Hi all i recently bought a no fault customer returned tab 3 7in SM-T210, Today I received my tab 3 and after the first boot I was offered an update, Build number KOT49H.T210XXBOA3, dated 22 jan 2015 at 110mb.
After the update had finished I was unable to connect to my WiFi, it would say connected but the settings app would freeze sometimes with the message that settings is not responding, if I do manage to get out of the settings I am unable to use the internet as all apps say no connection, even though the WiFi icon is showing as connected. I have also found that changing the screen off time to 1 minute cause's the device to soft reboot ( No Samsung galaxy tab 3 screen / bootloader )
I have tried doing factory reset but that didn't help,
Could flashing the full 828mb stock ROM via Odin possibly fix these issues?
And if I do use Odin to flash stock my warranty should remain?
Sorry for the long winded post, and thanks in advance for any advice given

Why is t210 so many issue? seriously!?
If one thing i need to clarify that doing any custom modification on the device will spoil your warranty. However if you did firmware stuff from kies will not remove your warranty. I would choose to flash into new firmware by using odin. But if your case you can do a factory reset then followed by kies and see if it is working. If it is not, download stock firmware from the net and flash it with odin.
thanks @Jacker31 for the response, i know about voiding warranty there is no custom software on it YET lol, only just got it out of the box, i am new to Samsung devices so i will do some research into kies, just don't want to void my warranty trying to sort it out.

I don't know if it's the same problem with my wife's tab t210. when you turn on the wifi it connects but around many seconds, the wifi icon is gone. and in settings the wifi freeze. i've done rebooting, restore factory settings but it didn't fix the problem. but when i try it to connect via my phone tethering it connects and the wifi icon stays. i check the tethering settings it was put on wpa2, but on my router it was just on wpa. So i change it to wpa2 and the problem on my wife's tab is gone.

Hi guys, so I installed kies3 but when I click the firmware upgrade button I get this message 'SM-T210' dose not support initializing. even though i had USB debugging selected. I also tried while the device was unplugged by entering the model and serial numbers but got the same response.
If I flash a stock firmware by Odin will the device log it on the flash counter? as it came with a 12 month warranty and i will send it back if i cannot fix it myself.

You should send it back because of the warranty, anything could happen (I meant for the warranty) if we do something.

I am experiencing the same issue, same phone and rom i9195 JDQ39.I9195XXUBMJ7. Wifi works after reboot for about 10 minutes and then stops responding. It may stay connected for a few hours after it stops working, but the phone can't send data over it.
I have wiped data/factory reset the phone to no avail.
I read somewhere about a few people with other devices on 4.2 having troubles with AES encryption on their routers. Might be somewhere for us to start troubleshooting. The other option is to just try downgrading to the previous version.
I'm on stock, rooted odex. I believe the issue happened after I rooted. On boot, it forgets all previously connected WiFi networks. The only mods I've flashed was the 4-way boot (which didn't work since I have CWM and not TWRP). I've tried deleting the dhcp files in the dhcp folder and the wpa files in the etc/wifi folder. Neither worked.
Anyone else having this issue?
Edit: Factory wipe didn't rectify the issue. Guess I'll ODIN back to stock. Hopefully this is a hardware issue.
Strange.....mine works fine, rebooted numerous times.

Figured out the issue. I mistakenly flashed the T800 autoroot instead of the T700 autoroot.
Hi
I am stepping in on this thread, because I encounter this issue.
I just rooted by Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (LTE) - T705 and I followed this site http://theunlockr.com/2014/08/09/how-to-root-the-samsung-galaxy-tab-s-8-4-lte/, used as instructed CF_AutoRoot_Port_T700_BeansTown106.tar with Odin3 v1.85 .
- when rebooted the wifi forgets the password, (as long as you dont reboot the wifi is okay, and i can connect to other network and connect back to the original wifi.)
Do anybody knows how to fix this issue?

I think you have to change some sort of file to something to make it remeber it. I cant remeber what the fix was but it was somewhere in the cfautoroot fourm.

HI,
Consider also using Skyhigh Kernel, it fixes your issue.

My nonrooted Tab S forgets WiFi on reboot and when I switch WiFi off and then on.
I found that this probably is a KitKat bug (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2685519)
If you are rooted then this is what fixed it for me.

Unfortunately I have no root, so I flashed the newest firmware (T705XXU1ANH1 – XEH from France) and it fixed Wi-Fi
So, I using mine tab with and 6 on the latest image from Brazil.
It is rooted and with TWRP.
It doesn't save wifi networks. If I turn wifi on and of it looses everything.
Just to be clear, it had this problem before I installed TWRP. It took me quite some time to notice the problem so I don't know if it is related with the root method.
I even flashed a custom kernel, but still no luck.
Does any one know of a solution for this issue on Android 6? Stok?
Thanks

try to flash a diffedent rom. i personally never had this issue but maybe a new rom may help.
I have upgraded from Jelly Beans to Kitkat 4.4.2 via regular OTA upgrade provided by Samsung on my Samsung Note 8" GT-N5110. Since then I am unable to use Wifi on it. My device is NOT rooted and is running on original Samsung software upgraded via OTA.
I have tried to clear cache and then factory re-set as well and still can't get the WIFI button to sometime even select available WIFI networks. So issues I am facing are summarized below"
1. After factory re-set and clearing cache via Power+Vol Up option, when I tried to setup from scratch, WIFI would not turn on at all meaning device would not be able to scan for available WIFI network or would do so but after long time and if it does show available Networks and I select my home network with required security (WPA2) and password, it would show status as " Saved" rather than connecting to this network. The device would not connect to selected network even after multiple tries.
2. When trying to turn wifi on, device would not show "WIFI" button to Green but instead would stuck at "Grey" color for ever unless rebooted and re-tried many times. The grey would turn green when selecting advanced option or tabbing thro' back button but would not scan available networks then. If it would scan thro' Networks, it would just save selected network even with correct security option and password for it.
WIFI not turning on has made this device a piece of junk for any meaningful use. Any suggestions/ help would be highly appreciated. Again please note, my device is UNROOTED and running on original firmware provided by Samsung via OTA upgrade.
Hi XDA Gurus,
Any one can direct me to right section that has solution for this issue if it is a repost? or help me get an answer?
Thanks,
R
Anyone find an answer to this?
I ahve had no luck, same exact issue, anyone have any ideas? thanks

If you don't mind... try odin 3.09, flash philz recovery, factory reset for wipe clean for fresh install option, and boot to downloader. Flash a firmware from sam mobile, or the get a usa version in the development section.
That should flash a clean install after a wipe
Got a notice of an OTA last night. Figured it was for Lollipop so told it to proceed. Once the tablet rebooted the WiFi radio was disabled. Looked in settings which showed that WiFi was on, but no radio. Went online an saw that Samsung hasn't sent out the Lollipop update for the 10.1.
Question 1 - how do I restore my tablet since I can't get WiFi turned on?
Question 2 - where did this weird OTA come from?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Others having same issue
Thought I'd post this as info. Checked over at Android Central and several people appear to be having the same issue. Looks like bad firmware from Samsung. Bad build number is: KOT49H.T520UEUAOD1. Wiping and factory refresh may help temporarily, but eventually the wifi radio will be disabled. I'm going to wait for Samsung to get their act together and flash a fresh build when it's released.
Thanks for the help.

My 10.1 Tab Pro was updated too but wifi is working fine. I'm not rooted though. Same build number that you mentioned.

Wifi Issue as well
I had the same update come across last night and now I can't connect to wi-fi to save my life. Really pissed off. Done 2 factory resets already, reset my modem at home, turns out it happens everywhere and not just at home. Wifi says it's on but doesn't pick up any networks in my area and won't connect to the 1 that is already known on my tab. PLEASE HELP
Got the update last week. Wifi is fine but now daily I get a random reboot. Never had any problems before. Thanks Sammy!

Does one know how to correct this firmware update if the tablet is unable to connect to the internet?

You can download an earlier firmware from sammobile.com. If you are in the US, use the firmware for cellular South and make sure it's a 4.4.2 that you are downloading. After you download it, you can flash it with Odin. There are several threads here on xda that describe this process. If you still need further help, post again.

Boy am I glad to find you guys with the same problem as I have. Couple of days ago I saw an update message and decited to go for it. Well, as all of you know, wifi stops working. Factory resets gets it working again but once everything is restored it stops working again! This is quite frustrating and I hope Samsung is working on a fix right now. I haven't been on XDA for a while and only rooted phones before. So how is the rooting/mod scene for tablets. Any good Custom Roms out there we can use until/when this is resolved? I'm good with directions and done some custom roms on my phones before. Let me know what's the good ROMS out there are...the bloatfree version is a welcome even without KNOX, I don't really use it.

Thanks for your feedback.
I had to use the firmware from November 2014 to get it to work and restore my wi-fi.
Again thanks
KOT49H.T520UEUAOD1 is the problem
Well I figure this particular firmware has a problem. Because even after factory reset, wifi works once and goes back to not working. So the best solution is to get an earlier version. I went back to Sep 15, 2014 version and it works well. Took forever to download from sammobile though. So if you need to flash to a previous version that works. I have post a link to the firmware I have on my OneDrive that got it working again, hopefully it will be faster for you to get your tablet working again. Here is a link. This is for the US Tab Pro 10.1 SM-T520.

thank you for those who warned about the wifi problems this OTA introduced. I'm just going to keep ignoring the tablets request to update. I thought i got a great deal on this tablet when i got a refurbished one for under $300 several months ago... but samsungs lack of support for this tablet is astonishing.

i'm being prompted to install a 83.54 mb update, i dont know if its the bad OTA you list or if its a new one. Anyone have any idea what it is?
dear all,
I'd like to wipe my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 to factory settings.
I used classic startup menu (POWER+VOLUME) to access the wipe option.
When it restarts, WiFi is not working anymore : it can't activated.
It worked once, I succeeded to give the WPA2 key, I got an IP, and 2 seconds later, Wifi was not actived anymore and I wasn't able to activate it again.
I tried several workarounds, several solutions, several ODIN version to push several ROM files. Nothing is working.
Lot of ROMs are considered as invalid by different ODIN versions (even if MD5 checksum is valid).
Is there any package I can try to install (through APK inserted on the SD card for instance) to test something ?
Is there a good ROM file to download/try ?
Help...
Thank you

Try different network, if it's the same, the wifi built in is defective. There is no option other than changing a new board and it's not expensive

Try to go back to the stock firmware to see the result.
I've already tried ROM stock
I'll bring it at my office tomorrow to check with another wlan signal

Trust me, after factory reset and at initial setting, Wifi should be turn on by default; if it doesn't your Wifi chips are defective
