Z1c Dirty camera lens (inside) - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I'm having a very annoying problem regarding the camera lens: It's dirty from the inside. I can't take clear pictures anymore.
It had some contact with water which resulted in mist on the camera lens. I thought it just needs some time to disappear - but I was terribly wrong: Well, the mist disappeared but now theres something new: Some kind of dust inside the lens:

It's NOT on the outer side of the lens.
Anyone else with this problem?
Anyone knows how to fix it?

I had the same problem on my Z1 Compact. I ended up solving it when I swapped the back for a glass one - in the process, I carefully cleaned both the lens and the camera module, both with cotton swabs dipped in rubbing alcohol following by a clean microfiber cloth. Haven't had the problem since, but I also haven't had it around water since my microUSB flap has become a little loose.

Sent it to Sony Repair service (w-support) on Monday and got it back today! They repaired it for free (warranty covered).
Image of repair report (translation below image):
Reported problems:
- Other problems: There's some kind of dust inside the camera (sporadically) | comprehensible: yes (information: This was the problem I reported to Sony)
- Troubles with camera (broken lens, dust) (permanently) | comprehensible: yes
- Sharpness-/Autofocus problems (permanently) | comprehensible: yes
Note:
Repair and quality control was successful.
Replaced parts:
- Housing part
- Camera
- minor hardware (like screws, etc...)
- wireless antenna
This was my 2nd warranty covered repair on this device

[Q] GPS Antenna fried? pics inside!

Lately, i've not been getting any GPS fix. I've tried the conventional way, putting pressure on the antenna cap, and using several apps. nothing worked.
On youtube i saw a way to pop off the cap of the GPS antenna and flashlight.
When i opened it, it looked like this:
2 black spots on the contact!
What's that? fried? so that's the reason for no connection at all?
so what next?
1: a blob of solder on it?
2: connect it with a wire between the 2 springs?
3: buy a new cap?
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Where do you see black spots on the contacts?
And if you had black spots on the contacts, the electronics would probably be fried too.
well, its not visable on the photo but in the circles is definitly a black spot!
here it show's up as grayish :S

dont worry, its not fried.
the black spots are the normal signs of wear.
i (and many others) have/had the same problems.
some soldered wires between the 2 golden springs.
another thing you can do is lift the golden springs just a bit, so that they make better contact with the antenna cover. but thats not permanent and in a few weeks, you will have to do it again.
i just put a (little) blob of solder on each contact of the cover.
be careful if you do this. the golden traces of the antenna are just painted on and you burn them really quickly, so best just put a bit of solder on the tip of your iron and briefly touch the contacts, because they are so thin and warm up really fast, the solder should flow over quickly.
Ok, I'll try that, if not, i just order a new antenna cap
I'll keep you posted if it works or not!

My screen is all purple and green.

I think there is something wrong with a connection or with my screen. I can see everything clearly, it's just that the whole thing has like a purple hue / green hue that streaks and changes, kind of like an aurora you see in the sky, when I nudge the top part of my phone (screen part). I took a screenshot and I examined it on my computer, and it shows a perfect picture with no purple. Therefore it has to be my screen.
Do you guys know what's wrong with my phone, and how I can fix it? I am very hand with soldering and such.
Looks like this (not my phone, but the artefacts are identical:

Might be the ribbon cable between the screen and keyboard parts of the phone. Especially your description of the colors changing when you nudge it.
where can i purchase one?
And does anyone have a link of a DZ teardown?
EDIT:http://tjworld.net/blog/htc-desire-z-tear-down
But I still don't know where to find the replacement cable.
I have the exact same issue with my phone.
Here is the cable on Amazon
I'm just about to buy one myself.

Yup. Or you can get a kit with all the required tools online at eBay, Amazon and other places for less than $10 (just did a search for "phone tools" at both those websites, and got plenty of hits). I personally haven't taken apart my Z. But having taken apart other electronics (like iPods), its handy to have the specific tools (such as the plastic tool in the teardown guide) and can result in less/no damage to the casing.

Screen with lines multi colored!!

Hi, I have a big problem with my desire!
I lent several months my old desire a family member .. It has not been very careful and had no protective case he does not like it .. The phone was still working when I was handed.. However, the fully plastic housing was very scratched and small pines broken.
So i order a housing from ebay. I followed this video on youtube to disassemble the phone : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXZqIjtFoAU&feature=relmfu
I assembled the phone later and I have a problem with the screen. I tried several times to reset the screen .. the screen is beautiful no scratched.
Here is my picture:

Help??
The screen is broken, you need to replace it.
Dunno but i would take it apart again and just make its all put back together properly, u never know, u coulda missed something or something not connected right.
Sent from my HTC Desire
Hi,
I disassemble several times and everything seems normal. Except that the GPS connector is broken because its a very thin wire .. but I do not think it is connected!
The glass do not have to be broken, but as i said before this looks like faulty lcd or the connector. However i would say it's fault lcd, 'cos connector would rather give you a light gray screen.
Looks like it gets 'bloated'...
This is strange because the screen is in good condition and the connector too as everything is connected. So you think it is the lcd has a problem .. I disassemble again yesterday and no improvements. However, the volume buttons on the connector that is connected to a part of the motherboard's detached. Possible to fix?
Screen doesn't need to be broken to be fault.
If it was me - i would say the screen is broken and i would replace it as it looks so. But i can't promise that's it, sorry.
I'll wait in case , thanks for your time!

Spot on the lcd! How to remove?

Hello guys,
These days a spot appeared on the screen of my device and I decided to open it for cleaning thinking of humidity between the touch and the lcd but when I realized that the spot was even in lcd. Done a cleaning with cotton moistened and with a little pressure on the screen apparently had resolved but the spot came back in a larger area now.
The touch works normally and the image also appears normal in the spot area that is more visible when the screen is off.

No...Why?
Looks like moisture, if you already opened it, open it again and allow it to dry.
Yup moisture or you squished the LCD lol

What may be the problem if display is working but touch isn't?

Yesterday randomly my Op3's touch screen stopped working.
From the last one year or so, there is a little gap between the mobile's display and the actual device because of the display glue coming off but nothing major happened with the phone in 1-2 days that can result in t's touch not working. I would have gone to the OnePlus service center but it is currently closed due to lockdown.
Does anyone have any idea if this means my display panel is dead or some display cable got loose which resulted in touch not working (or anything else)? I am attaching two pictures of the phone to show you guys about the display gap I am talking about.
Note: The display works perfectly and the phone works perfectly too if I connect it to my laptop and remote use it by USB debugging. Also, the touch screen problem is not caused by an app as the touch screen is also not working in the recovery mode (TWRP). Any help will be appreciated.

Screen and touch, display assembly is connected with only one cable on our device(navi buttons and fingerprint scanner are different). So if touch broken, probably it won't be able to repair. They will replace the entire screen.
Seems this thing happen to many people, i got it loosen in the same area as yours
They use double side tape which soften overtime+removing the phone from the case break it
Though my tc is fine because when i notice it i immediately glue it with standard tc glue instead using double side tape (much simpler, without opening the phone)
