[Q] how can they know if i put sim card to phone ? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello everyone.
i bought a g3(its been 3 days) and it probably has jti(or jdi) screen. its yellowish and i dont like it.
so i wanna refund and get my money back. but in my country (turkey) we have a law that says "if you wanna refund and get your money back. you shouldnt put sim cards to phone or connect it to a wi-fi)
so obiviously i put my sim card to phone and connect to my wi-fi.
and now i wanna give it back and get my refund.
my question is : i do a factory reset.
is there any way for them to know if i put my sim to phone or connect to wi-fi ?
if yes :
what should i do ? should i delete cache data or what ?(also if you tell me how to i would be so happy)
thanks for answers.

That has got to be one of the stupidest laws I've ever heard! (And it's illegal to run out of gas in my city let alone own a giraffe, even though I live in the US and don't have giraffes.)
I want to say no, but I'd bet that they have something to detect it... But a factory reset would remove the WiFi, but I don't know about SIM...
I only replied because I don't know how many people on here are from Turkey and I wanted to point out my opinion.

Who says that you shouldn't put a simcard for being refund? There is nothing such that. Only way to know that imei-phone number match with BTK. But Whatever reason you could make refund.
Öyle birşey yok ya. Sadece BTK tarafında yapılan imei-telefon numarası eşleşmesi ile bilebilirler sim taktığını. O zaman bile Tüketici kanununa göre belirlenen süre içinde iade edebilirsin.

nah they wont say anything...just be sure if u ever return the phone to flash back to the original rom, but as far as all that goes ur fine.
She was trying to sell you up, remember the $5.99 plan isn't really for doing everything people on here have made it capable of doing.
i gotta figure out how to get this 5.99 plan to work....cause that would be amazing.
Thanks now i am more quiet .

No Service (on Orange stock)

I have just got a phone from eBay, and after a while it comes up with 'no service'. I can use the SIM ok in my nokia, and have also tried with someone else's SIM in the TP2 with the same result 'no service'.
If I hard reset (back to stock Orange) the signal works well for a while (a few hours to a couple of days) before coming up with 'no service'.
It looks like original ROM (with SPL) and radio.
Has anyone else had any similar problems? Is this a hardware issue? I don't really want to flash another ROM/radio if not known solution as I want to give it back to seller and get my money back.
Anybody help or had experience of this?
Might be stolen ?
Have you rung orange to see if they've blocked it by any chance ?
Agreed, check the IMEI number with Orange, chances are it's been blocked for some reason.
Thanks, that was exactly the problem. Phone has been blocked. Orange (surprisingly) have unblocked it and told me not to buy phones from eBay.

[REF] Unlocking I9000 without losing warranty

Hi Guys,
Just bought my Galaxy S from a carrier in Portugal ( TMN ) and it is SIM locked.
Since there is no way to unlock it yet without paying some money to the carrier or to some specific unlock websites, i´ve tried to use one SIM unlock card that i had since my nokia times.
without this card i´m able to connect other carrier SIM ( vodafone) but after the card pin i´m asked to put the unlock key.
Then i tried with the Sim unlock card with the same card, and guess what... Works perfectly, no unlock key and vodadone card rocking hard on my Galaxy...
Here is the link for one of those on ebay... It costs 1$ lololol.

Hope it helps a lot of you that want to be free to chose the carrier that suits you better.
Cheers
This should be stickied
As a fellow TMN client, this is marvelous
i read somewhere else that someone had problems with this, sending every other call directly to his voicemail, so maybe there also could be some downsides to this. did you have enough time with that thing to test it well?
IMO i just want the thing unlocked. I could care less about the warrenty. I am always changing phones anyways.

I had it for more then a year on my nokia( stuck on tmn aswell) and with a vodafone card. Always worked flawless... But you can always test it. 2 bucks with delivery is not that expensive..
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Hi kinder__bueno,

imei blocked in UK - now what?

So O2 sent my mobile to the wrong address some 2 weeks back. i complained and so on.. 2 days later some chap comes around and says i got this package delivered to me... i open and find my phone!
Now o2 are sending me a new one when they get stock, and have blocked this one, which is not good.
I presume they locked via imei and im stuffed ?
Either:
(a) Contact O2 to tell them it's turned up to see if they can unblock it, or
(b) Wait for your new phone to turn up.
Either way I wouldn't say you're "stuffed"

yeah i know what you mean, i guess its better to have the spare parts in that sense, but getting it unblocked would be great as the wife could have it
i presume that's not easy or legal to do?
Sell it on ebay outside your country. it will not be blocked there.
jokes apart. you can always return the phone back to O2

Question Verizon sim unlocked help

hello friends, my friend sent me a gift from google pixel 6 pro from america, but the phone is sim locked, i can't use it because i live in turkey. Is there any way to open it? When I called Verizon they said they wouldn't unlock it because I didn't verbally activate Verizon. sorry for not explaining
I don't know english so i use google translate
no need to unlock phone sim
Hi Vefa_18,
Welcome to XDA. Verizon phones are SIM unlocked once they are paid for. It's possible that they require being activated on Verizon first too - although I don't know for sure if that is true. There is no other way other than that to get the phone SIM unlocked.
My payment has been completed, but because I did not activate the phone on Verizon, the phone cannot be unlocked and I cannot access this service in Turkey. I cannot use the phone.
When I called Verizon, they said that if I activate the phone on the Verizon network, the lock will be lifted. Verizon does not provide service in Turkey, I cannot join this network, I need to find another solution. To use the device, I cannot send the device back due to customs problem.
Verizon told me that if someone activates it over the line without sending the device to the USA, it can unlock, is there anyone who can help me with this?

I don't use Verizon, so I can't. As to anyone else, I doubt if anyone on Verizon will want to activate a device that they don't own or even have access to on their account. Unless things have changed, Verizon charges to activate a device.
Also, it would be better if you would Edit your posts instead of making multiple posts in a row. You can click the Edit button at any time and add more information when necessary.
I agree to pay the fee but Verizon is not helping me in any way because of this I need a sim unlock outside Verizon
