So this is my second note 3 in 2 yrs.Forst I got new on release date. This one is a refurb direct from tmobile
Im Coming from a s5... I got spoiled with the little better camera clarity .
I been searching high and low for a camera a mod for this device Specially working for the tmobile variant .
I know these days almost all Samsung devices get a camera mod hack.
I seen a few referring to the 9005 model note and a sprint variant .. Stated may work with other devices. I tried to flash but fails on kitkat 4.4.2.
Do we have a dedicated camera mod for this phone.
It's supposed to disable restrictions do something with 4k video and 100% jpg quality with no suppression.
Just curious if anyone has knowledge of a working cam mod for the N900t even if it's from another forum.
Links also would be awesome
Thanks .

From reading online, it sounds like the issue may be software related. I'm trying to find if there is more current fix to the issue than an article I saw on andriod authority. Sorry I can't link to it considering new user restrictions.
I can't seem to find any write ups that are more recent than June / July. Hoping there has been progress in this area
I am extremely disappointed that some of the videos recorded at a concert came out with such bad audio. This hurts coming from an iphone
EDIT - referring to HX Camera Mod
Has anyone used this?

Looks like I can't post in that forum and it is unclear whether this change can be applied to an AT&T phone
Anyone?
Are you on stock or custom rom? Also, don't apply any kind of fixes or patches that not meant for i747. You might brick your phone. Also, someone who might have experienced this issue and might got fixed will reply to you as soon as possible. And if you don't see any replies about your issue, chances are people didn't experience on I747 version of Galaxy S3.

Thanks krips. You're not experiencing the same issues?
I'm on rooted stock. I read that jelly bean should help with the issue

I did record couple of videos when I was on the original stock (prior to 2 recent updates one through Kies and last one and OTA). I'll try to record something today and share my experience.

Mine is the same... recording in a loud environment ie concert sucks. All distorted.. even with latest firmware.

It's a hardware issue, not a software issue. No Android has ever captured great audio that I've found. Used a Motorola Backflip, Droid, Droid 2, Droid X2, Samsung Captivate, and a HTC Droid Incredible. It's one of the few reasons that I keep my iPhone 4 around for.
Not true... just need to be able to turn Mic sensitivity way down and it records fine... voodoo sound in my sgs I allowed you to do it and got great sound in concerts.

It sounds like Voodoo is for Wolfson Audio chipsets which the US version of the S3 does not have?

That's what I've read so far. But there is another audio tweaker available in the AT&T apps subsection for the S3. It may have the ability to turn down sensitivity. IDK. But the logic behind this idea is sound.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1883317
I'm still waiting to find a video recorder that I can use in place of the stock video recorder. So I can finally get rid of the stock camera without losing the ability to record video.
I read that thread but an audio tweaker is like an equalizer.. don't think it addresses the Mic sensitivity issue.

I have been searching everywhere for a decent and fully functional camera mod for the N7100. When I sold my S3 to buy a NOTE 2 I had no idea there was a huge limitation to mods for this device. I support all the developers here in downloading, testing and frequently flashing different roms, but I'm surprised with the fact that the note 2 simply lacks a Camera Mod like the HX camera mod for the S3, which was fantastic by the way. I would like to know if anybody has a forecast or knows if this is currently in development because I have a trip coming up soon and I would love to shoot in 30mbps.
... in which I would also like some feedback regarding this. If samsung used a 19mbps for the video recording, didn`t they do it for a reason? Like in example, nothing above 19mbps showed any improvement in quality whatsoever so to maintain a smaller size yet containing the same quality of a 30mbps, they kept it at the minimum effective quantity. Any comments on this? Either way I'm still in search of a camera mod. Would this be possible editing the build.prop?
LG Camera ap used to use in s2....not tried on note 2....try it

Hello friends,
I am considering to buy a Note 2 to replace my main device as Sensation's touchscreen failed upon me.
I have few questions and I will appreciate your valuable replies.
1. Is Note 2 hardware good enough for next 2 years? I don't play much games and mostly Subway Surfer, Real Racing, MC4. Maybe half hour a month. But I want to be able to run all upcoming Android versions (atleast till developers support this device).
2. I read about SDS somewhere few months before. Is every Note 2 affected? I can't afford to have an expensive paper weight.
3. Does Note 2 have some dual-boot kernel?
4. Any ROM with Note 3 features esp that circle popup thing (or its my wishful thinking ) ?
5. Otherwise which would be recommended Custom Stock ROM, Recovery and kernel (dual-boot is definitely preferred)?
6. Any other major hardware bugs?
7. Btw, could someone guide me as how to check if I decide to buy my friend's old Note 2? How I check it for faults esp hardware? I am getting tempted as I could save some good money for other accessories
If there is something else which hasn't come to my mind but is important please feel free to add. I would be much obliged
Thank you so much !!!

1. Im fairly sure the phone will be extrwmwly adequate 2 years from now (obviously no one knows for sure) but the quad core processor is very capable of playimg the ges you mention. Although there are devices out that already have octo core processors, they all are only usong 4 at any one time and the differences are bare noticable at best.
2. As long as you are getting your phone from an authorized dealer then you shouldnt worry about SDS as that comes with older models and should come with a warrenty that would allow for replacement (one way or another)
3. The guy that built the (either S2 or S3) dual boot kernal was receiving donations to help him fund the tools to make it back in Jan-Mar of this year and I havent heard anything since... nor have I seen anything about it anywhere (atleast not on TMO LTE version. Youre more than welcome to search around a bit yourself)
4. Yes and No... there is but Team E (or whoever) has certain restrictions (really just permission only use) on alot of the Note 3 features that have been made for the Note 2... not really stone walling development, just protecting their hardwork and asking for proper credits, no alterations without reporting back to them, etc... it will be in every new rom eventually
5. Really a matter of who you ask and personal preference. I myself love Ptmr3s Jedi series (Master for TMO WiFi calling or X for other Note 2) but thats because 4.4 isnt out and I love the functionality that TW has for the particular device (samsung hasnt open sourced their SPen, MultiWindow, etc) so theyre not on non-TW BASED roms.. if you prefer AOSP, AOKP, or Paranoid Andriod, or PACMAN, etc than there are carious roms to pick and choose from. As for Kernal... each rom will provide (or users will post kernals that are compatible (I.e. dont use just any kernal on any rom... only what has been tested and proven).
6. Nothing major that isnt morw than an isolated incident at best... obviously of roms are newer or in nightly stages there will be bugs but nothing really hardware related... should mention sometimes on calls, the person your talking to will here themselves (echo) but that is sorta sparatic at best and most roms its not that bad and nothing major (again not really hardware related)
7. eMMC bug checker app. Download from play store, (look up the thread on here) and it will show you what to look for
Hope this helps...
Ultimately the Note should be continued to be developed for some time and able to withstand another 2 years of updates and new handsets. Already have 4.4 on TMO (omnirom - though not a daily driver) and carriers are pushing out stock 4.3 ASAP

@PhxDroid86
Thank you for detailed reply.
So if I am buying new deice I wouldn't have that SDS bug. Right?
I am little surprised (and disappointed) that a powerful device like Note 2 doesn't have dual-boot functionality. That way I could run both Stock (I love various TW functionalities) and AOSP/AOKP/PA, etc
Could you plz provide link or name of the ROM with Note 3 features? Does it have that circle thing?
Thank you once again !!!

Air command? (Using the SPen?) ... what carrier are you on?

No idea whats it called. Yes using S-Pen.
In my country we don't have carrier thing. We have to buy devices at full price
Find out the model of the note 2 amd visit that particular xda thread for further info on uograded custom roms amd updates... also (in case you dont know better... dont flash a rom designed for a dofferwmt device (model number) unless you know what to do.. youll lose cell service and have a bunch of stuff to do just to fix it (some people have ecpensive paper weights)
Good luck, I think the note 2 is a good decision on your part

Thanks for the link
Yes this circle thing I was talking about. So its called S-Finder....ok
Have you used it? Its good?
Any idea about dual-boot thing?
And, I am glad to have given you yours first Thanks here
Thank you mate
Yes it's working verry good. I am using DN3 as we speak and it's a daily driver for me. The rom does not have yet note 3 camera and have a few minor bugs but nothing serious.
For me is as if a bot a note 3 and next update of the rom was anounced allready by the developers.
Edit:
Never felt the need of dual boot and didnt heard of it either for note II.
Please excuse my english...not my native language

Has anybody flashed a note edge rom or anyone flash a note 4 stock rom on the note edge. I'm assuming its all the same . Well anybody that has could you chime in if not i don't wanna start a argument with people . If anyone got a link for that tar I'll kindly flash to see if it works thanks.
My guess is you're gonna run into some problems my friend, even though it's a N4 variant we're talking apple's and oranges on a few key things coding wise.
Ive heard it kinda works if you flash a regular note 4 kernel after but not everything runs at 100%

Hey guys I was looking for suggestions on the best or at least most stable Full N7 port that could work with our Verizon Note 4s. I've been looking but I haven't found much honestly nor do I know what variants can work on our phones.

check out the note 4 general (quallcom) section there are a 2 or 3 full note 7 ports that CAN be stable, with the data fixs , some .buildprop editing , kernel tweaking. I think right now its a bit of what you can get to work for you. If you head over to that section and search verizon there are some of us that have tried them all with varying success. I am running X rom v3, with a louforgiveno data fix that he modified the build prop for. It took some time to get right combo but I have been using as daily driver for a little while.
