Bugs & Thankses
Thankses:
Special thanks to @Saatvik Shukla for figuring out how to make the kernel bootable
Bugs:
- Minor bugs, same as CM
Wonna have TWRP recovery?
You can get yourself one by flashing one of these:
Fota TWRP 2.8.x.x recovery for amami
MultiROM TWRP recovery
Runs great so far, LS has always been my favourite. Only thing I can see missing is quicktiles management. Thank you all!
Edit: this is so far the only ROM and kernel that charges at a decent rate. All the other lollipop ROMs maxed out at between 100 and 700 mA for me. This one is charging on average over 1A (1180mA currently). Whatever you guys are doing with LS, it's working.
edit 2: Small issues. I can not seem to find the power menu options to enable screenshot, and in landscape mode, the navigation bar is on the left where it normally displays on the right in other ROM's
Sent from my Xperia Z1 Compact using Tapatalk
This ROM seems to have the same issue as LS 3.2 - can't mount USB-OTG. Is this a known issue?

Hi just tested now on the 19th nightly. USB OTG works fine for me, and flash drives and external hard disk are picked up perfectly by FX explorer and x-plore file manager. Tested as well with USB keyboard/mouse combo and all good as well.
I never had any issues with LS 3.2 as well. Your OTG cable not maybe stuffed? I tried with two different "cheap" cables, and they both work fine.
Disks are reflected under settings / storage us well, and unmounted fine.

Seems like it's just my phone then I tried the stock Sony OTG cable as well as a Samsung stock cable and neither seemed to work.
Thanks for all the commits Omar!

yes, the fm radio works if you install spiritFM (i'm running spiritfm2). good quality and clear sound
The cm FM app of cyanogenmod is not included; in my opinion it has some issues with bad signal.
@OmarEinea: thank you very much for this nice ROM. There is only one big problem, the speaker sound is really crappy. It seems to be much louder than normal but with a bad sound quality.
I've read that you have include some kind of sound mod in RR. I assume that the same mod is messing up the sound hear too. Is there any way to revert it?
One other thing, it would be great if you could include an option to mute the volume adjustment sound. Thanks in advance.

I removed the loud sound mod from today's build,
I'll probably link to the mod in the second post for anyone who wants to use it as an extra flashable zip.

Omar.

Already flashed today's build and noticed that the sound is normal again. Thank you.
Hi,
this ROM works well for the time i have tested it. But here are few issues i encountered:
- Viper4Android needs SELinux to be on permissve instead of enforcing
- When the brightness is really low the screen starts to flicker
- Color calibration gives me a FC (System settings/Display)
For the first time lolipop on this device this is great. Thanks for the good work^^.

Viper4Android is new issue to me,
brightness is an old device specific bug (in all ROMs),
color calibration is working fine on my device (just playing with it in Settings > Display > Color calibration)
Regards,
Omar.
First thanks for your reply

I got "Driver Status: Abnormal" in V4A. So googled a bit and this solution i have found so far.
And i checked color calibration again and you are right. Now it works, don't know what was wrong before. But hey if it works now everything ist fine^^.
Been jumping back and forth between other 5.0 / 5.1 ROMS, but always end up back on LS. We haven't had a nightly for a few weeks on Z1C; just wondering if anyone knows whether they are focusing on 5.1 exclusively now for the future builds, or whether 5.0 nightlies will continue sometime in the future. I see for example that CM12 theme engine seems to be implemented now, and not layers as in the current build available.

Plain Awesome
I moved on from Dstriker Rom because i wanted Lollipop. I wasn't sure i would like this ROM but now I know that I don't need anything else.
Simple, clean, elegant and fast! This ROM is almost perfect!. It is missing only one thing: The Sony Camera and 4k recording, but i noticed all CM based ROMS lack it. I know a few things about ROMs and Kernels myself, if you think i can help with anything PM me, I am more than happy to help anytime! Keep up the good work!
Check in
I've come back to report a few bugs i found so far:
1) Proximity Sensor is not working incall( The screen keeps on while putting the phone on ear)
2) Screen flickers when adaptive brightness is enabled(I think it was mentioned before)
3) Browser doesn't work properly when writing( Example: If i write a word and then i hit space and try to write another word, the first word is deleted)- Problem Solved by installing Chrome
4) Even if i am full Signal the phone tells me i have no service
5) Under the settings and user icon in Notification Bar it writes: null-null when i click it nothing happens
Minor Bugs, this ROM is still the best!!!
---------- Post added at 11:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:20 AM ----------
Sorry about the null-null report, i found out that is the Weather Widget and now it functions correctly
---------- Post added at 12:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:45 AM ----------
No service and many many more things fixed after reinstalling supersu

About " Slim is Dead "
I put this Posting in the OP and change the Thread Titel so all can read it and i hope this stops the asking and the Questions.
We read in the last weeks many times questions, statements, about SlimRoms when it goes on or is Slim Dead.
To clear it.
We write in the last weeks many Times taht we have a lot of changes done, Team Intern , Personnel, software, hardware. These are all things that need time / have needed. Completed about 90% of the process.
People ask why nothing happens in the Gerrit.
We changed the whole system and you can find the Gerrit now here
you can see, we working hard on 5.1
People ask what happens with the Slim Homepage
You can finde the new HP here
please note, the HP is under construction and not finished.
You can be sure , SlimRoms is anything but just not dead,, many things need a lot of time, I would like and can no release date call for the next update, but I can say that it will not be long.
In this sense,
Greetings
Tylog ( Team SlimRoms )
SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
Please Note
A few words about the current standing. It was Christmas , New-Year , Holiday Time. After this we had to do in the last few weeks some organizational, server relocation, team structures, and more. Most of it is done. Pending Weekly's are started I will post a new build Sunday evening an Official Build upload. Sunday 01-February. I Post the DL Link in the Thread and here in the OP.
Let's hope we can start Weeklys in 1-2 Weeks. Thats the plan.
Regards , Tylog

Mini FAQ 4.4.x
Q) How can i change the DPI and whats the Stock Default DPI
A) DPI Settings coming soon , you can use textdroider_dpi from Playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.texdroider.texdroider_dpi&hl=de , this works fine. Default Stock DPI is 480.
Q) A few Settings like Disable Blacklight Keys and more are missing .
A) All features you know from 4.3 will come back from time to time , for now you can use Xposed in combination with Gravity Box.
Gravity Box : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2554049 / Xposed : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Q) Is ART stable to use ?
A)Test it for your self , remember that ART is in an early phase
Q) Can i restore my apps with Titanium Backup coming from another Rom ?
A) Yes you can , remember " Don't restore System Apps "
Q) What for a Recovery is recommanded ?
A) I use TWRP 2.6.3.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2468187 and it works fine , you can use the official CWM Recovery too.
Q ) There is no Theme Chooser in the Rom ?
A ) For now we use no Theme Chooser, you can use HK ThemeManager, it does the same and more
More helpfull Scripts , thanks to kantjer

:good:seems more stable than CM11 godd job (mix between god job and good job ... or typo)
so far everything seems fine (except for the auto-rotation)
I was able to install all my apps, with no compatibility issues so far.
the camera is working as well as the GPS fix.
The real dark slim is missing but I guess that's something for the stable build.
I must say I like it, I see my trust (and by that I mean donation:silly was well placed-
keep up the good work!
I guess I never buy another device which is not supported by SLIM :victory:

Bugs
Add Screenshot and customise Power Menu:
Settings > Navigation > Global Menu
So far bugs of KitKat:
1. In call proximity sensor not working. Neither is the mute button.
2. If phone battery dies and you put phone onto charge, it will automatically boot up straight into slimkat (skips gs4 screen?) and touchscreen will be unresponsive (all capacitive and hardware buttons work though). Restarting with charger plugged in does not solve, need to reboot again without charger then all is okay!
3. NFC is greyed out and enabled (power drain?) --> Add NFC to quicktiles, click it once, then reboot. NFC wont be greyed! (thx tylog)
4. Hotspot is not working (devices do not see the SSID) --> Tethering works
5. Front camera preview appears to be stretched horizontally, but photo is fine
6. S/W Decoder on MX Player FCs --> Use H/W Decoding
7. Network Mode and LTE quick tiles do nothing
Whatsapp+ has incorrect data and time notification
Hangouts is laggy and slow and doesn't appear to send sms on time --> switched to Messaging
No themes
No Dark Slim
How can i change the DPI ?
Auto-rotation is only partially not working in my side, i would prefer say that it works with almost no issue.
Only thing is that it doesn't work anymore but for a very little time after I tick/untick it under Settings/Display but works apparently perfect rest of the time.
Can't be only me huh?
Edit:Well a little more bugy than I thought finally, doesn't work anymore after some times (since screen-off it seems) and then works again after some times etc..

Everything I tested works fine,
As the device tree and kernel are forked from gummy, the only issue I know is the same to gummy rom, the volume of the incoming call is too low.

Makes sense, but i still don't know how Gummy is in terms of random crashes, drains, etc. They do not update their issues section.

maybe seems to smail to Gummy's. because we use same source.
Unfortunately I'm a dumb American and I can't find the option to change the site to english, also google translate isn't playing nice either. Is there an english version of the download page? I tried randomly clicking stuff but ended up being prompted to download an exe file.

I tried this ROM and couldn't find any instabilities. The MoKee UI is a bit more to my personal liking compared to Gummy, but that has to be decided by yourself.
Currently all AOSP-ROMs suffer from one issue (a dealbreaker for me), the lacking support for wired handsfree headphones. The buttons don't work yet, and the microphone just loops back to your headset and not the person at the other end.
I'll wait patiently for this issue to be solved, I see lot's of potential in both ROMs....

Incall volume is lower than on COS but loud enough, I didn't check the torch and if the light pulses. Sorry, can't help you there, because currently I'm back on COS 2.0
And battery life should be as good as on Gummy. I checked for wakelocks, didn't find any issues.

As MoKee is a fork of Gummy that should be more or less the same. I just coupled one Bluetooth device and saw it was working. Sorry again, but I stopped my tests when I found out, that the wired headphone issue was present in this ROM as well.

Support on this thread is for LiquidSmooth ROM related issues only.
While we do not mind helping, its getting impossible to sort through issues that are ROM related or not. Persistent non-ROM related issues are best suited for the T-Mobile Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting Section.
Below is a few things I would appreciate you list when you are having issues so we have as much information as possible when trying to help you with your problems.
Is this a Clean flash
Is this the stock kernel
What firmware revision are you on
What gapps package are you using
Have you had this issue on other ROMs
Do you have any apps that change/modify system preferences (Xposed, etc)
Do you have any task killers installed
If you are having app issues, are they running off of internal memory or extSdCard

Link to gapps is pointing to 4.4.x. Plz fix that.

I flashed nightly build and gapps for lollipop. So far it looks good. No wifi or data issues. Weather info in notification area shows up as null. Thanks
Installed the ROM and 5.0.x Gapps. ROM works great ! Big fan of LiquidSmooth roms.
My phone can't see 5GHz wireless network. Is this a known issue ? Anything I can do to make the phone see the 5GHz wireless network ? 5 GHz wireless network working after clearing cache.
I did a clean install using TWRP 2.8.1.0. I am using PA Gapps 5.0.1 (20141218).
Netflix working? Thanks for the rom, liquid smooth is all ive run for my last few devices. Also should the ota updater be working for when the newer builds start dropping?

S Pen Features?
Kinds Sirs:
I am researching this ROM as OmniROM doesn't include the standard S Pen features.
Where might I find a more detailed listing of what's included on LiquidSmooth?
Previous to OMNI I was quite happy with Conch Republic but wanted more updates, so I'm looking around a lot.
Thanks, In Advance!

Make sure you are using the latest titanium Backup and I recommend using SuperSu and not the built-in one if you haven't already switched. If you're referring to restoring system apps I don't think Titanium Backup will do this properly in lollipop yet as the system files aren't stored the way they've been in previous Android versions. I haven't had any heating problems so I cannot give any suggestions to that.

Hello, i've a few question before installing this ROM on my Mi8. I've currently on Android 8.1.0 and MIUI version 10.0.3.0. Can i directly install your ROM (my bootloader is unlocked, ofc) ? Which version of TWRP should i use ? And i guess i've to install GApps too ? Thx !
Will it be official ever?
We need to flash gapps ? Coz i shocked 500 mb under zip
Google assistant isnt working properly. Its just pulling uo a search rather than following the command. For example if i say 'watch netflix' it just pulls up a google search rather than opening netflix as it should. Anyone know if there is a way to fix this?
Other than that, so far i have found no other problems. Very smooth rom indeed and just the right features that i like to have. Battery is lasting ages too up til now

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

Coning from 9.0.9 stock, did a factory reset via twrp-3.3.1-20190908-0-codeworkx-signed-forcedecrypt-cheeseburger and with twrp-3.3.1-x_blu_spark_v9.101_treble-op5_op5t, installed OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_052_all_1910082005_adf7221fba833a0 , the flashed rom CARBON-CR-8.0-PAX-UNOFFICIAL-cheeseburger-20191123-1036 and open_gapps-arm64-10.0-stock-20190928-BETA. System configuration starts, going thorugh the options then black screen. Only clock in up-right corner and power options, nothing else. I suppose launcher fails to start completely. Any suggestions?

wipe system, data, cache, vendor.
flash firmware 9.0.9 from here
flash ROM zip
flash GApps zip (pico)
launcher from GApps package you flashed is failing, ROM's launcher i.e. quickstep is working fine.

:good:Thanks for the quick reply!!! The suggested worked and already restored my apps and started to test!! So glad to finally be back on Carbon after so long time (for me) !!! :good:
PS: Just as a feedback, I think it might be something else as I've tought about the launcher problem, and although I've tried previously with latest 9.0.9 from OnePlus website and used Gapps Aroma to remove everything related to launcher in the packages and managed to install, configuration died at the beginning and the built-in launcher worked, but then the setup kept going back to it when tried to set un my google accound and do black screeen during "installing updates" exactly as with previous options and not pass it to setting up my account details. So although I've got all Google apps I wanted AND the built in Launcher worked, I couldn't move forward towards setting up my G account... Still, would like to enjoy an Aroma Gapps install and have latest Gapps content loaded directly if possible in the future. Should you want me to test other options, I'm happy to do a backup and run whatever other combinations on my device for you.

Awesome work mate.
Couple of questions for my knowledge:
1. How does WiFi need country code? I thought that was limited to RIL!
2. SS QS tile, back after a long time on OP5 ROM. I recall last I had seen was on crDroid in Oreo. Maybe others too may have done it, but the ones I have used earlier, I had last seen on crDroid. Can you direct me to the commit please?
3. Would this also mean, a CPU/GPU/Battery can be added to QS Tile?
4. This is a very cool feature, as it helps to determine if it needs to cool down, and whether battery sensor is working fine or not. Cut-Off level.
Please, wheres deep sleep info?
