Welllll....what you can try and do is use different root exploits such as kingo root, vroot and many more or you can try installing a custom recovery then flash the SuperSuv2.4.6 zip file. BTW can you give me the specs for your phone

It is possible to root this phone via chimera tool... I tried it, but unfortunately the program won't launch on my computer because of some stupid virus... Right now i am trying to port a rom for it.

I just picked up this tablet. Should I take all of the OTA updates beore I attempt to root? Based on what I have read, it seems like I should, but I wanted to check before I take the updates. I am currently on JB v4.4.2. Thanks for your help.

It is not required to install all the updates before you root but if you would like to have the latest version then update first. If you plan to install a custom ROM later then no need for updating to the latest version.
Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 new firmware root
Hello, I have a samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 (P600). I am considering to root it so I can erase all those apps I o not need and that take space and ram. Just so you know, i am a neophite and for this reason still do not know weather to root or not. Thefefore I would need and explanation in plain language. recently a new firmware has been released and i downloaded it. The build number is KOT49H.P600UEUCNK1. Now my concern is if i should wait for a new root file matching my firmware to be developed or if I can proceed with the file already available.

Better idea, identify the apps that you don't want and ...
In application Manager, uninstall the updates and then disable them.

Thanky you for replying bulbous, but unfortunatelly your solutions is not of much help. In fact I was going to do what you told me through rom toolbox lite, but I still need root access. My intention though is to root my device and delate those crappy sMzung apps that i don't need and that only occupy space on my device, which is just 16 gb.
Do you or anybody have a very straightforward answer to what I asked at the beginning?
Thank you

Tablet restarts when trying to install apps
I followed the instructions given, but now when ever I attempt to install an app my tablet will restart itself, which prevents installation.
I'm new to rooting so I'm not sure what to do. Any sort of help will be appreciated.
I should mention I tried to use the autorootp600mj4.tar.md5 to root but when I restarted my device the supersu was there but it said I wasn't rooted, so I used CF-Auto-Root-lt03wifi-lt03wifixx-smp600.tar.md5 instead and it fixed the problem with supersu, but now I can't install anything please help.
Android 4.4.2
Hey there, I recently picked up a Galaxy Note Tab 2014 Edition and I tried rooting it, but the tablet is updated to the new software.
It is telling me that they can't find an SU Binary.
I would have to manually put one in.
Have you guys had this problem occur before?
If so, what course of action should I take.
I know this thread is a little dated, but if you get back to me that'll be very much appreciated!

Could you please check if you have really the same Firmware I have?:
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel version:
3.4.39-4357843

Wed Mar 4 16:47:00 KST 2015

SE for Android status:
SEPF SM-P600_ 4.4_2_0046

I cannot get it working.
I am following the instructions in this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-2014/development/root-cf-auto-root-t2905495
and I am using this the file linked there:
CF-Auto-Root-lt03wifi-lt03wifixx-smp600.zip
The process seems to go fine and I do not see errors, but I have no root privileges and SuperSu is not installed.
If I try to install SuperSU from Google Play, I get an error message saying Google Play has encountered a problem.
Requests for root privileges (for example from Root Checker or SDFix) wait quite some time for a reply and then timeout.
Before that I had tried with the file p600Autoroot.7z linked from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2490805
The installation behaviour looked the same, in that case both RootChecker and SDFix were bailing out immediately with a failure in the request for root privileges.
Which file have you been flashing with Odin?
I have the feeling some step (but not all) of the rooting process are incomplete, probably due to some change in the Kernel.
Any suggestion?
Thanks for the help.

Managed to root P600 with FW P600XXUDOC1
I finally managed:
After having installed with odin
autorootp600mj4.tar.md5
I had to manually install SuperSU-v2.48 from TWRP.
Previous versions of SuperSU did not install, even if there were no errors (also TWRP did not show any error).
Among the many instructions I tried out, the one that worked and gave me the links to the right files is this one (sorry, in German):

Hello XDA devs! I'm looking to root my phone again and I've been looking all over and trying different things and I can't get my phone rooted.
Some basic info about my phone:
Device: Sprint LG G2 LG-LS980
Hardware version: Rev.1.0
Android version: Android 5.0.2
Kernel version 3.4.0
Build Version LRX22G
Software version LS980ZVG
I have rooted my phone before, but after an update the root was gone and I haven't been able to get it re-rooted after that. There's a lot of things I'd like to try with my phone but I'm pretty sure most of that requires root access. I'm fully aware of the possibility of "bricking" my phone and I'm prepared to deal with that if it happens.
I can't seem to find instructions on how to root with android 5 and I'm wondering if someone could at least get me going in the right direction.
Guidance on how to back up and restore the phone would be helpful just in case.

Interested as well! Please someone help us! Exact same phone and software version!
I have just bought a Sky Devices "Elite" 5.0L (with Android Lollipop 5.1 stock firmware). I need to root it, in order to appropriately use Link2SD and remove a few pieces of software that came preinstalled. I have tried KingoRoot v4.9.5 (and some others) with no success: phone can't be root, yet.
Has anyone had success in rooting this model?
Thank you very much in advance!
Gabriel, from Buenos Aires, Argentina
Dont Root
DONT ROOT with KingRoot on Sky Devices or One Click they will soft brick and the device will only boot to the logo screen and freeze.
Update: KingRoot V4.9.6 android and V3.2.0 win, should work as they have address the issues with older versions.

Could you successfully root a Sky 5.0L "Elite" (with Android Lollipop 5.1) phone? With exactly which software / version? Just to be sure, bear in mind that KingoRoot is not the same as KingRoot.

I never got to fix the phone, I end up buying a new phone, and toss the door jam in a box in the corner, maybe after some couple of months I will try to revived it when there is some support for it. good luck with yours

I used KingRoot to root my platinum 5.0, with lollipop. I have BusyBox. I had no problems, and did it untethered. I had no problems with bricking.

Hi, did anyone succeed in extracting the ROM from the Sky Elite 5.0L?
I tried to root one using the latest version of KingoRoot but only succeeded in soft bricking it! Now it boots to the Sky Devices screen and hang there. I can boot into Recovery but need the proper ROM to revive the phone.
Can anyone help ???

I have been scouring the net for a couple of days trying to find reliable tutorial on rooting my new phone
anyone know how?
[update - i figured it out. just login to your flyme account. once logged in go to SETTINGS-SECURITY-ROOT PERMISSIONS and switch it on. the option is not available until you log into Flyme]

I did it! i rooted my phone. i tried about 5 different apps such as kingroot (didnt work). eventually one of them (not sure which one!) added a switch under security settings called "root permissions" i turn that on and rooted the phone easy.
You could root your Meizu with a Flyme 6.x.x build.
But with Flyme 7.x.x it's impossible.
