I would like to download Rescue Firmware because "Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue" message pops up
Unfortunately links on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32273406

Any other alternative links?
EDIT: As I have read with 4.4.2 firmware, bootloader is also upgraded and I cannot downgrade which means I have to find a 4.4.2 firmware which has 4 files and pit in order to restore my phone
Can someone help?

You can flash normal firmware via odin in your situation, if you have this message fw upgrade..... etc your phone is in download mode connect to pc and flash, prefer older odin, v3 1.87 is the best for this. Another way to restore your phone is with kies (if you don't know how there is a thread in forum search it for instructions) . There is not any rescue fw 4.4.2 only pit file you can find but is not necessary.

I think it is failing to flash. Check at odin at left side if the flash finished well, it must say succeeded 1fail 0 and after removed at 2 last lines. The normal flash time is about 5 minutes for N7100.

The same thing happens with the latest Germany 4.4.2 firmware.
I have noticed that my Bootloader has not been updated because I haven't seen anywhere saying anything about Knox in Download Mode
How can I update my bootloader?

Hey fellow sgh-m919v owners in Canada!
Need some help here!
I am trying to Flash my eastlink wireless sigh-m919v back to stock and uproot it but it keeps failing in different times depending on the Rom I'm flashing.
On the older firmware I downloaded from sammobile.com it almost finishes then gets to modem.bin and says fail(auth) with a big red fail sign. On the phone it says secure check fail:mdm
When I try the newest one it doesn't even want to start. Odin starts then fails right away stating. Fail at sbl2.Mbn and Secure check fail: sbl2 on the phone.
Note when I go into download mode it does state that my phone is a sghm919v, current binary custom, system status custom, csb-oem_config_lbs:0x38 or 0x30. Too small to tell.
Note. I'm able to install custom roms and recoveries fine but not stock roms.
What am I doing wrong? Can someone give me step by step instructions? I'm using a Partially installed stock Rom and want it to be fully installed.
Any help is appreciated
Are you sure you are using the correct Rom...???
There is always the possibility the OS (operating system) you are attempting to install is not the correct one, and thus producing a conflict, and also a negative out come.
Can you post your Model, Make and Carrier, possibly the weblink where you are getting you update from.
Just to get a second opinion, and rule out that you are indeed getting the right download. As each Carrier is hardware sensitive, as to the type of Android OS it supports...
Well im not 100% sure im using the right one but 98% sure I am using the right one.
My phones downlosd mode says its a sgh-m919v. Canadian model of t mobile m919
I got the roms from sammobile.com
I used the firmware ending in esk thinking that meant eastlink but yesterday I doenloaded the wind, mobilicity and videotron versions of samr ftimware to see if yheres any differrnce.
Have yet to try. Will try soon

It might be all possible that you just have a simple hardware issue.
Instead of trying the latest, can you humor the conversation by trying the first update on the SamMobile site...!!!
Anything but the last or latest, try to roll back as far as you can...!!!
modem.bin is the radio file. does your phone boot into android and work fine after failing at modem.bin or it does not boot.
You can also try different version of Odin say 3.04 or a different usb port or both.
edit
could also be that the firmware file is not fully downloaded.can you check the md5 on the file to be same as that from sammobile.

OK... so Odin flashing just doesn't work...
the latest based firmware MG1 stops almost instantly with an Sb2 error....
the oldest based firmware MDJ stops at modem install "secure check fail mdm"
I am however able to flash any custom recovery and from there install anything I want via CWM
Now... I was interested in flashing an alternative modem on my M919V (as my research leads me to understand that LTE is disabled on my device) I really wanted to just flash the M919 Modem...
so I searched and searched for a way to flash the modem to another one... all of reading said not to do it... it's too risky, ect.... BUT... some said it can be done and claimed success.... so I gave it a try...
Odin flash of ANY modem gives an error... same "secure check fail mdm" No CWM modem flash exists... I did find some other devices that had CWM modems to flash but flashing them gave a Baseband "unknown" IMEI "unknown"... so that was super scary... until I repacked the CWM modem zip with my device modem and I was back in business....
Long story short... you can't flash anything Via Odin in this phone really except a recovery... everything else pretty much fails which leads me to think either it was something to do with the partition scheme or the bootloader... I'm unsure as I really am not a developer just a daring competent xda rom addict...
IF you are on M919V and wish to flash modems (granted you will want to only flash a modem specific to M919V) examples would be the MG1 or MDJ... I have found a method that works everytime... you will need to have root via CF-ROOT or a custom rom which has root (that you flashed via CMW after to odin flashed a recovery)
here is the link to the instructions...
http://www.alliance-rom.com/communi...-non-hlos-bin-temporary-flashing-method.8676/
I hope this will shed some more light on our device... I really just wish I could convert my device fully to a M919 as this device (M919V) seems to have some weird issues... OR... better yet... a 9505G :highfive:

I still want to see if it is not a software issue by trying or playing around with OFFICIAL firmware, before I assume it is just faulty hardware refusing to corporate with your attempts to restore your Canadian Phone.
Again, munchy_cool, Thank you...!!!
Also have you called Samsung, and explained to them and I quote "That your phone failed during an OS update, and you tried to roll back using a download file from SamMobile, and even then you have experienced no success...!!!", just to see if they have on record of the same issues...???

means the modem is invalid for this phone, as mentioned a few posts above there are multiple firmwares for your s4 , you need to know which carrier your s4 is ..there might be checks in the firmware to stop it from being flashed onto another carriers phone even if model number is same.

Thus the concern of a hardware conflict/issue with being successful in your flash using Odin.
Android devices are not all the same, they change depending on what country you are in especially if you are using a STOCK ROM. Every country has a different setup requirement when it comes to establishing a valid connection, so thus the hardware/software conflict.

Besides that I cannot tell which is yours (meaning Firmware - SamMobile) your post suggest EastLink...??? Is this East Canada...? In East Canada what Carriers to they provide you...?, and what Model# is your phone...?
Maybe we can help to narrow down your Firmware you need...???
If you can also provide your OS - BASEBAND version, under Settings - More - About - Baseband Version.
You should be able to get this from a Custom Rom as well...!

My baseband has been flashed as I described in my earlier post... M919VVLUAMDJ.... My Carrier is unknown as I bought this phone unlocked for cheap on kijiji... but the guy said he worked for samsung and it was a spare... The Op has the EXACT same model number and the EXACT same issue as me... he also has tried flashing literally EVERY firmware available on Sammobile website...

You need to use Odin v9 and the file is about 2.1 GB. Do a google search for the stock firmware and download that (sometimes it comes with Odin automatically) then hit the AP option and find your file.

Any suggestions on what I can do to solve this soft brick type of issue? I was on KitKat btw.
You have to flash a KitKat stock ROM. Can't flash earlier version like MDL.

If flashing NB4 firmware won't work, I'm afraid something may have been fried and won't be fixable by firmware flash even if it does turn on and go into download mode

i cant do it because my phone doesnt go into recovery, by any chance, do you know how to flash a rom through odin?
Isn't using ODIN what you posted in the first post in this thread?
If you can't get into download mode, you may have a deeper problem. Since you couldn't get into "recovery" I'm guessing one of your buttons isn't working.
If you do get it to download mode, I recommend Odin 3.07 or 3.09 (I use 3.09).

yeah I use odin, but idk how to flash a ROM through it i use 1.85
I'm on my phone at work without easy access to links, but if you Google "flash phone ROM with Odin" you will get many walkthroughs.
You were probably almost there with what you did in your first post. However you used an older version of the stock firmware than was on your phone so it failed. Get the KitKat firmware (NB4) and do what you originally tried.
I also recommend using at least Odin 3.07 though I know 3.09 works because I use it.
Basically boot phone to download mode, attach USB cable, let it recognize phone, open Odin, select your proper stock firmware in I think the second of the four places where you can specify the file, press start. Reboot when done.

You flash firmware in Odin, not ROMs.. Don't know if you guys are getting mixed up in this.. All you do is boot to download mode, connect to PC, open Odin, go to PDA, select your firmware and click start

Hello!
First, I apologize for not knowing english, I'm Brazilian.
and also because I do not know if here is the right place to post.
I have a problem, need help very much!
I'll try to explain perfectly.
I had installed TWRP;
and the rom SlimWiz SL1.
I thought about changing rom, then
I was trying to install DN3_v5.5.
I selected the TWRP, I selected to wipe cache, dalvik cache, system and data,
tried installing DN3, but do not know for what reason, did not install the file,
said that there were installers but not charged anything on the phone,
I could not add another rom to install, then hung up.
Now I can not install anything because I have no access recover, TWRP
I can only access the download mode.
When I try to install the odin the following error appears:

This does not happen unless you are careless with the given processes. I have flashed custom ROM for over 30 times and have never faced a problem.
Anyway, flash pit file for your device via ODIN.
Then install stock ROM via ODIN.
If pit file flashing fails, report back with error.

If you can go to download mode at all, means your phone is soft bricked. Pit file should always work...no reason not to.
I guess you have a broken cable that is causing problems.
Does your phone charge when its off...showing green battery logo?
Also, which ODIN version you are using?
Also, tell me which firmware you are using to flash via ODIN?
Also, before brick was your phone running 4.1.2 or 4.3 or 4.4.2?

If this does not work. Try to flash 4.4.2 Stock ROM. Of that too fails, you have to get it repaired.

Hi I know how irritating soft brick is, I have done it twice and both times I got my phone back using KIES by Samsung.
You can do initialization of the Firmware using an option under tools in KIES, it will ask for ur model number and Serial number. It will install Stock ROM back on your phone with Stock Recovery, just follow the on screen instructions!!
I have done it twice and I think it should work for you too!!.
Let us know if you find another solution!!

I have done it twice so I think it shouldn't be a problem but let me guide you through it:
Install KIES and follow steps below
Step 1 : Click on Tools > Firmware Upgrade & Initialisation
Step 2: Enter Device information > Model Name and click OK.
Step 3: Enter Device's Serial Number (its in the battery compartment, you need to remove battery and note down the S/N)
Step 4 : Read the information and click OK
Step 5 : It will show you the available firmware available and ask to confirm
Step 6 : It will download components
Step 7 : Agree to terms and conditions and you are good to go!

I'm having the exact same issue. Have N910V (not the F) on 5.0.1. I tried to flash 5.1.1 (N910VVRU2BPA1_StockRestore.tar.md5) and got the same error message. It went all the way through the file and failed at the very end. I then tried to flash 5.0.1 stock recovery (N910VVRU2BOG5_StockRestore.tar.md5) and got the same error, so now I'm soft bricked. I'm using Odin 3.10.7.

OK, well depending which exact android version you're on I would go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937 and figure out which one you need to update. I'm not sure if you could just flash the full firmware of N910VVRU2BPA1 or if you have to work your way up. You might want to ask hsbadr or someone from that thread. If your phone still boots up good though you'll be O.K. Wish I could help more. Good luck.
I should be able to flash the recovery but it would of course mean nuking all my data, but that was never an issue and it's too late now. I'm already soft bricked.

Yup, that's still fine. I can probably get into recovery too but I didn't try it(was rushing out the door).
One thing I didn't do and I'm wondering if I should have was boot into recovery and delete all the caches.

Mine is just a regular retail Verizon N910V. I was trying to root it with the latest root method but KingRoot refused to show anything but the keyhole graphic when I ran it which others have said means that the phone/firmware combo isn't supported. Since everyone was rooting starting with 5.1.1, figured I should just retail update to that first which is how I got started on this mess.

One thing I didn't do and I'm wondering if I should have was boot into recovery and delete all the caches.

Well if it was me I would just try and odin the full firmware of BPA1. If that doesn't work, I would work my way up. If you're on BOG5 I would odin the ota update from BOG5 to BOK3. Then after that Odin the ota update from BOK3 to BPA1. After that you could start working on rooting and unlocking your bootloader.

OK I'll try that. I hadn't thought about doing that after the first failed attempt because I figured I blew everything away with the stock recovery flash.

Sorry can't help you. The information I gave you was wrong, I thought since the forum you were in that you had a usa verizon phone. You'll have to do more searching. If I find anything I'll get back to you.
When I get home tonight, I'll try the full firmware and see if that works. Can I tell from the bootloader page or some place what my actual baseband was? It looks like there were 3 5.0.1 versions and now I'm not sure which one I had. BTW, mine's the Verizon version
Go into settings then about device. What is your baseband version?

Can't boot so I can't get to settings. I can for sure get into download mode and I'll bet I can also get into recovery mode.

Oh. Well since your phone is the international version, don't flash what i recommended earlier. Sorry, thought you were also on the same phone as mine. You need different firmware. I suggest looking more on xda. Sorry i couldn't help. Good luck to you though

Mine is not the international version. It's an N910V Verizon retail non developer mode. The other guy is the one with the N910F.
