Does anyone know if the little piece of plastic paper inside the sim card tray is also a water damage indicator and what colour does it need to be?

attention tmobile users

hopefully there are some of you guys that can help me out
I did search the forum but didnt get the answers i needed
today my touch screen went out on my tmo branded tp2 and i am going to send it in for a warranty exchange. I need to know where all the water damage stickers are first, to my knowledge it has never seen water but you never know
so of the ones i have found so far there is one on the bottom of the battery and on on the inside lip when you take out the battery on the sd card side. there also appears to be one in the top left corner( small black circle where a screw should be)
i am wondering if there are any that i missed?
also what color are they supposed to be?
please help me out i love this phone and hoping that itll be covered under warranty so i dont have to use my insurance
pictures would also be very helpful
Thanks
Nick
nick, that sucks man! sorry I can't help you with the location, but I'm almost 100% certain that these stickers are basically like litmus paper. They are normally white, once wet, they turn light pink, or a heavy dose of water, full pink
The water damage sticker is underneath the battery on the inside lip. It'll be a white sticker unless your phone is water damaged.
yea the sticker is white and turns pink with a lil water damage or if it got steamed up if u left it in the bathroom with u and it turns red when it gets dropped in water there is only one you can see on the device which is on the wall below the bar codes. As long as that is fine and there are no broken pieces and u have stock rom back on the device and locked u will be fine.
They ask you to check them before, of course you can lie if they are pink since they can't tell over the phone but of course you'll see that nice hefty charge on your bill later. I did a warranty exchange with no problems for the SD slot not taking any of my cards, and they just asked me to take the battery out and look at that moisture sensor.

[Q] [Help] Possible water damage, warranty need someone to identify something.[pics!]

My speaker and mic stopped working, I was in the shower and some water got on the screen, but it didnt seem like it went in. The two water damage indicators are fine, no sign of water damage.
I called and they are sending me a refurbished phone, but said if they detect any water damage they will charge me with $300. I have insurance, but it will cost $100 for a new phone, but if the phone is malfunctioning because of something else I don't want to pay $100.
There is what looks like rust on the right side of the sim card. Can anyone identify it for me?
the water damage indicator should be this little white sticker behind your battery. The thing in the image just looks like dirt to be honest, you could always use some cyber clean to clean the thing up.
make sure to check the little round white water damage sticker behind your battery. if it is white its ok. if it is red, then you're dead.
The normal indicators are white with pink x's on them which is normal. Its not dirt though. How extensively do they check the phone?
There's also one inside the phone, just below the camera. Not that I've ever seen it

Xperia Acro S Dip into the water

when my Xperia Acro S Dip into the water there is a bubble come up from the usb cover, is it normal or a factory defect?
I won't say thats normal
Bubble means air
So where ever the air was present (usb) it was replaced by water ( thats why bubble came out)
Guess there might be a leak
but after the bubbles I pick up my phone and the phone still works with no damage, I think the water replace the spaces on the cover but not with the rubber on.

I had the same thing.
as long as the inside rubber was properly closed, and not damaged, I think there will be no problem.
under the headset-connector cover I have a red (pink) sticker, so I guess, that means a little water must have hit that sticker, but that can also be from opening the cover after the phone was in the water, and still wet...
What i have a problem with, is that the covers for usb, and for head-set are regularly hard to close properly.
thats actually normal since there are spaces in the enclosure..it gets filled up but as long as the rubber seals are properly closed, then theres nothing to worry about :good:

Melted simcard slot

Hello,
My girlfriend her phone just melted, Her phone was laying on the couch and I saw it rebooting after 3 times I thought this is a bootloop. The phone wasn't charging or anything and wasn't doing anything at the time of rebooting.
The phone can be turned off and on but will not boot completely.
She sended the phone to the shop for repair. Today she got the invoice of the possible repair costs etc, with the text that the damage can't be compensated.
In Holland we have a warranty time of 2 year, the phone is 1 year old.
Couldn't find any information about a melted simcard slot and if that happened to anybody else?
I don't hope that the pink thing can be marked as a watersticker, if it is I think they will mark the damage as waterdamage?
I hope somebody can clarify this damage?

While I don't know what that pink item is, the water sticker is a white square located to the right of the camera sensor, just above the battery and situated between two screws. Take a look at the 1:11-1:28 minute mark of the teardown overview.

Did they say it was melted?
That does not look melted to me. Nothing is blackened or distorted looking. Like where it says nanoSIM very clearly, and the contacts look all clean through the cutouts. Plus there are those numbers on the other black plastic side that are not distorted or blackened.
It does look like some liquid got into there. There's the residue around that pink square and on top of the metal on the SIM holder, and on the plastic border that forms the seam with the back cover. It does not look it was dunked, but more like some liquid got in through that SIM card door area.
Look at the pictures on the website referenced above. Easier than the video. That square is white in the SIM card area. There appear to be 2 white squares. One on the black cover that goes over the motherboard, and then this one in the SIM card area. When I took my old phone apart, there was nothing pink in there. I don't recall there being the white square in the SIM card area, but I do remember the one on the top of the black plastic.
Thanks for the replays, after looking at the pictures some more the simcard slot doesn't look melted only blackened.
After some mailing with the shop, I think the chances are very slim that the damage will be compensated. They say that the damage is caused by water.
Will get the phone back and open it up myself.
Many thanks.
That's because it is water damage, which is indicated by the pink sticker.

Water Behind The Backlight on my M9

I got a very small amount of water in my M9 when I was cleaning it. Water only entered between the glass and the metal by the front facing camera. There's a small blob on my display that has been slowly spreading. I'm pretty sure it's under the backlight as I can only see it when the screen is on. I had tried warming up the phone but it did nothing other than making the blob bigger and less opaque. It's right by the SD Card Slot. Any ideas on how to get it out?
If the screen has delaminated you'll have to replace it. Place the phone in a sealed jar with a few packets of silica gel for a few days and let the gel draw the water out. If you heat or cool the water it expands and does more damage. Leave it at room temperature (19c-21c).
My guess is it's delaminated.
