THX

hi there, I'm searching for one that works perfect as I type. I know anything past 6.0.1 is almost certainly not going to work as the feature isn't included in any of those. I have found one or two CM based 6.0.1 that work but the audio won't come through , it freezes up alot and the screen is not filling the panel appropriately. I use to have no problems before I started flashing new stuff and so I'm working my way backwards but all the 5. series roms are very hard to find/discontinued. I'll post back here if I find a good fit with full functional MHL.

[Q] preliminaries prior flashing an A101

Hey there!
i'm pretty new to modding android and recently got an A101 from a colleague - i think still one of the two best devices in the 7" format with only the Huawei Medipad providing the same functionality.
Anyway, i'd love to try something new and am already rooted with ZeroNull's method wich worked like a charm. Now that i've read many threads in this forum the past week i'm a little bit concerned about some things. First of all, when i'm in stock recovery my power button isn't working, so i cannot make any input besides selecting the menu-entries. Is it likely the case, that i would be facing this issue when installing a custom recovery? Since TWRP has a touch gui i shoudn't be aware of this, right?
Further A101 specific questions i wanne be 100% sure of, since there's no A101-Forum:
- i'm fine with installing bootloaders like TWRP or CWM made for the A100?
- aswell ZeroNull's unlock bootloader method?
- which custom ROM's do support 3G? I'm thinking about pio_masaki's Jellytime Sosei, his CM10 build, or KEBBERSROM...(?)
rather an ubuntu related question:
Am i fine with installing the packages: android-tools-adb & android-tools-fastboot or do i need the full - Android-SDK?
The most important thing for me is to get rid of acers bloadware, so i'm planning to install TWRP followed by a nandroid backup and kiling them softly *fingerscrossed*

Cwm and twrp are recoveries, not boot loaders, and are fine for the 101, no worries there. Everything for the a100 works for the 101 except the Roms, a100 ROMs on a101 kills 3g. You lose 3g, period. Cm10.1 I had some experimental 3g stuff in there but I never heard back on that.
Maybe I'll see about adding it to cm10.

Thats too bad to hear but i was expecting this. Just thaught that CM10 could have 3G functionality since some friends are using cyanogen on their phones. And since Sosei lacks of GPS it's not an alternative for me either. After all i convinced my wife to buy the a101, so that we can use it as navigation aswell ;P
well well, i really would appreciate the 3G Feature in your CM10, but i dont wanne hassle so - just if you have time for it of cause.
greetings and thanks so far

It can have 3g just fine, I've asked a few times for the 3g ril files from 101 users wanting me to build for them, they always vanish and I never hear back about it.
A100 just had its rotation for builds last night / this morning so it'll come up again sometime between wed-fri I think. Been looking at updating the black bean build and maybe adding AOKP as well, I'll use them for testbeds. I may go ahead and just do an extra day on the A100 and see about getting a potential 3g build up for you.
Side note, sosei will use gps if you use the newer cm10 boot.img.
Current rotation is:
Nexus 7 holds priority as I've been invited to Team Sorcery as their N7 dev.
Toshiba Thrive 4.2 development, 4.1.2 updates and kernel work (voodoo sound) comes second as they've been extremely generous to me.
Droid DNA aosp porting as the device was pretty much donated
Slight GNex work as needed, rare
A100 is bottom/last as I don't own one, luckily fixes from the thrive usually directly move over to the A100
Other devices I don't own.
I have a few things planned for the A100 for some nice updates and releases to jeep you guys in a variety of ROMs, like AOKP and some updates to the cm9 kernel I use.

thats of cause comprehensible, since these iconias are quite old, right. And if i didnt needed the (3g)/hdmi (looking forward for ubuntu for android) i guess i would have baught an Nexus 7 aswell. However, in two weeks i got an exam and i'm investing way too much time right now in reading about all that stuff here so if you could direct me were to read about this 3g ril files or tell me how i can find them on the mashine i'll send it to you. I've read something about the build.prob but no mentions about 3g, cellular or ril or whatsoever in it. Also a "find" gave me nothing.
Unfortunately i have to read some annoying §&"/%§ now but i've set up the email notification now.

Any 4.4.2-ROM without Camera/Bluetooth-issues?

Hi,
I really like to upgrade my N7100 to KitKat, but with every KK-ROM I've tried I wether had camera- and/or bluetooth-issues.
Sometime the camera takes some photos and then freezes, sometime I can make one call via bluetooth and the dialer freezes while making the second call.
Only a reboot solves these problems (or my "Restart Camera"-app) - but with this problems I really don't want to use KK-ROMs.
Does anybody has a recommendation for a KK-ROM, maybe in combination with a custom kernel?
I would really appreciate any help!
Best regards

Thanks for your reply - but as the title says I'm looking for KitKat-ROMs.
But all ROMs you mentioned are JellyBean (4.3) ROMs!
Is there any recommendation for a KK-ROM without camera/bluetooth-issues?
Otherwise I will have to wait for official Samsung 4.4.2-ROM like announced on the official Samsung-website:

AOSNP works for me
I installed the AOSNP rom from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638434
Then gapps from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857
I used these files from the above link:
GApps Core 4.4.2
~20 MB-
Playstore-
Syncing apks and libs, etc.-
Google Camera 4.4.2
Automatically removes AOSP Camera/Gallery and adds Google Camera/Gallery
AOSP Calendar Sync 4.4.2
Adds syncing ability for AOSP Calendar (not in Core or Standard packages)
My wife has been using it for 6 days wit no camera or Bluetooth issues.
She uses Bluetooth Jaber about 5-6 hours a day.
Only complaint is battery drain, but maybe when the developer is back up he will be able to resolve it.
It's very fast and stable so far, if it wasn't she would definitely let me know.
Since I don't think KitKat has been officially released for Note 2 yet... I suspect there is non without issues. Best to wait until official version comes out for developers to play with (which should hopefully be within next 2 months).

[Q] [Question][ROM] Fastest / Efficient Rom 4.4 -5.0 for GT N5100

Hey everyone!
Since I have the Galaxy S5, I am not using my Note 8.0 as full media device anymore.
Mainly for reading and taking notes and that's the point.
Currently I've got the CivZ_FlexNote8.0-KK with Android 4.4.2 and the CivZ SphereKat Rev4.0 Kernel.
It's working, that's is not the problem - but I want a really slim, fast and efficient ROM.
So, what is the most efficient ROM right now?
SlimKat?
Thanks for every answer!
To be honest, stock does a great job. I trim down Google services and freeze what I don't need. Been there with modded ROMs, and find more trouble than what they are worth. Rather mod my stock ROM and be happy everything I want works smoothly as long as Google does not mess with updates.
This Note 8.0 will be the last Android device I'll get... Sticking with Linux, Apple, or Windows devices. never in my life have I had such an issue with an OS, if you can call Android an OS.

Still looking for that one ROM...

Hey guys,
I've had the HTC One M9 since last fall and have tried a few different ROMs. They are all very well done, you can customize different things and make it look/feel how you want. However, I still have not found a ROM that has everything working that I'm looking for. Other than working speakers/headphones, Wifi/cellular (which they all have), the most important factors for me are: bluetooth, location, and privacy guard.
I'm running TWRP 2.8.7.0 unlock S-On GSM
Here are the ROMS I've tried:
Candy5 - Everything works but bluetooth. I love this ROM but if it had bluetooth it would be sooo perfect!!! Candy6 also has bluetooth issues.
CM12.1 - Everything works but location!! Exact opposite from Candy5. I've tried updating all the google apps and changing location settings but it just won't work. CM13 was the same for me.
Viper One (lollipop) - Great ROM, but I can't access privacy guard/permissions manager. I don't really like all the app permissions out there so really like having the privacy guard on there. If this wasn't an issue I would go with stock or Viper One and it would be game over. Everything else works really well. I assume this is that same with MaximusHD, also built off the stock ROM, but I haven't personally tried it.
Are there any other suggestions? If not I'll probably stick with Candy5.
Also this community is awesome! Ever since I switched to Android this place has been amazing. Keep up the good work
You realise that marshmallow has a permission manager?.

What's wrong with cm12.1?
I'm running the latest unofficial continuing build from Adlx and have no problems with location that I am aware of. Are you talking about GPS?
And here's the link to the continuing cm12.1 builds:
