I still don't think that it's a problem with you being rooted. It is most likely that you have edited/removed system files that are required for the update to install.
Try updating by using a full firmware, downloaded from the Huawei website, and doing a local update with that file. You shouldn't have any problems with updating then.
And also put the update in the internal storage instead of the sdcard, i know alot of ppl had problem updating from sdcard.

Can you give more information? What firmware do you currently have on your phone? And what are you updating to?
I can't understand that all updates are failing. There must be something that is preventing this. Either you have the wrong firmware downloaded, or the download is corrupt, or something isn't right.
Woke up this morning to notification of new software update from att. I'm already on the official KK update from couple of months ago. Anybody else get this? What is the update?

From the above link...
"Update to android 4.4, including improved security".
So what does this mean? What exactly in 4.4 has been updated? What security updates? Anyone know?

But i actually meant did anyone know specifically the differences much like Andy's question
The update forced on my phone, crashed it because I had a custom recovery, so I had to flash back to. Jelly Bean and now I can't obtain root after re-updating.

Have you tried it on a device thats had the new ota update installed?
Also I thought there was a security concern with the kingo root method, something about it being from China and contains malwares that sends files back to its home server, supposedly these files are the ones necessary to clone the device.

Purpose of this thread:
To get you, the locked or unlocked RAZR M xt907 owner, from any version to 4.4.2 (KDA20.62-15.1).
Things you will need:
FXZ KDA20.62-15.1 thanks @stras1234 as always!
Instructions:
Use the RSD Flasher with KEEP DATA to flash this on your phone with RSD.
OR
Use the House of Moto with KEEP DATA to flash this to your phone with fastboot.
OR
Use RSD Lite to flash it, but, you will lose data unless you modify the XML file manually.
This will get you a clean OTA install. You will lose root.
Thanks! I was hoping this would leak soon.
Is it worth it... I have to go through a lot to use a PC... Anyone on the update notice any pro's to this update

No. I dont think its worth it. My phone actually feels laggy now, it shudders during transitions and scrolling. Very annoying. YMMV.

Quick, unlock the bootloader first because it's now or never!!!
As for updating, FXZ packages are suitable for all phones regardless of lock status, though you will lose your app data AND internal storage content in the process - please make backups.

You won't lose data if you use my tools to flash it. Nor does the current version of the FXZ have the erase data line. When the official one gets posted to sbf it may have the erase data line in it, but that will literally be the only difference.

Awesome thank you!! Now my next question is...her phone already downloaded the update but she hasn't implemented it yet. Can it be removed and prevented from updating PERIOD? She doesn't want to update it becuz She'll lose her root and she doesn't want to unlock her bootloader becuz she is still under warranty.

Hi Andy & Sam,
my bootloader just unlocked with motopocalypse,
and flash it using rsdlite with fxz new build (183.64.15),
this rom kinda speedy than before so far..
but i let you know later..
fyi, it is safe flashing this rom, my userdata still remain..
edit: i've lost root after update, and towel root is'nt working.. is there any other rooting tools?..
thx guys.. ?
Unlocked users do not use root exploits. They install custom recovery, flash supersu zip, and call it a day.

Grab a KK-BL-compatible custom recovery from dhacker29's site and flash that. Then grab SuperSU flashable zip from chainfire.eu. You might wanna refer to the guide in General section for details. Follow part 3 for custom recovery and then part 1b for root.

There's a search function for a reason and the devs on here don't have time to just hold your hand and walk you through everything you have to be willing to help yourself and learn how to do things on your own and then if you have a problem or run into trouble then ask for assistance but don't ask to have your hand held through it all.. Here you go.. Make sure you substitute the Verizon firmware for the AT&T firmware as @TechNyne66 said, the OGG firmware.. As long as it's firmware from AT&T you should be good to go.. However if it still errors out and doesn't work that means they (AT&T) have blocked it and you'll have to enter into recovery and select full system restore in order to fix it and get it back to where it is right now.. I'd first make a backup if I were you!!

If you are past the the PH4 update this is not the thread for you.
If you are still on PH4, stop trying to downgrade your bootloader, unless you are flashing a Binary 3 bootloader.
All of this has been explained within this forum. Check my profile and go to my posts. I've already wrote it all up two or three times...
