ISE (Insufficient Space Error) - Post Root Fix , - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I don't mean to repost i am not attempting to artificials gain the 10posts goal , i only just saw the sticky post regarding the Q/A section and where to post only after having originally posted or created a thread in the general section. i am looking to delete that thread but dont see the option - this is my primary thread

I did the 1 click root fix viahttp://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
Generally it worked fine , the problem is that i did this with the explicit goal of only fixing the SD writing and storage issues
the phone only has roughly 2 gigs and 80% kitkat soaks up and not that im like app happy or anything but it makes app installation even weaker than an older cheaper phone thus killing a lot of the reason to have this fairly nice phone except for the camera which is fundamentally a non-prime reason to have this phone just a bonus.
So i installed the NextApp SDfix from the app store and applied its fix , and nothing especially changed , i also then installed link2SD
for further memory management. I can see a lot of info and i see how the system basically has the primary system memory with a legacy/emulated storage space as 2 seperate but basically same partition.
Then it recognizes as a entirely seperate ext memory the sd card , now since having tweaked with both these apps and everything generally running fine , i've moved this and that and dont have barely the basics installed i.e instagram/twitter/ ect ,... the system has about on the system drive some 300mb free obviously not a lot space in this age it is being very selective of what it will install and download from the app store , i was luckily able to reinstall CLEANMASTER after uninstalling it but i can't reinstall FACEBOOK
or download and install next to anything else that i've tried i keep getting the same error , the SD card is nearly entirely free with plenty of space soooooo
long story , made longer How can i adjust this , How can i maybe fool the o/s to think the SD card is the primary partition or something similar can i undo this? (not the root i know i can undo the root and or just start fresh from a hardreset or something
Any Input is appreciated , i am as the name so obviously suggests a new rooter not very experienced in android sw , though i was able to tweak around with iphone3s and jailbreak them which admittedly was rather fun.
Im only wanting this just so i stop getting that blasted insufficient storage error blasted google
this is technically a repost as i did post this in that said thread above but i wasnt sure if it was the right place for the inquiry

Hi! I saw your other post too. I can't answer your main question, but I can answer two of the others.
1. To have a thread or post of yours deleted, in a browser (not Tapatalk nor XDA app) choose the exclamation point on your post to report your own post to the moderator and then write them to ask that they delete it.
2. The other post in the one-click thread was slightly more appropriate since these are the LG G3 sections and at least that one is the one click method thread, but your main question has nothing to do with either so you should report this thread to have it deleted and create a thread in the Q&A section of the forum for your particular phone. The Link2SD thread might be another appropriate place, but only choose one place.
3. I know it wasn't intentional, but double posting is a definite no no. At minimum of noone responds to one post you should report your post to be deleted and then post the question somewhere else that's still appropriate. If your first post is a new thread, it's fine to reply (no quote) to your post by saying "Bump" in order for the forum to put the post back up to the top where people might notice it again. Bumping shouldn't be done before 48 hours.
Welcome to the forum anyway and I feel your pain, my first Android phone was more like a teaser Android with around 384 MB of ROM and no internal storage. Not politically correct and no offense meant to anyone but I refer to my first Android phone as the retarded little brother of the HTC Droid Incredible. It was the Droid Eris.
Good luck.

Sorry Guys if am asking this Question here....i have searched full XDA Forum for this ....got ans too but still have confusions.....
1st of all wanna know what is App2SD....Hope its the application to transfer all your application installation to SD card....
2nd i have tried several methods listed here in forum...but no result.....SD card is having full space and phone memory is just 50 MB left.....
Tried Defrost application and selected all installation to external media....(Hopefully this is the correct method...but didn't figured out for me yet....)
Tried to give EXT3 partition to SD of 512 MB...but here i don't know the full procedure and really confused how to go about.....
Tried for Froyo ROM's as i believe its having inbuilt capability to install all app to SD card....No result yet....
I requet all my frnds here to just giude me to the right path...i am sure i will do the rest ..... really confused with a lot of explanation given in forum....
One more small help needed...i need to have HTC Default dialer application as some of the ROM has removed it with some other application....

Someone please guide me........please
Instead of bumping your thread have you tried looking at the thread of the chef released rom for your phone as you might realise that others have same issue with the rom or not. I did a quick search of forums and i managed to find the answers within seconds.
We cant support your rom as we dont know what you are using / version and questions regarding that rom need to be posted in the correct forum thread

Sorry M8...But i am really confused with several ROM's and Methods listed here...
I will follow your instructions in future....Sorry Again....
Different roms work differently and you really need to try one, then ask about it in the chefs rom thread and if you dont like try another. Swapping roms and trying to use the same instructions on each may not work so you are only confusing yourself.

A2SD is indeed moving apps to the external memory. A lot of custom roms have it. It requires an EXT partition on your memorycard, an easy way to do that is to get rom manager from market

Thread moved to Q&A.
judging by your post, you have already rooted your phone
here's an example how to do it with Official Froyo HTC Sense ROM v1.0c, which has built in old A2SD. I think it should work
- backup apps and system data with Titanium Backup Donate
- copy sd card content to pc in disk drive mode (by doing this, you will also copy your backups)
- download rom, radio and put them in root folder of your sd card
- you need to have some sort of recovery (whether it's update.zip in root, or permanent recovery - it's your choice)
- say a little prayer
- enter hboot -> recovery
- wipe all alvailable options (it depends on your current settings): data, cache, davlik cache, ext
- flash radio, it will ask for you to reboot from recovery, do it, it will restart few times, don't interrupt process of instalation.
- flash rom
-after you finish it, don't reboot, instead partition sd card using standard options: swap 0, ext2 512, fat32 rest, sd: ext2 to ext3 (this will format and partition your sd card, you will loose it's content
- reboot your phone, it will last longer than usual
- copy your sd card content from pc back to sd
- install titanium backup donate and restore system data and apps, it should force apps you previously had installed to sd
- reboot phone to finish restore
- install quick system info and check if your A2SD storage is partialy filled with data
-you should have your current apps and settings with A2SD enabled
Finally did it today with ROM manager huh......
Thanking all for support...

[Q] Internal Memory

Can't find a thread for this on the forum.
Been exploring the phone memory using file manager app, and found the folder system/app which contains a lot of the system apk and odex files and is 106mb.
Is it safe to move this to the SD card? Folder shows a last modified date of 16/04/2011 which is 3 months before I bought the phone.
This would free up a huge chunk of the phone memory and provide more room for messages & contacts which is what I'm hoping to achieve, as well as space for apps which won't move to SD card.

if am not mistaken you need to be rooted for that...
Think you might be right on this one.
Tried moving one of the apks, and it copied rather than just moving it.
Also wouldn't let me delete.
I'm a bit of a noob (don't hate me), and not sure where to start with rooting, so a couple of questions (and apologies if they're really obvious).
1) I've read around a bit, and there seems to be a disagreement about whether rooting invalidates warranty? Is there a definitive answer?
2) If all I want to do is move stuff out of the phone memory, what is the easiest/safest way of rooting?
3) Does anyone know any way of making the files in the system folder not "read only"

Well far as i know - the answers to your questions would be in the following order :
1 - Well there might not be a definitive answer and that might depend on your providers policy etc -
2 - The safest way to move stuff is rooting and if you want to know more about rooting you can find multiple threads about that in the development section such as this one :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275
But you need to make sure your device is "S-OFF" and not "S-ON" -
3 - I wouldn't recommend messing about with the default settings of system files etc -
i wouldn't recommend rooting, you can use APP2SD softwares to move your installed applications to SD without rooting, unless you really know what are you doing
I've been on Android for about 2 years now. Just bought the Samsung GSII for myself and my girlfriend got the Wildfire S.
She's only installed maybe 7-8 apps (if that), most have since been moved to the SD card, but she's constantly receiving a message about a lack of internal memory.
Is there any way to move all her apps to the SD card, or another way to free up some space?
** I'd like to do all this without rooting her phone. I'm a complete novice when it comes to modifying phones - only just got the hang of using different launchers.
I'm afraid that in order to move unmovable apps to the SD card, you will have to root the device.
You need to have a phone that is s-off in order to root, no other option as far as I am aware.

How to solve "low on space" on Samsung Xcover

I have a rooted Samsung Xcover (GT-S5690). The phone memory is only about 150 MB which filled up during my first day of phone use. The phone includes a 8 GB SD card, however, and I've already moved all the allowed apps to it, yet I'm still helplessly out of space; I cannot even update my existing apps like dropbox, etc.
I've read that there's a hack to increase the 150 MB space to 750 MB (the extra space would obviously come from the SD card), but the specific advice I read was for HTC Incredible in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488351
So is that thread applicable to the Samsung Xcover, or is there another easier way to solve the "low on space" problem?
Thanks in advance.
Side note: The above thread suggested using Rom Manager to backup phone, but when I "Flash ClockworkMod" it says to confirm phone model, but my model is not available. (It lists Samsung Epic4G and Samsung GalaxyS i9000 as possible options). Any alternative?
anyone?
mods: please add a question mark to the thread title (I forgot and cannot edit the title now).
Here you have the solution to your problem:

I am using Link2SD four almost four months now and I can tell that all problems regarding small internal memory have been solved.
thanks for the guide, i will try it soon on my samsung xcover phone (running android 2.3.6).
i take it this will wipe all the apps i have installed so far. is there a way to backup/restore the apps so as to avoid reinstalling everything? (samsung kies only makes a backup of my contacts on this phone).
Use Titanium Backup Pro to save/restore your apps.

Link2SD is indeed a very useful app for low storage space, but be careful what apps you move to sd.
It's safe to move apps you installed, but avoid moving apps already installed on your phone when you bought it.
what did you use to root?
sorry it's not related but what did you use to root? because i searched for hours and ended up bricking my phone! nightmare. got it replaced from the shop. thanks

For future reference, It's customary and relevant to mention what rom/build you have when asking for help. Also titles should be descriptive/specific not braud/generic. For example, better titke would have been "SD card is write protected"
PS. If you had used search (like you're supposed to) and used the descriptive title as your keywords you would have found your help already exists.
