing.
Anyone have a fix?
Thanks
Wait for HTC/google to fix it maybe ?
It is broken for me too. I can no longer customize the color scheme of BlinkFeed under Personalize - Theme. It is stuck in greyish-blue on my phone.

Yeah htc has just ruined something that worked perfectly.
The network error issue is gone and I can now pick themes. Once you get there, you can change BlinkFeed's color.

It's still network error here most of the time, although it attempted to load the themes for a few times, before giving up to network error again.
It looks like the HTC servers are just swamped, and could not meet the demand when so many people are trying out the themes. Hopefully, it will all work better in a couple of days when the hype die down.

If you are referring to updating the HTC weather clock widget to that of M9's Sense 7, see this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59870646
Installing the quoted apk does the trick. I tried it on my M8 running stock lollipop.

The M9 / Sense 7 clock widget is what I was referring to....I'm still trying to figure out if we are supposed to have it with the Sense Home update for the M8 since the lock screen has it now. Seems strange one would have it and the other would not...

The weather/clock widget is not directly part of the updated (new) HTC theme. May be it will get updated soon, may be not until the M8 gets full Sense 7. Anyway, I used the linked apk, and updated it myself. It works perfectly fine.

Why would you get a desire and NOT a nexus one if you don't like sense?
Find Launcher.apk, Launcher2.apk or one of the launcher replacements in the market (ahome, openhome, home++) and install them to replace the sense homescreen.

You could try installing Launcher2.apk from Nexus One. Some people report it working fine on their phones. It didn't work for me though. Maybe I had the wrong APK.

Complete Android noob here please explain
In overly simplified terms, Sense UI is HTC's home screen, where as Launcher2 is Google's home screen for N1.
All programs on Android come in APK files. That's like a CAB installer on WinMo.
So all you need to do is search Nexus One forum for Launcher2.apk, download it on your phone and install it. Then when you press home button, it will ask you which home to launch. Choose Android home (or something similar) instead of Sense UI, but DON'T make it default just yet as it might not work.
If it does, next time you can make it default an voila - you have yourself a "Nexus One".
Though Sense UI will still be running, so you don't really save any memory or anything.
I have posted in this forum how to turn of Sense on the Desire. Search 'How to turn of HTC Sense' or something.
Since in that clip there was ACTUALLY a Desire being used, it should work. From what I remember:
Go to settings, all programs, search HTC Sense, turn it off.

You could also try to install the Helixlauncher2 app from the Nexus One forum. It's a modified Nexus One launcher2 with a lot more features. I already made a thread in the Desire Themes and Apps forum since I'm curious whether it works flawlessly or not on the Desire. Maybe you can crash test that launcher too?
ok default launcher 2 doesn't work gonna try the other one mentioned now

I have searched and found this question asked several times but never answered. Can someone please show me a way to make the homescreen calendar show appontments more than one day in advance? Like maybe a week or two? I have seen this action included in .cabs that change other aspects of the homescreen, so I'm sure that it can be done. But, I dont want to change my clock, font, background, or anything else on my homescreen. I have it looking exactly the way I want it. I JUST want to see my appointments for the upcoming week instead of just one day in advance. Can someone please point me to a .cab or a registry setting or whatever will do this?
TIA
If it makes any difference, I have a Verizon TP2 with stock 6.5 ROM and Sense 2.1.
I had the same problem...
I used Cookie's home tab to solve it... but that's sense 2.5
check out the themes, there are multiple solutions
I use TodayAgenda 1.5 on my home screen to display my upcoming appointments and tasks. The software is a free download on the Manufacturer's website and there are a lot of tweaks you can make to the display. It's the only software I've found to display both pieces of information in the way I want, I just disable the default calendar and tasks.

You could download latest factory ROM from htc and flash that if the custom ROM aspect troubles you. You would still want to back everything up first but there is no need for HardSPL etc.

You can upgrade the TP2 to sense 2.5 from an HTC ROM? Will I lose any T-Mobile custom stuff?
Ok, I checked out TodayAgenda and the website doesnt give a lot of specifics. From what I see, I have doubts that it is going to work on a Sense 2.1 homescreen. The program hasn't had an update since 2008. Does it work with Sense? I dont want to have to disable Sense and use the regular Today screen.

Hmmm, had a look at the t-mobile support page and the latest official ROM from them is still Sense 2.1; so going the official route looks like no-go.
Another option is at on this forum - see forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=661941 - have a look at the 9th post onwards.

Could you please post a link or URL to that download site? I've tried to search the HTC site and got nowhere (the latest update I could find was dated 10-14-09 ROM version 1.86.401.0 so I'm thinking that is not the lates one). Also, does anyone know if there is someplace to get all the Verizon add-ons in one place? I have found the complete stock ROMs, but nothing with just the Verizon stuff to install over a factory ROM. It would save a lot of time over searching for each add-on individually...if I can even find it all, lol. I would like to keep my ROM as stock VZ, just with 2.5. Any other programs, reg edits, customizations, etc. I would prefer to do myself...and I actually use some of the VZ stuff.

Flashed fresh 3.2.0.0 roms, sweet roms so far, except for one problem here. I didn't find HTC Mail Widget in the "Add to the home screen" menu. I was wondering if there were any way I can make that widget showing on the launch pro+? If so, how should I do it? really appreciate it.
HTC widgets can only be used with sense UI
Swyped on my EVO
Launcher pro does not work with sense widgets like the one you are trying.
Are you sure it is missing? I'm running Fresh 3.2 and the widget is there. I guess it is possible that something went wrong with the install but if that is the case try ref lashing.
If it still doesn't show, post again and I'll send the apk to you.

I've been using my iphone for the last few months but have recently decided to go back to my trusty old HOX. The problem is I've forgotten how to get facebook and twitter notifications to pop up on the lockscreen as they appear in real time. I can't even remember if they ever did do this, but I'm sure I remember something along those lines.
In ios7 the tweets and fb conversations pop up and light up the screen so you can just glance at your phone to see what's going on without actually turning it on. Is it possible in android? I noticed the social networking lockscreen option has disappeared, this might be what I was thinking of.
I'm using sense ARHD latest version, would consider flashing AOKP/CM to get this feature if it's possible.
Thanks.

Okay so, if HTC made it easy, I would have the answer for this or at least a way of asking them about it. Maybe someone reading this can help.
My M8 is still pretty boss in the line of HTC flagship phones, but I am not thrilled with most of the user-created themes that currently exist for download. I just spent a few hours designing a kick-ass theme using their new web browser-based Theme Maker Pro (Google it, because I can't post the link). I am so proud of it, that I published it for review to share with others on the Themes app.
Unfortunately, when I downloaded the theme from the Themes app onto my phone, there are missing elements. My main home wallpaper won't show, nor does the custom All Apps button. Now here's the kicker. The Great 'Maker' allowed me to upload a super high-res photo to divide into three home screen panels, which no theme currently has on my phone. Likewise, no theme currently has a custom All Apps button either. Not to mention, I've never even heard of wallpaper "stickers" which the Maker required me to create as well.
So, my conclusion is that the whole new Themes Maker is geared towards the new line-up of phones- the M9/10. But what's they got that I don't got?! I know my M8 is updated to the latest *Sense 7* and Lollipop. So, why won't these elements appear? They should say this on the themes website as well.
Can anyone help me out with this? My obsession isn't healthy I know, but that theme took a long ass time to make!
