I get install interrupted , Updated failed. Have done a fdr. same result.
Any help would be great.
Is it on the att network? I have a Verizon xperia z2 tablet and it only otas if on the Verizon network, otherwise I get error during DM session, so I had to download the update and flash it
Meaning am I using att service? Yes. Or meaning use my lte

yea, why wouldnt you be able too? just log into your google account. google themselves have no issues with us having root.
Well it's not activating is all I know. I was on Verizon support and they're kinda stumped so I was going to flash back to my stock ROM after a backup. Hopefully that solves this issue and I can restore it in the next 10 minutes.
Doesn't rooting/ using a custom ROM void the warranty or whatever?
I'm still getting used to these LTE phones, but I believe that simply inserting an activated Verizon 4G LTE SIM card will automatically activate the device to be used on a cell network.
Someone please correct me if my information has errors.

Not for me apparently. I get 4G but can't make calls.
I was on the Verizon support but... didn't want to say "Hey I rooted" that used to void the warranty.
edit: After a factory wipe/ unrooting/stock it activated

Hey, people!
I have an unlocked SGH-i747 I got last week. Today I tried to enable USB tethering, but I got the message "Mobile data is not available or invalid SIM"; same thing happens if I try to enable Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
¿Any solution to this? I know I will probably have to root the phone, that's no problem.
Thanks!

Yeah; I didn't know AT&T does that for tethering. I just flashed a modified stock ROM with the tether fix and that worked out pretty well.

I have AT&T device, rooted and unlocked on another provider; also build-in tether does not work.
But it is working over 3rd party free (donate) application "Wifi tether" for rooted devices.
EDIT:
I double checked now, and it does not transmit any data over "Wifi tether" application. Sorry, it does not work....

Okay, so the question I have for OP is -- do you have network data turned on?
"Mobile data is not available" << means that data is turned off. Turn data on, then try to enable hot spot, then that should work.
http://www.marksatterfield.com
Mark, are you serious?? Of course I have network data turned on! Why would one try to share a disabled connection?
And always remember to read the whole message: "Mobile data is not available OR invalid SIM."
Have you guys tried pdanet? I've used it on stock and haven't had an issue with it.

I have the same issue, get the no mobile data or invalid sim with the built in feature. Tried different 3rd party apps and I get the same message with those. Tried the tether unlocker and that didn't work either. Even did the tethering provision file replacement and it still does the same thing. Contacted Rogers and I have tethering feature. My phone is a AT&T GS4 unlocked.

This is for AT&T SGH-I747 with Android 4.4.2 and with Baseband Version i747UCUFNJ1.
Download it. Once download you need to flash using any custom recovery.
Though it is not required but it is always advised to take complete backup of the device. Also, you need to try at your own risk. If you brick the phone, I won't be responsible. I flashed my phone and everything looks good.
Feel free to donate if it help.

I have a Samsung I747 with 4.4.2 not rooted, what version of PDANet are you using, I can get mine working?
Trying to get this straight instead of hopping through forms. The stock att 4.3 rom can be loaded on the canadian i747m but theres no modem to support the i747m. Am I correct in saying this or has anyone flashed it and got it working here in canada? I'm with telus and I know I'm going to be waiting forever for telus to put the official update out.
Thanks

rymanh - says "Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337M using xda premium" this indicates you are using the S4, maybe wrong thread?
There have been reports of it working with the old modem on the 747m but ONLY with TELUS. I have not read anywhere that it has worked for bell. I myself from the day that this was leaked and repacked by looserskater as a flashable, have been UNABLE to get data on bell. Everything else works flawlessly. When you go to mobile networks, with will say that there is no sim inserted. But once again this is on BELL there are screenshots of it working on TELUS as i said but they can be faked. I747M Running Stock Android 4.3
So for the Canadian user's with the galaxy S3 I747m got the official Android 4.3 update yesterday under Rogers network. But the problem is without me knowing about this, " KNOX " also got installed with this update and I just found out there is no way to remove it. Will a developer be making say a REMOVAL TOOL to remove KNOX???
Even i am in the same boat. I also installed andriod 4.3 but KNOX came with the pack. Now whenever I try to use SuperU or Root application, Knox gives me an error.
If I click on Knox app, it asks me whether to install and create an account. Hence, I am sure, Knox is not installed yet in my device, but still I get error - "Unauthorized access to a secured area has been blocked. Tap to learn more." I believe this is fully related to the new security app "KNOX" from samsung that was loaded during the update.
Can anyone give some hint how to remove Knox or regain root access?
If you're looking to root 4.3 then just use cf auto root. After following the steps in the thread just update or install supersu from the play store and after opening it it'll ask if you want to disable knox. Just press yes.

I hav got a s3 i747m as a gift from canada. I live in india. I studied a lot about Region locking and its effects . I had 4.1.1 and I updated to 4.1.2 through wifi(settings> about device> software update) .. now the next update is 4.3 .. I talked to samsung customer care (national ). they said that give your phone to nearby local samsung service centre . they will modify your imei to indian based and u won't face region locking anymore. but when I visited service centre . they said that they are not authorised to unlock s3 which is not Indian region based. they can't help me. now what should I do ? I can't get a sim from canada. and can't I ever update to 4.3 or 4.4(in future) ?
thanks in advance for reading and helping me
I think the best thing you should do is root your phone and put a custom ROM on it. It's the only best thing going for you right now. If you need help with the rooting or ROM, just reply back here.

My galaxy note 3 is currently running the latest stock firmware from Tmobile, non-rooted. For about a week there was still LTE signal on my device; however, today after I received a phone call from a friend, the mobile network drop to EDGE and won't get back to LTE. I tried restart the phone, reset the apn setting, and nothing works. I had this issue before with a custom ROM and assumed it was due to the ROM that I installed. Now it happens with a stock firmware as well.
Does anyone have any solution to this or have the same issue and know to get LTE back on their note 3?
Thank you for your time.

I'd get a new sim first and check it out. Also I would play with apns for a min
I recently bought a new "Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB SGH-T999L 4G LTE White - T-Mobile" from Oakland Wireless via Amazon. This is for my fiancé, to replace her broken iPhone 4s. After popping in her T-Mobile sim card, the phone seems to work fine. However, the WiFi calling feature seems to be missing and when we try to perform a software update it ends with "process failed". The installed Android version is 4.1.1.
She went to a T-Mobile store to see if they could help. They were also unable to get the phone to update, and eventually told her that it would never work simply because we didn't buy the phone from T-Mobile. They also told her it would only be a talk and text phone, and wouldn't get data service. However, this last part is clearly false, as she has been using data without any problem.
Does anybody have experience with this issue? Were the folks at the T-Mobile store correct or mistaken?
Also, assuming they are correct and the phone can't be updated over the air, can I just download and install a stock ROM with the latest version and WiFi calling? I have a custom ROM installed on my Galaxy Exhibit, so I am familiar with installing ROMs, but my fiancé doesn't want a custom ROM, she wants stock.

Well first of all the T999L released with 4.1.2 so something doesn't seem right, and it may be why its not updating. To get a better idea of the phone model, can you post a screenshot of the about device section? And I assume you are not rooted correct? Download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo scroll to firmware info and post it here as well

Hmmm. Maybe I got the version wrong or maybe it's not really a T999L? She isn't here with the phone right now, so I'll have to get back to you.
I stopped posting the OTA's simply because they're next to useless for us. Fladhing the firmware via Odin has a much greater success rate snd OTA's are notorious for causing all sorts of problems. Just wasn't worth the trouble to post them anymore.
I attached the screenshots from the phone info app. Looks like maybe it's not the LTE model after all? I looked behind the battery, and it also says SGH-T999 with no "L" on the end.
The strange thing is that it shows an LTE mode in the network settings. However, I've never seen it actually use LTE mode, even though T-mobile says it should work at our location (Seattle). Using the Ookla speed test app, I get ~4 Mbps down (the same speed as my Galaxy Exhibit).
I'm thinking about returning the phone if it is not the correct model. I'm curious though, if I try updating the firmware and it doesn't work, can I restore everything exactly to it's current state before I return it? I don't want them to refuse the return because I messed with the firmware.
Ok looks like you got a Frankenstein phone.. That's an at&t bootloader with a Canadian product/model name & T999 build that I've never heard of.. I would just return it or ask for an exchange, not worth it to keep messing with it
Yup. Another one! And its got a csc from the I9300! The LEM build, if I remember right, was the original stock 4.0.4 firmware. But there is way too much conflicting info there for me to be comfortable recommending much of anything.
I just installed that app to make sure it wasn't giving bad info, and it is showing everything correctly for mine.
As for the LTE showing up in the menu, that isnt too uncommon. If you want to know what you are really connected to, check Settings, About Device, Status, Network Type. Best to do this during a large download.
But aside from it being a franken-phone, everything that is related to the T-Mobile model points to it being a non-LTE T999.
