Hey there,
I installed Xperia Ice Bean 4.2 on my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, I think it was through ArcKnight 4.0. I think I installed the 4.1 WiFi modules for some reason and they didn't work. I then switched between different Kernels trying to get it to work again. Just now I flashed ArcKnight 4.1, did a factory reset through its CWM and installed the Stock WiFi modules and then after that the ArcKnight 4.1 modules.
This is the first time I've ever installed a Custom ROM. I have rooted a previous phone without unlocking the bootloader.
My steps this time were something along the lines of:
- Unlock bootloader
- Flash ArcKnight 4.0 Kernel
- Install Xperia Ice Bean 4.2
- Install ArcKnight 4.1 Modules
- Set up phone
- Realize WiFi doesn't work
- Try other Modules and Kernels (DoomKernel, Stock ICS kernel with CWM, a few that simply didn't work)
- Install ArcKnight 4.1
- Factory reset through CWM
- Install stock modules and then ArcKnight 4.1 Modules
- Still not working
So, anyone know how I can fix it again? Thanks in advance!

Hi all,
My phone is rooted and has an unlocked bootloader, but I tried to install this rom today:
MooDeD ICS ROM v.4.0 / xUltimate v7.0 Engine [ROM]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526717
But I forgot to flash the new boot.img (new kernel), wich I had to install using flashtool. Now I can't normally boot my Arc (I can understand why), but I also can't get into CWM recovery! So do I know have to flash the new kernel wich I had to do before.. or can I get Android 2.3.4 somehow back on my Arc? And if I flash the new kernel for ICS can I flash it back to the kernel for Gingerbread afterwarts? The new kernel is based on ICS beta btw.
I hope you can help me
Everything is working very well since I flashed the ICS kernel I am now running Mooded ICS rom v30.5 without any problems (few bugs in the rom, but overcomable)

I figured that flashing ICS kernel and install the rom again worked when I had flashed the kernel I could get back into recovery again Thanks for your reply
does the DoomLord Kernel work on a ICS rom? Or does it has to be the ICS kernell by DoomLord?! on other words on ICS Roms the kernel has also to be based on ICS?
That's correct as far as I know has to be ics

I don't recommend doomlord because it's a bit buggy, but there are plenty of usefull kernells. To make ICS work you will need ICS kernell

I tried JJ's Hybrid ROM Ver 3.b..
Everything went well except
1. Internet not working.
2. Is there any way to set custom ringtone..
Using ArcKnight RC2.2 Joker Edition Kernel with baseband -72..
Internet works with the same settings in MOODED ICS 80.8 !!
Did you flash the modules for the kernel? Needs to be done any time you flash a rom, on some occasions you may need to flash stock modules followed by the custom one.

Sorry couldn't follow you
Did u mean the kernel flashing?
1. Flashed Arcknight RC2.2 through fastboot..
2.Did Full wipe/cache and dalvik cache . Flashed JJ's hybird ROM
3. Flashed Arcknight Wi-fi modules..
4. Rebooted phone...
i installed Arcknight kernel over Doomkernel ...
Try this; reboot into recovery, flash the stock wifi modules from here, boot then repeat with the ArKnight modules.

in jj hybrid v3.b edge is not working because u have to redefine the internet apn settings YOURSELF . Then it would work.i don"t know this is a bug in jjrom or u can just use apn backup & resore as a system app due to android 4.0 restrictions.
Will try
@ sinkster
Thanks for your reply ..
Tried the steps u mentioned.. Still the problems exist..
@ ArcMan09 ..
Thanks..
Will try and get back..
btw can i use custom ringtone in this ROM?
dont worry mates, I fixed that Bug in 3.1 stable..
it was missing APN configuration file which i forgot to copy in TEST version..
Thanks a lot
Thanks ...
If i understood correctly i can flash the ROM Control by
1. Installing 3.1 Version.
2. Changing to 24 hr format..
3. Rebooting. (as mentioned for version 3.b)
4. Again rebooting in cwm and flash the ROM Control..
Problem Solved
Installed JJ's Hybird ROM ver 3.1 (no edge issues) and its working great..
Changed time format after flashing ROM Control..
Thanks for all.
Just installed baseband .72 + the libs for it, anyway after i flashed bb72 i keep getting this "Authenticating..." issue when connecting to my own wifi
i waited a while and at the end it said "authentication problem..." any fix?
NOTE: my ROM is Arconium ICS (Stock 4.0.4 FW.431)

First of all from what baseband you have upgraded? What kernel are you using? Usualy all kernels have wifi modules asociated with them... so my recomandation is reflash wifi modeules in CWM. If you have changed kernel and before you`ve had doomkernel, you might need to reflash (from scratch) the Rom also !
Iv upgraded from .56 installed Arconium ICS and flashed .72 as well with the 72libs.zip through CWM, im using XArc v2.0.431 kernel for my arc s
and before i had CM7.2 (GB) with the default FXP kernel for it... btw i dont know if im sure or not but i think i didnt have USB debugging enabled when i flash the bb72.ftf
i also flashed the libraries for bb72 through CWM after i flashed the .ftf
Do a fresh install, and don't flash the libs. They are already included in the Rom.

do u mean re-flash the baseband?
No, the ROM..

Hey there
I have Sony Ericsson LT18i with unlocked bootloader
I have tried to install GB LT18i_4.0.2.A.0.62 and then flashed doomkernel v22 and flash modules via recovery and when I was trying to connect to an open wifi network it gave me optainning IP adress and still like this for a while then it give me Limited connectivity and when I try a secured wifi network it works like magic.
I also tried LT18i_4.1.B.0.587 with doomkernel V5 and then flashed the modules via recovery and still the same problem also it is the same with ArcKnight Kernel and ADV STOCK KERNEL and Stock ICS Kernel.
and the same problem was with all of them.
PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE HELP ME
sorry for my bad english

Hi there!!
I'm about to unlock my phone bootloader, and i wanna know some things about kernels:
Can i "downgrade" the kernel. For example from a KitKat kernel to Stock (Jelly Bean 4.1) Kernel?
Can i use a KitKat Kernel in a Jelly Bean Rom?
If Kernel have CWM recovery, it still working even if ROM stop working?
I know that in Linux you can update to the lastest kernel in same distro and don't matters, but Android is "special"...
Now i've CWM for locked bootloader and it is installed in ROM instead in Kernel, then if ROM is damaged CWM can stop working. I think if is included in Kernel then don't matters what happen in ROM, but I want to be sure.
Thanks!!
I'm not really sure about question 1 & 2.
Answer for question 3:
Yes, the recovery should work even the rom is messed up.
Thats when bootloop happen .

1- Each rom has a specific kernel so if you want to install a kitkat kernel you can't install a JB rom so if you want to downgrade you can only downgrade the version of the kernel !!!
2-As I mentioned above you can't
3-Yes because the kernel is not damaged in your case so CWM will be working with no issues !!!
Thanks!!!, for now i'm still using a JB kernel with JB Rom. Waiting for a full working port of xLoud

If You are going to unlock Your bootloader in future, do remember to backup Your TA partition.
