Take the ota 1st...if you root, you would need to unroot to do the upgrade to LP
Edit...the root method for kit cat works fine on lp...

Hello all, i recently installed the Dstv Drifta android app. When i opened the app,it shows me a message that says "this application cannot run on a rooted device".
Is there a way i can block this app from finding out that i have root access?
I really want to use this app,but i don't want to unroot my device.
Please help.

Dstv drifta app. The app is used to watch Dstv on your android device via a wifi satellite.
Play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...oogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=drifta+wifi

Hey guys,i found a way to prevent apps from recognising you have root. If you use SuperSU,go into it. Under the superSU settings menu, uncheck the enable superuser checkbox.
Then open the app afterwards. It shouldn't detect that you have root.
Thanks to @Yenkazu from the SuperSU thread.

Should I root first or update my tablet first. Thanks
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Update first imho. then root away.
You definitely want to update first...
After you update your Nexus 7 tablet you will want to download WUGFresh Nexus 7 root toolkit. That program will download the USB drivers for your computer and root your tablet and install TWRP recovery manager for you.
After that load up Google play store and download Multi ROM Manager and that app will install multi rom which will allow you to flash multiple ROMs on your N7 without harming your stock N7 ROM...
Just Google WuGFresh to get the download...
Hope it helps

Hey I don't have a computer can I root my tablet without a computer. Thanks

There are ways to root your tablet without a PC. Look into Mobile Odin from the Google play store. It cost money I think $4.99 but it will you to flash a custom rom that comes pre rooted. If you want to keep your stock rom then your going to need a computer...

Hello, has anyone managed to get towelroot working on this phone (if you have, can you post the modstring? )?
If not, is there another method of rooting that can preserve my files and app data?
thanks!
Anyone?
