Restore settings after OTA update

Hello Guys,
I'm wondering if (and how) I can restore my settings (of the screens, scenes etc...), after updating the phone with an OTA update.
At first (re)start, it asked me to restore a backup, but I was not sure what kind of backup it meant, so I said no. Then I saw that my scene was factory default, instead of my own. So I started looking at a way to restore the backup... but I can't find such an option anywhere.
Is it possible to restore?
Greets, Bart.
so, nobody can answer this for me?
Try this Factory reset the phone and it'll ask you if want to do a backup first say no (as you don't want to backup a now reset phone) then after the factory reset when it asks if you wanna restore say yes
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Won't I loose all my apps that way?
Yes, if you don't want to download them all again ull just have to live with doing all your homescreens and setting again

Once you have set your homescreens etc the way you want them get TitaniumBackup from the market and backup everything!
saves alot of hassle, and if your rooted you can also do a Nandroid backup and have everything just the way you left it on your phone

[Q] Backup E-Mail Settings

Hi all,
Has anyone found a solution yet to fully backup your current email settings on the desire so can easily be restored when update or flash a new rom.
I use Backup Pro but there are no options to backup email settings
regards
Titanium backup has the option to backup email accounts, I haven't used it so I don't know if it will fit your needs but just try it out.
cheers will give it a try - it's the only thing that's not backed up on my phone and with half-a-dozen setup it's a pain to redo them everytime i update

Lost contacts

Hello
i rooted with alpharev and then I install CM7.
Now I do not have any contacts. I have make nand backup clockwork
What is the easiest way to get contacts back??
Thanks
I think you should wait a bit.
Mine came back after a while.
Install Google Apps to sync with your Google account. Here's a link http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_Version/Google_Apps
Depends on whether ur contacts are on phone, sim, or gmail account. If on gmail account u shouldn't have lost them.
And I'm not sure but i think my cm7 is not displaying the sim contacts.
Ok. There may be applications to recover them. But they can also be recovered by doing following. This can be done only if u have made the nandroid backup of previous rom.
-----make a fresh nandroid backup of ur current cm7. This won't overwrite the previous backup but just gets saved as a seperate recent backup.
-----then boot into recovery and clear data / factory reset. Then restore the previous backup. Now u will see the contacts. Now backup them with some application to memory card.
-----now again reboot into recovery and restore the cm7 backup. Then restore the contacts with same application u used to backup.
I think it works.
I have recovered original ROM, but there is now no contacts !!!
Thanks for answers.
I hope I have also old contacts in Dashwire for mobile windows
Could I get it from there??
Yes
I guess there is android app too.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Belive it or not but is diffrent software for android from same company
I have also old SE c510 with bluetooth turned on, with stock rom i could transer on wildfire bur now is sanding only from WF to SE

[Q] Titanium Backup + Google user accounts

Is it possible to have titanium backup save your Google user account and password for the phone setup part after flashing a new ROM? 'Accounts' didn't seem to work.
I have a long random password for two google accounts and it would be easier if I didn't have to look them up each time I flash a new ROM.
Thanks.
I don't think that's possible, u'll have to put it in manually
Alright, thank you.
Just got the phone so trying a few diffrent ROMs and was hoping there was an easier way.

How to do a full backup of my P2 before factory reset

Hey people,
since my battery life is not as good as it could be i thought about trying a factory reset.. im on custom rom and i dont really trust the google backup function to restore all my data after the reset..
Is there a way to get a full backup of my phone with all its data without root? I really can't afford to loose my calendar data etc.
If you guys say the google backup will do its job perfectly I'll give it a try though :fingers-crossed:
Titanium Backup!
Give it try
Without root? The app is telling me its not possible without..
Titanium wont work without root you could try superbackup.
Google's own backup is pretty good. I think Lenovo has its own backup service as well. Your calender should sync with the cloud, but to check you could always try the web app, log in with your details and see if your events are there. Not too sure about messages. Settings / Backup and reset.
