I've the same problem with you. Have you solve it?
Thanks in advance
I have a dropbox account and the app on my phone. I also have a mac (just for information's sake) and i want to STREAM not download movies onto my phone from dropbox. If anyone knows how to do this please speak up and be very specific. Try to explain the process as easy as possible. Thanks and im sure other will thank me too if this thread becomes deleted.
I don't think it's possible, but I did find this thread:

If you'd like I know of a good site that has TV shows, movies, stand-up all that you can stream to your phone for free let me know and shoot me a PM and I'll share the link.
put it in your 'public' folder and send the .mov link to your phone.
youve tried this?
I've done some googling but i haven't managed to come up with an answer to this either way...
Me and my friend both have the galaxy nexus and we tried to beam a picture but it wouldn't work.
After some research i've found that it isn't possible because of the gallery in the rom.
does anyone know if there are plans to change this so that pictures can be exchanged through beam?
It's not because of the gallery apk. It's because NFC has a very slow transfer rate. It would take a long time to send a picture.
Things that I have had success beaming are: market app links, browser links, youtube videos.
Yeah, you can really only send links and all, not actual content stored on you phone as far as i know. because it takes too long, and nfc may not even be capable of doing it. however, when you beam a youtube video, app, or website or something, you are basically sending the link to the other phone and then the other phone connects to that link through whatever app it uses like the Browser, Youtube app, or Market etc. to transfer actual content like photos stored in your phone, its probably best to use bluetooth or just email it or something.
i may be wrong though

Just upload your photo to drop box and beam the link, easiest way to do it.
Note: you can beam contact stored on phone, not just links.
Yeah we managed to beam apps which opened up my market... websites... youtube links and a contact from his phonebook to mine.
Guess we will have to stick to the good old bluetooth for pictures.
Still a very nice feature to play about with.
File Expert will speed up that bt transfer with an nfc tap.
And ShareNFC will add the ability to transfer files via NFC in an upcoming update.
Hi, all. I'm having a weird problem.
While images are saved to the SD card using the stock camera app, videos will not. I checked both internal and external SD cards using ES explorer in the DCIM folder and the videos doesn't exist. The camera app will show that the video is being recorded but after hitting stop, the video isn't there. I switched the option to save to internal storage and it works, switch back to external SD card and no go. I repeat, photos will save to SD, but not videos, so it doesn't look like a permissions problem.
I have a HTC One M8 with Lineage OS version 14.1-20170928-NIGHTLY, but this problem existed also in previous versions (can't tell since when exactly). This happens also to this guy, so it's not a device-specific problem.
Thank you for your answers.

Your best bet is to post this question within the following Official LineageOS thread for your device.
Since you didn't specify if you had the Single or Dual SIM device, i provided both the thread links.

Sounds like you guys have quite high end devices. Can it be, the data rate is to high for your SD cards? My low end moto e has may be lower video resolution. No problem in recording to SD.
I took a bunch of photos this morning for work.
Here is a screencap of the DCIM->Camera directory on my Pixel 2 XL. The thumbnails folder in this location is empty, and the .inflight folder (which I've never seen on an android device before) has a .nomedia placeholder file in it.

Some of these are normal "IMG" shot, and some of these are obviously "MVIMG" shots which I believe are supposed to be the motion type. As you'll notice, the size of some of these images are ridiculous (upwards of 9 megs in some cases).
Also strange, I have three different video files (.mp4) that are reporting 0 byte sizes. Since I did not record any video this morning, I assume these have to be related to the motion photo feature of the phone but I'm not clear on how any of this works. If I was to pull these off my phone for a storage, how I do I tell which part is "motion" and which part is just images? Will the motion part be kept if I move the mp4s too, or do I lose that feature if I don't back up the empty mp4 files? I honestly don't like the idea of backing up 9 megabyte photos so I may just turn this functionality off in the future.
tl;dr: How does this work and how can I pull it off the phone and keep the functionality?
Does anyone know how to keep the functionality of these files and view the motion on a windows 10 PC stored locally.
I can see them if I upload to google photos and view in chrome. But I want to just store locally on NAS and not use internet.
