issue connecting to firestick with sideloader? - Fire TV Themes and Apps

I'm having a big issue trying to connect to my new out of the box firestick over my wifi.
I've tried using the amazonfirestick utility and adbfire v1.14 and v1.22.
nothing works. always says cant connect.
I've turned off the firewall on my laptop, turned off UAC, turned off microsoft security essentials, and tried opening the programs as an administrator.
I'm running win7 home premium 64bit. I've got the debugging and 3rd party software buttons turned on the firestick. everything says it "should" connect but it wont. is this a common issue? I have no clue how to get it to connect.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Forget all that brother.
Install agk fire on your android phone, then install es file explorer. Open agk and install es file explorer onto your fire stick. Open file explorer on both the stick and phone, which will opens a connection to sharing files and apks between the devices. Install whatever you want!

ES File Explorer not able to connect to W7 SMB sometimes

Once every few days, I can't connect to my shared folders/drives on my desktop from my S III using ES Explorer.
The irritating part is this only happens sometimes and it works just fine after I reboot my desktop pc (Windows 7 64-bit).
Also, when this happens, I can't connect from any Android device (I have a Nexus7 as well) but I can connect to the desktop fine from another windows PC/Laptop.
Anyone else encountered this issue before?

[Q] Fire TV Stick Will Not Install TVMC Using ADBFire

Hello Everybody,
I recently bought two Fire TV sticks from Staples the other day. I blocked amazon updates from my router using the tutorial from aftvnews, enabled ADB Debugging Mode on the stick, and attempted to install the TVMC apk using ADBFire (Windows 7, running as Admin).
The first Fire TV Stick I attempted worked flawlessly, I was able to install and run TVMC in a matter of minutes.
The second stick, however, would go on a continuous installation loop on ADBFire (Green status bar would reach 100% then repeat and not show Installation complete dialog box). I tried factory resetting the stick and reinstalling, but that didn't work. I also tried using a different router to install, but the same problem occurs. Another method I tried stopping the installation and then reinstalling, ADBFire would then display the installation complete dialog box, but the app is would not be listed or displayed under Settings > Applications > Manage applications. I tried Disconnecting/Restarting the device, but the app would not appear. I've installed the Crackle app from the App store to see if it would appear under Manage applications and it did, but TVMC was still not showing up. TVMC appears in the uninstall apk menu of ADBFire, so I uninstalled/reinstalled and it still does not show up on the stick.
Both sticks were installed using the same TV and USB cable plugged into a electrical outlet
Any help would be appreciated.
I had the same issue

I had the same issue (installed TVMC on one fire stick and would not install on the second). I unplugged the first stick after TVMC was installed, then re-booted the second stick using ADBFire. After that the install went off with no issues.
Thanks for the tip, rebooting after initial setup fixed the issue.
easy fix tvmc
If your on virgin media log into your account and turn off web safe.. then tvmc will install.. virgin is blocking it.. yours maki

Can't see Firephone in windows

I set USB connection as File transfer, previously I was able to see it in my windows computer under portable devices, but after I disabled some system apps of Firephone, also disabled most permission of running apps and disabled auto startup options of the apps, I can't see Firephone in windows now, though adb debugging still works.
Any ideas? Thanks.
I checked it on another computer, it works, so it's my computer's issue.

Check Device Manager for any USB or even Android or Fire Phone items that have an exclamation point on them. If you see them then remove them, and the driver installed with them. If you phone is connected, you will have to disconnect it and plug it back in.

Is there a way to transfer apks and files directly to fire stick with usb?

I know I can transfer via adb over my network but is there a way to transfer apks and files directly to the fire tv stick? Has anyone been able to access the file system without registering the device. I remember a long time ago on the fire tv's there was a way to do this via adb but can this be done with a hard cable directly from computer?
Go to this site to get drivers for fire stick, install them , and plug your fire stick in with just usb to your computer(wait for windows to say your hardware is ready to use). You can also install apps using adb. Worked for me on Windows 10.

Thank you for that link and info. Do you know if I have to log into an account before doing this transfer? Or can I just open the package plug it in and transfer the files?
I was already logged in, so don't know. But you don't have register the stick. Try plugging it in and see if windows will recognize it.
