[Q] Would you like an Ipega pg-9037 review? - General Accessories

Hi friends, I bought a new ipega pg-9037 gamepad to replace my old, good but not perfect pg-9017. This is the new gamepad from ipega almost identical to xbox one gamepad. I can tell you it s a really good one,are you interested in a review ?(I even disassembled it too clear if side triggers are analogue or not). Looking for one review before I could buy it ,I couldn t find anyone , and so I had to base my quality evaluation on the ipega pg-9021. Let me know

Hey man, I'm looking at getting this controller for my Shield Android TV. How has it held up in the last couple of months? Do you think it is worth it? Looks pretty nice to me but I can't find any English Reviews of it.
I really wanna know what the input lag is like? Alot of bluetooth controllers are plagued with input lag
Also found this: http://aud.dx.com/product/ipega-pg-...-for-ios-android-black-961384084#.VXZq6c-qr2Y
Not sure what it means by 2.4GHz wireless instead of Bluetooth? Wifi direct maybe? Have you used the 9038?

I only tried ipega 9017 and 9037. They are great, but 9037 is better because of the design identical to the best controller ever created (the Xbox one controller). The analogue sticks are better than the ones found in 9017(I hate anolugue sticks as the ones on PSP),and with the phone mounted you can play with no problems for many hours instead on 9017 that destroy your hands . I can t tell you so much about the lag, I can tell you that on my nexus 5 works really well, I play PSP emulator with burnout revenge, Dreamcast emulator with virtual striker, and n64 emulator with conker plus many other games or retro games like Cadillac and dinosaurs. For virtual striker I can tell you I find no difference from my Dreamcast version and I played both for many hours apart for some framedrops on the emulator. Conker bad fur day for n64 on nexus 5 + ipega feels great and I want to end the story on android because I can play it very well ( apart for some problems with 2or 3 levels on android emulator that have graphic glitches where you have to change the emulating core) I never played it on n64 but I almost finished the Xbox version and the game experience is the same. I don t know the Bluetooth version of the gamepad but nexus 5 has 4.0 and the distance is inexistent and I can see no lag. Battery in 9017 and 9037 last more than the nexus 5 battery, every time I charged the two controllers battery was half, after almost 4 hours of play . I bought 9037 because of the design knowing it s the same as Xbox one, and due to the good experience with 9017 apart from the feeling in hands. I read many reviews of other brands gamepad, but maybe ipega s ones are the best

hello an information because I would buy , but would like to know if the dpad and suitable for play you fighting game retrogaming , to follow the special moves . My prerogative thanks

iPega PG-9037 review
I bought this bluetooth controller recently. It has very good design, replica of xbox360 controller. I feels good in the hand, its very light. It has a telescopic stand to mount your phone (up to 6 inches). I comes with a manual and a micro usb cable for charging. I tested the controller using Zenfone 5 and it fits perfectly into the telescopic stand. No need to install apk app or root, just open your phone's bluetooth, then turn on the controller by pressing HOME + X, then pair both device. I haven't tested it on android games but it works perfectly on emulators like ppsspp and DraStic DS, you need some minor key binding though. Battery last twice vs your phone so don't worry about it. You can charge it using your standard USB charger 5V 1A or plug it on your PC.
I also tested this iPega PG-9037 on PC games. No driver needed, just pair it. I used x360ce for mapping the bluetooth controller like a xbox360 controller. It works perfectly. Use bluetooth dongle if your PC doesn't have a built-in bluetooth device.
I haven't tested this controller on IOS but other said that some games wouldn't work.
All in all I recommend this controller for both android and PC gaming. You wont regret.
I hope my quick review helps.

Somebody Help Me How To Connect This Ipega To Pc

I recently bought one.
Wired to the pc, its detected as an xbox 360 controller.
Connected with BT to mi S7, works perfect.
Didn't tried x360ce yet...
The only 2 hickups that i found are:
- The manual state that the R2/L2 are analog triggers with some Hall device detector attached... Guess what? It's a lie!!! There is NO hall device detector attached to it. I dissasembly my controller to find out why it wasn't working....
- The repairing method needs to reset the gamepad... and the reset button needs a pin to push it... Unnecesary complicated...
As a side note, it includes 2 rumble motors (with no connection or even pinouts) for the weight feeling.

Can you please confirm that the gamepad can be connected to the pc with the USB cable and it will be detected and can be used as a wired controller without bluetooth?

Yes, connected to the pc by wire works perfect... Of course, the R2/L2 analog triggers are only buttons, but besides of that, everything is perfect...

Bluetooth games controller for TP2?

I've recently purchased the excellent SmartGear and what with the Touch Pro 2's TV out would like to have myself a little retro action by playing on MegaDrive classics on my TV.
However, this would mean holding the phone, and cable, while playing, which isn't as much fun.
Does anyone know if any bluetooth games controllers work? I've looked and PS3 and Wii controllers don't seem to, but can anyone recommend one at all, or know if the ENR one works http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/review/bt-gamepad-en.shtml
I know that the Broadcomm stack is acausing problems but hope it's not going to ruin this plan.
Thanks

Bluetooth controller

Hey,
I'm looking for a Bluetooth/Wireless controller to play and emulate games on my 10.1v.
What's the best solution for now ? PS3, Wii, other ?
I want to be able to play without a wire and with a tool that is frequently updated (for better support). If it's not the right time (maybe some controllers have been announced), I'll wait as well...
Thanks !
I hear good things about phonejoy (http://www.phonejoy.net/product-description.html), however I haven't taken the plunge yet. Seems kind of expensive (after shipping) just for a bluetooth controller.
I did install the xbox usb module a while back and plugged in my xbox controller and that worked pretty good. My only gripe is having to plug in the usb adapter and the huge cord. So I am in the same boat as you. Still looking for the perfect bluetooth controller.
I've got XBOX controller but as you say...the wire is killing it for me. That plus that we have to buy that crappy USB adapator. Don't even know how does the Tab still stand when that port is connected.
What about the wii controller ? Any feedback ?
I use a PS3 wireless controller, works pretty well. You will have to "enable" the driver manually to connect the controller then you can launch your favorite emulator. You can find the driver from mkt place, but you also need to install the software on your PC to re-write the bluetooth mac address. all the buttons, joystick, directional pads, can be assigned to whatever key u want...
google "motioninjoy" for more info on the driver (sorry system wont let me post outside links...)
Thanks.
How would you describe it in terms of responsiveness/ease of use/app support ?
After some more digging, I think this solution works best :
http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/09/sixaxis-controller-android-app-makes-firing-off-hadoukens-easy-a/
There are a couple of vids on youtube demonstrating it, but it will basically take a dualshock bluetooth playstation controller ($20) and work wirelessly.
I haven't tested it out since I don't own the controller. I was about to buy one, when I realized that I spend most of my time playing tower or racing games designed for the tablet, which would not make use of a gamepad.
Thanks a lot. I'd be interested to know where you can get a $20 one too...
I've been using Sixaxis for a while now. It works great with no noticeable lag. I mostly use it for all the emulators. Fortunately I already had a PS3 so I didn't have to buy a new controller.

Any advantage and how to hook up Android mini PC to Note 2?

I will be getting Android mini-PC (Android TV) stick, waiting for this one: http://dx.com/p/cozyswan-mk809-ii-a...b-ram-8gb-rom-wi-fi-tf-bluetooth-black-185736 . The purpose was to see how I can convert my older TV into multimedia station for internet and streaming from laptop, etc.. While I'm waiting, I started to think if there are any advantages of connecting it to Note 2? I don't know much about these android-on-a-stick devices to even think how it could be used. I assume it will be a host, so if I connect Note 2 with usb cable (non-OTG) it will be accepted as peripheral device so I can stream pictures, movies, etc. through android-on-a-stick on tv? That does sound kind of redundant since I can probably do the same thing from a stick itself, but I'm also thinking even with Android 4.1 the stick will not have access to Play store and I'm not sure if I will be able to root it.
I just don't know what to expect. I know it should work connecting directly to tv hdmi port (of my cable box hdmi port?), but I want to come up with something cool where I can connect Note 2 to is as well. Probably on the go I can tether this stick to my Note 2 4G connection, and have it as stand-alone mini PC. But if I want to connect it to Note 2 (as a display), would it work if I get HDMI (female) to micro-usb cable?
Anyway, any ideas or thoughts - let me know, even if you think its a stupid idea to begin with. Either way, once I have it and play around with it, I will do some kind of a write up with pictures

Hello, if you're planning on buying an android stick, why invest in a dual core one when the quad core sticks are out, check the link below
http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Tron...188-2G-DDR3-Wifi-Bluetooth-TV-BOX-314524.html
i am not sure about new ways to connect it to the Note 2, but the traditional ways is to puch pictures/videos/music via DLNA
it would be interesting to know whether you can mirror the Note 2 screen to the android stick similar to apple TV
The CozySwan is basically an android device. Think of it like a tablet without a screen. So basically you'll just need to attach it to your tv (via hdmi) and you're ready to go (Well, it might need a mouse or keyboard to operate it). So attaching it to the Note 2 would be redundant. You can use the Note 2 just like the CozySwan. Attach it to your tv (via hdmi) and use either a bluetooth mouse or keyboard. If you get the smart dock then there are more possibilities.
Check out this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nh2NSLgaII&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I like this video of the smart dock as it explains a lot of what it can do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hy3wETf5o0
as well as this video of the OTG, MHL, and other accessories: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46IiRyigUH0
Thanks guys! I guess no other special trick with that stick other than what I have already expected. In theory this $48 android stick can replace functionality of $99 smart dock and add more stuff to it (wireless kbd/mouse instead of bt), etc. I guess will play around with it once I get it.
I didnt even check to see who was the op.... you dabble in these things so maybe you can show us whats up when you get it...
Review of MK809-II Android TV with lots of pics!!!
Since I already started this topic and didn't know where it will take me, I wanted to post an update since I actually got that Android TV dongle and found it to be pretty cool. Maybe I will try to figure out how to make it work with Note 2, because for $48 it's cheaper then Samsung multimedia dock and offers way too many other options
So, this is a Review of MR809-II Android TV dongle: http://dx.com/p/cozyswan-mk809-ii-a...b-ram-8gb-rom-wi-fi-tf-bluetooth-black-185736
After reviewing numerous accessories for N2/N7/S4, I'm switching my gears and decided to do a project of converting my tv into "smart tv". If you think about, that's what the whole Google TV is about - taking your regular old TV and bringing it up to a new level with an enhanced option of Android and the same benefits you get from your Smart phone or tablet. I didn't want to buy any old gen stuff with overheating problems and those old AC adapters with round connector, or something that will cripple my use by not allowing access to Google Play, etc.
The unit I received came packaged very nicely with a lot of bonus connections. The main Android dongle measures about 110mm x 40mm x 10mm and weights about 34g. In addition to that, you get HDMI extension cable just in case if you don't have easy access to plug the stick into the back/side of your TV. It also came with OTG adapter with micro-usb to full USB connection which can turn the spare micro-usb port on the stick into another "host" to allow connection of other peripheral devices without a need for a hub. And you also get a quality AC adapter with a full 2A output to use usb to micro-usb cable to power up the device. I noticed older generation device were using round plug wall adapter which always a drag to carry around. This device, you can use ANY of your smart phone ac charging adapters, as long as it 2A (like the one which came with Note 2).
Now, about the spec of the device. This one uses RK3066 CPU, dual core Cortex-A9 with clock speed up to 1.6GHz; 1GB of DDR3 memory, and 8GB of internal memory which can be expanded further with micro-sd card (from a built in slot). The built quality seems to be decent, not flimsy at all; it looks like a big usb stick with a cap over HDMI port. Also, I noticed the back has vents for additional cooling. While using it, I haven't noticed too much overheating. The device supports WiFi and Bluetooth, and I had no issues with it's connections. I have my router on the first floor while I was testing it with a tv in our bedroom on the second floor, pretty far away. For interface, I was using Anker mini keyboard (candy bar type of BT keyboard with a touch pad). At first to initialize it I had wired mouse plugged into USB host port (no need for OTG adapter, goes right into full size USB port labeled "host" on the stick) to pair up with BT device. Once I did it the first time, afterwards mouse was unplugged and I was using mini BT keyboard to control it.
The stick came preloaded with Android 4.1.1 and full access to Google Play!!! I was very pleased with that since I know a lot of cheap tablets don't have access to Google Play and you have to side load your apps. Not with this device. I signed in with my Google account, and was able to get to Play right away. Also, with its file manager, I was able to connect to other devices shared on my wifi, such as network hard drive. I have seen some people complaining about wifi connection with their MK809-II, but let me reassure you the one I got worked perfectly. It also supports every possible audio, video, music, and picture format under the sun.
Overall, setup was very easy where within minutes I was running full tablet interface on my TV. This is my first Android TV experience and I was very pleased with the results.

Just out of curiosity.. Do you think the App TabletRemote will work with this? It'll be cool to use your phone as the remote. I haven't tried the app myself so I don't even know how it works.

Tmart mini HDMI 2 AV converter
I decided to take my setup one step further to see how I can convert my dinosaur TV into smart TV. I still have to try out that app to use Note 2 as a tablet remote controller, but in this review I would like to talk about taking my previous setup of Android on a stick and turning an old tube tv into a smart tv with a help of this little gadget: http://www.tmart.com/MINI-HDMI-to-AV-CVBS-to-RCA-Converter_p163569.html
It's hard to believe TVs without HDMI input ever existed lol!!! But if you have one in your house which has lasted your for 10+ years and still working great, you are stuck with AV inputs as the only mean of connecting any peripheral devices. So if you got yourself a shiny new smart phone with HDMI dock or have Android-on-a-stick device to turn your tv into a big screen tablet - there is NOTHING you can do without converting HDMI into Analog audio/video. This kind of converter box becoming extinct, just like all those TVs, so its really hard to find one for a reasonable price. The one I got is the cheapest I found for about $40 shipped in US or internationally from Tmart.com. If you are in US, make sure to select "us warehouse" shipping from location, that one ships from NJ. Otherwise, you gonna end up waiting for awhile if it ships from HK.
I was a little nervous with this one because I saw an output with a typical red/white audio and yellow for video but video said "CVBS". But it worked flawlessly. First of all, it's a tiny little box I weighted to be 40g (1.4 oz) and about 60mm x 55mm x 20mm. You get full size HDMI input, AV RCA connector output, and PAL/NTSC switch for your video signal (so you are covered for both US and EU), and mini-usb input for power. It comes with mini-usb to USB cable in case if you don't have one considering everything switched to micro-usb, and also instruction booklet. As you can see, plugged in my Android stick, hook up wires going to TV, switched to NTSC and thats ALL! You DO NOT even need to power it up with external cable!!!!!!! I can only guess it gets its power from HDMI pins of Android stick since those are powered up. Of course, we are talking about HD widescreen output intended for a tablet going to 4:3 ancient tv so the image is squeezed on the sides. But it has nothing to do with a conversion, but rather with different "display resolution".
I know in this day'n'age of HD TVs it's hard to believe there is TV without HDMI input. But if you still have an old TV without HDMI input and don't want to throw it away, you can breath in a new life for $40 Remember, you can just plugin your Note 2 or any other smart phone with usb to hdmi adapter or from your multimedia cradle.
Here are the pics:
Those boxes are handy, especially connecting an older projector into a ps3. How is the performance of the stick? Give it a few benchmark runs. Thinking about getting one of these myself.

Which benchmark app do you want me to run?
Yes, the box definitely comes handy. I seen also another one, I believe on Tmart.com as well where you convert AV back to HDMI. This way you can connect old WII console to a new tv. I was very pleased that no external power was required to this box, and it stayed cool (no overheating).
Still need to get around to try using Note 2 as a remote tablet controller. That would be ultimate!!!
3d mark and antutu would be appreciated.

Been using the Minix G4 version of what you bought. Its been the best thing for my smart(less) plasma since hooking it up! Rooted and running a custom jellybean rom and havnt looked back since!
I credit Sony PS3 DRM for forcing me to put an Android box on my plasma. I have never been happier since. Thanks Sony!
As for using the Note as a remote, grab yourelf a copy of Droidmote - both (client and server).
I looked Droidmore app and it seems that Client side app is free while Server side app is paid. Not a problem, but Server side requires a root which I wasn't planning to do. So, I went to TabletRemote and it DID the trick!!!! It took a bit to configure. Need to install the same app on your Note 2 and Android stick connected to tv. Both have to be on wifi. Then, in Connection need to make Android stick to be Discoverable while on Note 2 scan for devices. Once they will auto-discover each other and display a pop-up with a matching code - click on pair up and you are done. The app on the phone is arranged as a remote in portrait or a game-pad controller in landscape. As a remote you have 4-direction arrow control with Enter - this will enable you to step through icons, folders, screens on a system hosted by Android stick. You also get menu, return, and home buttons, as well as search and keyboard (for typing) buttons. Plus you get full multimedia control with play/pause, forward, back, and volume control.
Very impressive and it's free!
That's good to know. Thanks for updating.
I have the latest quad core stick and these things are great. Vectron have you rooted or updated your firmware to 4.2?
Not sure about vectrons model but apparently these sticks supports phone mirroring now if you are running the latest firmware on your phone. All the sticks mk##, QC## are the same.
To anyone who wants the official remote app you can find it here:

Firmware upgrades and root can be found here:

And if you are interested in an air mouse/keyboard this one works great. I must say this remote works much better than my lg and Samsung remote which came with my smart TV.

Hey I just bought this naughty little gadget and very excited to use it. Quick question though, will I need to purchase a wireless/wired mouse to set it up or..? I wanted to install droidmote and use my Note 2 as a wireless mouse, but then I realized that I will need something to navigate to playstore and install DM app. I just never had to use Android Tv's so pardon me folks.

Review of MOGA Pro wireless game controller w/lots of pics!!!

This is a review of MOGA Pro wireless game controller: http://www.mogaanywhere.com/about-moga/moga-pro-controller/
Let me start with a disclaimer: "I'm not a big fan of video games. Period." A short while ago after reviewing a pair of wireless headphones someone asked me about delay in sound through bluetooth conection when you pull a trigger, and suggested to try Dead Trigger as a test game. I was very impressed with a graphics of that game on Note 2, but got frustrated very fast with on-screen controls. Playing Solitaire on touch screen is one thing, but when you want to play and to experience the excitement of a real game on a smart phone of any size, or a tablet, or either of those connected to your big screen tv - the best choice is narrowed down to MOGA Pro.
Before jumping into the review, I wanted to mention about packaging of this controller. The box it came in was top quality with an eye popping graphics which gets you excited ahead of what's inside of it. Definitely a premium quality retail package that captures your attention right away. Once you unpack it, you find MOGA Pro game controller, usb charge cable (a regular micro-usb connector), a very nice tablet stand, and a coupon for a free game (with a suggestion sticker on the box cover for free download of N.O.V.A. 3). PAC-MAN came standard free with a controller as well. Since I mentioned that I'm not big into playing games, I don't have too many comparison references, but the build quality of this wireless controller was beyond any other gadget/accessory I ever reviewed. This lightweight (6.7 oz -> 188g) device is built rock solid. Rubberized grip handles add to a fantastic ergonomics with every possible controller options right under both of your thumbs and index fingers. You get dual analog sticks, directional pad, shoulder buttons and triggers, select/start buttons, 4 action buttons, LED illumination button (for action buttons), and a power switch to select between enhanced MOGA mode and HID enabled mode. Controller is rechargeable so there is no need to worry about batteries or their additional weight. The built-in MOGA arm flips open with a spring loaded latch that extends to handle a smart phone up to 82mm in width. For my testing I used Zerolemon extended battery with it's TPU case which is 85mm in width that got fitted without a problem. One thing to note, in this particular case with Note 2 and ZL ext battery, MOGA arm served as resting kickstand rather than a secure grip that will hold phone tightly. This wasn't a show stopper for me playing various games, using touch-screen in-between, and being able to find a comfortable sitting position with a best viewing angle of the Note 2 screen. Under an additional heavy weight of ZL ext battery, I wouldn't recommend tilting this controller during the game play. But a naked Note 2 or any other 5" or smaller smart phone would get a much better grip with moga arm. You do have to keep in mind, playing video games will put a toll on your battery. Therefore a smart phone with an extended battery is a realistic setup, and I happy to report that even in extreme case with the biggest smartphone/phablet equipped with the largest extended battery - MOGA Pro was still able to handle it without a sweat! Oh, and if you read the latest announced from E3 conference, the next gen of MOGA controllers will feature "boost" technology with a built-in battery charger to keep charging your phone while you are playing.
If you want to use this controller with a tablet, a very sturdy tablet stand will be able to accommodate any tablet even with a case and up to 10" without a problem. The ultimate setup will be connecting your phone/tablet to tv and using controller from across the room thanks to bluetooth pair up. With moga arm conveniently folded back, MOGA Pro becomes a regular wireless controller. Pair up with Note 2 went flawlessly thanks to MOGA Pivot app you download for free. This app will guide you to a list of all the available games supporting enhanced play mode with MOGA Pro where you can select to download (free) or to buy them depending on your selection. It also scans through your already downloaded games and sorts them in the list for easier access. I haven't tried it, but after doing a bit more research found a number of people skipping Pivot app in favor of Universal Driver app to run a lot of other games in HID game mode. I believe that's more appropriate especially with ROM emulators which are obviously not supported by native MOGA app. Either way, you have options to cover you for any game!
Since I already had Dead Trigger and Beach Buggy, it automatically showed up in the list of my games. PAC-MAN was available for download as a free bonus; I also downloaded free version of SG DeadZone, and used my coupon to get free N.O.V.A 3 (which I have to warn you requires additional download of 1.6GB of data). What can I say? Using separate game controller opened up my eyes and cleared up 5.5" screen to a full visibility without hovering with my fingers to reach for controls. I couldn't pulled myself away from playing these games. You definitely get a full standalone gaming experience with this mobile gaming system. What is amazing, it supports even old Android phones with 2.3. So if you still have your old Droid X, dust if off and put it to a good use Switching to play in a setup with Nexus 7 was another great experience where I was able to be less careful with moving the controller since my tablet was up on the included stand. Next week I'm getting a new HDMI adapter, so the gaming will move to tv!
Overall, if you enjoy playing games on your smartphone or tablet and want to have the best gaming experience with one of the best built mobile gaming controllers - for $49.96 shipped free from Amazon and with included 2 year warranty there is no other choice but to go with MOGA Pro. If anybody was hesitant about fitment with Note 2, I hope my pictures below can demonstrate that it can extend to host even Note 2 with Zerolemon battery, although you will have to restrain your excitement while playing so you don't slide the phone out of the moga arm. I will actually go as far as recommending MOGA Pro as one of those must have accessories!

I visited powera, the makers of the Moga Pro, at E3. They are coming out with a moga pro that will also charge phones while in use. No specifics on charging rate, amount, battery life affects on the moga, etc as they had the prototypes on display but thought u guys would want to know.

You'll miss some important info in there
Good review. I like the controller except it doesn't work with all games. Just the ones in the Moga library. I would love to use it playing "Real Racing 3" for example.

Have you tried Universal Driver app? I haven't tried it myself but heard it suppose to be truly "universal".
Great write up.
Has anyone used emulators with this moga controller? Wondering how well the game play is. .
thanks was looking for a good controller for my note 2

I use the universal app and it works for every game I have tried. Also super nes emulator and moga works great.
nice write up and pictures.
I forgot about the universal app. Since I had a PS3, and had gotten Sixaxias Controller app when I had the Evo4G, I went with the GameKlip and Clingo Neklit. Both appear to to have same portability. The way went, makes since if you already have a PS3 controller, otherwise it'll cost more than the Moga.
Dead Trigger, SG Shadowgun, and Shodowgun are a lot more enjoyable experiences with a controller. I would add in GTA3 and GTAVC too.
The bad part, some mobile games just aren't great with controllers because there is no native gamepad support and can't program controls or use touch profiles such as NFS or Dead Space. It's just limits to the games.
Not as robust, but works well with emullators is Wiimote app with a Wiimote. I've used it with the classic controller attached.
where to get this for the uk?
only game.co.uk has it listed and that store is notorious for under stocking (sure enough its out of stock).
do any of the usa retailers ship to the uk?
I ordered now from a usa retailer but I have to wait 48 hours to find out shipping fees.

Don't pull a trigger on original Moga Pro yet. They are coming out in October/November with a new "Power" version that will have built-in external battery to charge your phone while playing and also a new improved latch that will accommodate Note 2 even with Defender case (thus will work with Zerolemon battery/case). It will be a bit more pricey, but in my opinion these improvements worth it.
Engadget done a quick write up about it already: http://www.engadget.com/2013/08/14/powera-moga-power-controllers-hands-on/
Keeping my fingers crossed to get review sample as well whenever it's available.

That does look interesting but trigger still pulled, for few reasons.
1 - If I wait they then may have another improvement in pipeline when I go for the other and then I wait again (and again)?
2 - I will also use this as a holder for the phone in landscape mode (I have my dock for portrait), but will controller be heavy enough to act as a holder, as this review indicates probably not, still probably better than if no holder at all.
3 - I am impatient.
Its possible I wont like this product and resell it right off, I dont even use my phone fo rgaming at all as I find touch controls for gaming counter intuitive. As well as gaming on a small screen. However I am not against small gaming devices, as there is no doubt it saves a ton of space over eg. a full sized console.
So I ordered this controller alongside a hdtv adaptor (which I hope works on a hdmi monitor), but cant test yet due to the hdmi cable not arrived yet.
The combo in use would mean the hdtv adaptor is using the usb port on my phone which is another reason, as that then means I cant use the charge whilst play feature anyway.
I have now found a uk vendor tho and they have shipped game did get in stock quick as it turns out, cancelled the order from powerA as a result.
can this controller work on despicable me 2 or temple run? so I can use this rather than swiping on the screen.
does it work with all games?

Look at the post #11 above. With universal app for Moga it works with every game, including super nes emulators and other emulators.

I feel the need to chime in here now I have this device.
First of all the device is very light weight, some have compared it to a 360 controller, its much lighter and smaller than a 360 controller.
Second in mode A it takes an age to sync to my phone, mode B its faster.
Third even with the universal app at least for me it doesnt work in every game, that app has no documentation that I can find in how to setup touchscreen emulation, it just says how to activate the driver. No idea how everyone else got it working but I cant find documentation on how to setup profiles, it certianly isnt plug and play, so its not the case of install app, activate driver and play any game, thats tripe.
At the moment the controller is an expensive brick for me as I can only get it working on official moga games, after waiting 2+ mins for it to sync.
Using the Zero Lemon case, does it come off quickly when the controller got tilted?
I like to play while lying in my bed. Will it come off and smack on my face? LOL

[REVIEW] iPega PG-9052

Your fingers cover half the display, you tap the screen but nothing happens, and after playing, you're left with countless annoying fingerprints all over your device. We've all suffered the pain of having to play a fast-paced game on a small touchscreen. There are controllers that you can buy to alleviate these issues, but they're expensive—ranging anywhere from $50 to over $100.

And then I found the iPega PG-9052, a ~$22 wireless Bluetooth gamepad. Seeing the low price and relatively well-known brand (iPega has been making gamepads for years, as one can see from the long list of products on their site), I picked one up to try out for myself.
And I was pleasantly surprised. The build quality of the gamepad is very good: the construction is durable, buttons are clicky, and the telescopic stand (which should comfortably fit up to 6 inch phones) is a nice feature. Also, the gamepad has two left and two right shoulder buttons, which cheaper controllers often omit.
The iPega PG-9052 has an unwieldy name, but the device itself is anything but so.
Actually pairing the controller with my device, however, was a bit confusing. You have to press a certain button configuration to make the gamepad enter Bluetooth pairing mode, which took me a while to figure out. Though a manual was included, the instructions had been clearly translated and as a result, were quite difficult to understand. After pairing for the first time, connection was as easy as turning on the gamepad and Bluetooth on my phone.
The PG-9052 worked great for what I wanted, a solid controller for playing ROMs. I tested it extensively with three apps: PPSSPP, My Boy!, and DraStic. It was fully compatible with all three. Buttons were re-mappable in the emulator's settings. There was no distinguishable input lag when playing, from the slowest turn by turn RPGs, to the fastest racing or fighting games. The one con in terms of controls is that the dead zone of the analog sticks is a bit larger compared to some other controllers I have tried. That is, the analog sticks are not as sensitive.
The battery life of the PG-9052 has been excellent. The website that I purchased the gamepad from advertises a 300mAh battery, which sounds small, but I can usually play for about 4-5 hours before needing to plug the controller in.
Overall, the iPega PG-9052 is a fantastic controller. It is comparable to other gamepads double, or even triple its price. The cheapest price I could find was $22 USD shipped from Gearbest (free shipping took about two weeks to get to Toronto, Canada), but Amazon and DX sell it as well. Beware purchasing from small or not well-known online sellers, as there are fakes.
PROS:
- Solid controls, quick response time
- Feels nice to hold
- Phone holder is adjustable, holds up to 6" phone easily
- Long battery life
- Comes with carrying bag and micro-USB cable
- Great price
CONS:
- Analog sticks have sizable dead zone
- Pairing instructions are confusing

Hold the start button, then press on. You should see the first two lights flashing. Go to the bluetooth menu on your phone, you should see PG-9052 listed.

Yup! I tested it with PPSSPP and VisualBoyAdvance on Windows 10, and it worked well.
OK thanks for your answer
I have a problem with iPega 9052. It discharge when I don't use. So I need to charge it before playing games. This is a fault with my controller, or this is normal?

Depends on how fast it discharges. If the battery lasts about a month without you using it, that's fairly normal. If it's just a few days, then probably not.
Btw sorry for the late reply, I don't seem to be getting notifications of new replies to this post for some reason...

You should contact them and see if you can get a refund, or at least the replacement for free. They are usually pretty good if you explain your situation properly.
Hi, sorry to revive this thread but I am looking to buy this gamepad and I want to ask you some questions =D.
When you say analog dead zone is really very dramatic? Or are you saying like a real gamer user? I have the Ipega 9017 and the problem that I have is the lack of R2 and L2 so games Like Modern Combat 5 or Brothers in Arms 3 where R2 is mapped as the fire key I cannot really play them.
So my real question is: is the dead zone really a problem while you using it? Do you recommend to buy the Moga Hero instead of this one? Thanks in advance for all your help!
adding some info after getting one myself
very confortable, easy to repair (good design, questionable assembly) and compatible with so many games... i just love this controller. I can't seem to be able to pair it with my pc win7 64bit tho. I've so far tried everything apart from replacing my bluetooth dongle... meh. maybe later.
So far i've been very pleased with what i found inside the controller. I needed to open the controller as the L2 button pin holding it in place was not inserted all the way in. a simple push with a sharp screwdriver did the trick. everything apart from R2L2 buttons which are in the back cover are well fixed to the front cover. just be carefull with the wires not to rip them off when opening the device, disconnect those and gaze at the components inside.
The whole reason i'm annoying you with all of this is that this puppy is hackable/moddable. one could easily add buttons on the back cover to "burn"-ify the gamepad by routing wires through the speaker slits or upgrade the battery size, add leds...etc. but the best thing is that mine has unused solder pads on the motherboard with refferences to internal speakers, and vibration motors... wow! i guess there is a better model out there or optional functions prepared for a future version/model. meanwhile i will look for ways to hook this up myself id love to have rumble if it's possible...
thank you all for everything you guys contribute to this site, i find myself coming back here more and more as you keep having the best info on every query i have and there's almost no info anywhere on this precious gem of a controller. i simply love it!
P.S. i don't see the excessive dead zone some of you may experience.
Thank you thank you thank you.

do the analogs click on this controller ?
