Command Line Interface

I've had a look at a few programs and they all require command line changes to set up specific option. I have no idea how to get this to work with WM5.0 and no ammount of Googling and forum searches has helped. I know what to do in a desktop environment but there is no option for mobile based applications. Can anyone tell me how to add command line options to a program or shortcut on WM5.0?
total commander
Thanks
EDIT: NVM me a fool...
if you just want to launch an app with command line hold down the action key (the one in the middle of the d-pad) then long-tap the clock / battery icon area on the top bar. Release the action button and a popup menu will appear giving you the "RUN" option just like on a desktop PC.

Oh, wow! That is a very handy bit of information!
Sorry to bring up such an old thread, but I haven't been able to get this d-pad trick to work (in WM6.1). The app just opens as soon as I press down the center button. I've also been trying to do it through Total Commander but I haven't been able to figure out where to specify the options. I've been at this for two days. Can someone please point me in the right direction so I stop feeling like an idiot? Thanks.

Map "OK" Button

Does anyone know how to map the "OK" button (the one on the side next to the scroll wheel). I have practically no use for it. Or what about the ok button on the main face?
Its button five. Just go to settings, button and then select a different function for it.
I have SPB Pocket Plus and map that button to ALT TAB

button 5 is the voice button not the OK button.
I too would like to remap this button. I use Wisbar Advance and I could map the Close/Ok command of Wisbar to this button. Right now I have it assigned to the Comm. Manager button. but as the OK button is of little use to Wisbar it would be nice to us it.
Is it possable?
Try using PQzII. I have successfully mapped the ok button with it. The button code is hex 0x75 or decimal 117.
http://www.nicque.com/PQz/PQzII.htm
Just put a line at the Program.ini:
"0","117","\Windows\VJOkButt.exe",""
yeah,
works great.
I used AE-Button before, but the nag screens were really annoying.
It is much easier using WkTask.
If you dont want to edit the Program.ini manually, here's a small tutorial
1. Download Install the appropriate PQzII*.cab file for your device
2. Right-Click(Tap&hold) on the uqly white Square at the Top of you screen and select setup.
if this does not appear for any reason, Start the PQzIISetup right from the Programm directory.
3. In the Setup, select the Program Tab.
4. Check "Use this function"
5. Click "Add"
4. Leave 'none' for the "Key" field, enter '117' in the "Code" field.
5. Enter the path to the programm which minimizes/exits your programms (for me this is \Windows\WkTask.exe"
6. Enter the parameter for the programm (for me this is /c)
(7). If you want to remove the ugly white square select the icon tab and uncheck "use this function"
8. Save Settings with "OK".
9. If you want to startup PzII automatically after device startup, create a shortcut to the exe in \Windows\Startup
Hope this helps you

Tobias

"Run" dialog

1 This will open a "Run.." dialog like in normal windows:
- Hold the 'action' button (center button of the d-pad)
- Tap and hold the clock icon
- Release both and select "run"
2 - Hold the 'action' button (center button of the d-pad)
- tap and keep the stylus on the name of the active window
- Release both and a window pops up with info about the selected window or it's parent

edward
Cool!!
Nice! It works
lol, WM5 did that too... and it is pretty useless unless you're running in exe in the windows folder, so you don't have to wait 45 seconds for the explorer to display the folder contents.
"Run" dialog -- shortcut?
Hi,
does anyone know, how to link this to a shortcut? (I disabled the clock in taskbar )
Thx,
Stephan

Google Introduces Handwrite Search

Here's how to try it out:
Step 1: Enable the feature
1. Turn the feature on or off in your search settings. Touch Settings at the bottom of the Google homepage or a search results page, or visit google.com/preferences.
2. Go to the Handwrite section, select Enable to turn on the feature, and then touch Save.
Note: You might need to refresh the homepage to see the feature.
Step 2: Use it to search
1. Tap the Handwrite icon in the lower right corner of the screen on your mobile device.
2. Use your finger to start writing your search terms anywhere on the screen.
3. While you write, your handwritten text converts into typeface in the search box. If you need to delete a letter, tap the backspace icon . Press and hold the backspace icon to delete more than one letter at a time. Click X in the search box to start over again.
4. You'll see a list of predicted queries below the search box as you write. Tap one of them to search for that prediction, or click the arrow to the right to build your query and keep on writing.
5. Tap the search icon to search.

[MOD] Disable home button wake

I take no credit for this. Did a Google search and found it on the Sprint Gnote 2 XDA forum. I tried it and it works on our Verizon Gnote 3 phone.
All credit goes to ffolkes:
1. Mount as R/W and find /system/usr/keylayout/gpio-keys.kl.
2. Long hold the file and choose the option "open with text editor".
3. Scroll to the line that says:
"key 172 HOME WAKE"
4. Now delete the word "HOME" so it says:
"key 172"
4. Save it and reboot your phone.
